- the above-cited conduit with the almost-elliptical section further exhibits a generally tapered shape towards the outlet, thus obtaining an increase in the velocity of the exhaust gases, which further contributes to the dissipation of the heat.
- An aim of the present invention is thus to make available a device for evacuating exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine, which allows a more efficient dissipation of the heat contained in the exiting exhaust gases.

During the following descent run, the piston 61 closes the supply conduit 66 and opens the crossover conduit 68, such that the fresh mixture passes into the combustion chamber 62, at the same time pushing the exhaust gases to exit through the exhaust pipe 67.
- the piston 61 re-closes the exhaust pipe 67 and the crossover conduit 68, such as to compress the fresh mixture in the combustion chamber 62 up to the moment in which the spark plug 69 releases the spark, when the expansion stage begins and with it a new descent run.
- the exhaust pipe 67 opens internally of a muffler 70, which makes available a rather large chamber, in which the exhaust gases are forced to slow down, reducing their noise emission level.
- the muffler 70 may contain a catalyser for reducing the toxicity of the exhaust gases before they are released to the outside.
