The invention has for its object to provide a clamping device with which it is possible to apply a label sleeve error-free and reliable on an object.

The above object is achieved by a clamping device comprising the features of claim 1.

Furthermore, the invention has for its object to provide a method by which a label sleeve can be applied error-free and reliable on an object.

This object is achieved by a method comprising the features of claim 10.

The clamping device according to the invention is provided for applying label sleeves on objects. The inner diameter of the label sleeve is smaller than the diameter of the circumferential circle of the article on which the label sleeve is to be applied. The tensioner includes a third jaw and a fourth jaw movably disposed between the first jaw and the second jaw. The third jaw and the fourth jaw also engage the inner surface of the label sleeve. The third jaw and the fourth jaw are arranged on a movable support. The movable holder consists of a first and a second movable lever arm and the lever arms are rotatably connected to each other via a common axis.

Diese vierte Spannbacke greift ebenfalls an der Innenmantelfläche der Etikettenhülse an.In order to achieve a uniform spreading of the label sleeve with the clamping device, the fourth jaw is provided. This fourth jaw also engages the inner surface of the label sleeve.

The first clamping jaw and the second clamping jaw are designed such that they move radially towards and away from one another. Similarly, it is the third jaw and the fourth jaw also possible to move radially toward each other and away from each other. To engage the inner surface of the label sleeve, movement of the jaws away from each other is provided. In order to release the inner lateral surface of the label sleeve, the clamping jaws are moved towards each other.

A first direction of movement of the first clamping jaw and the second clamping jaw is directed 180 ° opposite. A second direction of movement of the third clamping jaw and the fourth clamping jaw is also directed in each case 180 ° opposite. By this first and second direction of movement, the paired jaws are away from each other or towards each other. In a preferred embodiment, the first and the second direction of movement are perpendicular to each other.

The first jaw is attached to a first arm and the second jaw to a second arm of the tensioning device. The third clamping jaw and the fourth clamping jaw are each arranged on a separate movable holder. Each of these brackets is hinged to the first arm and to the second arm of the tensioning device. The third jaw and the fourth jaw are each attached to a carrier. This carrier is articulated on the common axis for the movable lever arms.

The movable mounts, on which the third and the fourth jaw are arranged, consist of a first and a second movable lever arm. These lever arms are rotatably connected to each other via a common axis. Furthermore, the lever arms are articulated with an opposite end of the common axis to the first arm and to the second arm of the tensioning device, each having a rotation axis.

In the first arm and in the second arm of the clamping device a slotted guide is formed in each case. In these slotted guides which are guided the common axis of the opposite ends of the movable lever arms. This guide of the pivot points of the holder is necessary in order to move the first arm and the second arm in the first direction of movement can. If the axes of rotation were rigidly mounted, it would not be possible to open the arms completely.

In one of the movable lever arms of the brackets each have a further slotted guide is formed, in which a pin engages. Due to the guided pin, the second direction of movement of the third clamping jaw or the fourth clamping jaw connected to the holder is limited. The limitation of the direction of movement is important for the functioning of the clamping device. By limiting the movement prevents the third jaw and the fourth jaw from moving beyond a certain point. This point is commonly referred to as a dead center and describes the point at which the bracket breaks with the respective jaw. This breakage can either lead to malfunctions in the use of the tensioning device or overstretching of the label sleeve.

The jaws have at least one rounding, which comes into contact with the inner diameter of the label sleeve. Furthermore, it is possible that the clamping jaws are designed arcuate. The design of the clamping jaws is dependent on the outer shape of the object to be labeled. If the object has a round shape, it is advisable to design the jaws arcuate in order to achieve a uniform round elongation of the label sleeve. For items whose outline differs significantly from a round shape, it is advisable to design the jaws rod-shaped with a corresponding curve to match the shape of the stretched label sleeve as closely as possible to the outer shape of the object.

The use of the clamping device according to the invention makes it possible to apply label sleeves for labeling objects on these trouble-free.

With the clamping device according to the invention objects are provided with label sleeves. It will be clear to those skilled in the art that the articles can not be filled exclusively with liquids. It can also be filled solids. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the objects need not be used exclusively for food. It can also be filled with other products such as oil or fats. Even in the non-food sector, it is possible to fill the objects with liquids and / or solid substances. The articles can be bottles, cans or wide-mouth containers which can be provided with a lid. For example, cucumber glasses are to be understood as meaning a wide-mouth container which can be provided with a lid.

The method for labeling objects using such a tensioning device initially comprises the step of receiving a label sleeve with the tensioning device according to the invention. The clamping device is provided for this purpose with four jaws. For clamping the label sleeve The clamping jaws are applied to an inner lateral surface of the label sleeve. In a further step, the label sleeve is clamped, wherein the at least three clamping jaws are moved radially away from each other. By this movement of the jaws, the label sleeve is stretched to the required level. After clamping, the stretched label sleeve is pulled onto the object with the tensioning device. When mounting, the label sleeve is pulled over the object in an axial direction. It will be clear to those skilled in the art that the label sleeve does not have to be forced over the article. It is also possible to push the article from below into the stretched label sleeve. Thus, coating does not constitute a final limitation of the invention. After the label sleeve has been pulled over the article, the label sleeve is relaxed. To relax the at least three jaws are moved radially toward each other. After relaxing, the label sleeve is applied to the object to be labeled. In the final step, the jig is removed from the labeled article. This is done by pulling out the four clamping jaws between the inner lateral surface of the label sleeve and the object.

FIG. 1 1 schematically shows the structure of a device 18 for labeling articles 70. With the device 18 for labeling, the label sleeves (not shown) with the label tube tensioning device 20 are pulled along the longitudinal axis 72 of the article 70 in the axial direction 74 over the article 70.

FIG. 2 shows the schematic structure of a closed clamping device 20 for label sleeves 60 (see FIG. 6 ). The first clamping jaw 22a is arranged on the first arm 26a and the second clamping jaw 22b is arranged on the second arm 26b. The first arm 26a and the second arm 26b are rotatably supported in the respective rotation axes 27 of the arms 26a and 26b. The first clamping jaw 22a and the second clamping jaw 22b are moved apart radially by 180 ° for clamping the label sleeve (not shown) through the first direction of movement 36a. When moving in the first direction of movement 36a, the movable supports 37 are forcibly moved. As a result of this forced movement of the movable holders 37, which arises when the first arm 26a and the second arm 26b are opened, the third clamping jaw 22c and the fourth clamping jaw 22d move radially apart in the second movement direction 36b by 180 °. The movable supports 37 each consist of a first movable lever arm 38a and a second movable lever arm 38b. The movable lever arms 38 a and 38 b are interconnected by the common axis 50. Furthermore, with each common axis 50 a carrier 23 connected. On these carriers 23, the third jaw 22c and the fourth jaw 22d are mounted. The movable supports 37 are articulated in the rotation axes 39 on the first arm 26a and on the second arm 26b. The axes of rotation 39 for the movable lever arms 38a and 38b of the movable support 37, to which the fourth clamping jaw 22d is fastened, are each guided in slide guides 40. The task of this slide guides 40 and their exact function are in the FIG. 4a and in the FIG. 4b described.

FIG. 3 shows the schematic structure of an open clamping device 20 for label sleeves 60 (see FIG. 6 ). The jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d have been moved radially outward in the respective directions of movement 36a and 36b, so that a label sleeve (not shown) is at least partially tensioned. The movable brackets 37 with the movable lever arms 38a and 38b have been completely unfolded. In this embodiment, the clamping jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d are provided with a rounding 24. This embodiment is primarily for the labeling of round objects, such as bottles (see FIG. 1 ), suitable. Furthermore, the movement of the third jaw 22c and the movement of the fourth jaw 22d is limited by more slotted guides. This link guides are the example of the fourth jaw 22d also in the FIG. 4a and in the FIG. 4b described in more detail.

FIG. 4a is an enlarged view of the in FIG. 2 A section marked A. The detail A shows the fourth jaw 22d with the clamping device closed. The axes of rotation 39 of the movable holder 37 of the fourth clamping jaw 22d are located on the outer stops 42a of the slotted guides 40. Furthermore, the further slotted guide 30 for limiting the movement of the fourth clamping jaw 22d below the common axis 50 of the movable lever arms 38a and 38b is shown. This further slotted guide 30 cooperates with a pin 28. This slotted guide 30 has a first stop 32 and a second stop 34, between which the pin 28 can move. When the tensioner (not shown) is fully closed, the pin 28 is against the first stop 32. When the tensioner is opened, the pin 28 moves toward the second stop 34. The second stop 34 serves to stop the movement of the fourth clamping jaw 22d in the second direction of movement 36b. This prevents the fourth jaw 22d from being too far in the second direction of movement 36b moves and the label sleeve (not shown) may be overstretched. Furthermore, movement of the jaw 22d beyond a dead center (not shown) may result in technical problems in transferring the tensioning device 20 to the closed state.

FIG. 4b is an enlarged view of the in FIG. 3 with B designated section. The detail B shows the fourth jaw 22d with the jig fully open (not shown). The axes of rotation 39 of the movable holder 37 of the fourth clamping jaw 22d are located on the inner stops 42b of the slotted guide 40. The pin 28 has reached the second stop 34 of the further slotted guide 30. In this position, the clamping device is locked, so that the fourth jaw 22d can not be moved.

FIG. 5 schematically shows an axial view of the label sleeve 60. The label sleeve 60 has an outer diameter AD and an inner diameter ID. The difference in the diameters results from the material thickness 64 of the label sleeve 60. Furthermore, the label sleeve 60 has an inner circumferential surface IM on which the clamping jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d of the clamping device 20 engage to open the label sleeve 60.

FIG. 6 schematically shows the assignment of a label sleeve 60 prior to application to an object 70. The label sleeve 60 is clamped with the clamping jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d, which are arranged on the clamping device 20. When in the FIG. 6 As shown, only the first jaw 22a is shown. The label sleeve 60 is stretched such that the inner diameter ID of the label sleeve 60 is greater than the diameter DU of the article 70. After stretching, the label sleeve 60 is pulled over the object 70 in the axial direction 74.

FIG. 7 shows a perspective view of the tensioning device 20 with associated label sleeve 60. The label sleeve 60 is arranged around the clamping jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d of the tensioning device 20. In this perspective view, it can clearly be seen how the clamping jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d reach into the label sleeve 60 and thus lie flat against the inner lateral surface of the label sleeve IM. By the tensioning device 20, the label sleeve 60 can thus be clamped accordingly, that this pulled over the object to be labeled 70 can and the object 70 engages in the between the clamping jaws 22a, 22b, 22c and 22d of the clamping device 20 formed opening 55.
