The clamping device according to the invention is provided for applying label sleeves on objects. The inner diameter of the label sleeve is smaller than the diameter of the circumferential circle of the article on which the label sleeve is to be applied. The tensioner includes a third jaw and a fourth jaw movably disposed between the first jaw and the second jaw. The third jaw and the fourth jaw also engage the inner surface of the label sleeve. The third jaw and the fourth jaw are arranged on a movable support. The movable holder consists of a first and a second movable lever arm and the lever arms are rotatably connected to each other via a common axis.
Diese vierte Spannbacke greift ebenfalls an der Innenmantelfläche der Etikettenhülse an.In order to achieve a uniform spreading of the label sleeve with the clamping device, the fourth jaw is provided. This fourth jaw also engages the inner surface of the label sleeve.
The first clamping jaw and the second clamping jaw are designed such that they move radially towards and away from one another. Similarly, it is the third jaw and the fourth jaw also possible to move radially toward each other and away from each other. To engage the inner surface of the label sleeve, movement of the jaws away from each other is provided. In order to release the inner lateral surface of the label sleeve, the clamping jaws are moved towards each other.
A first direction of movement of the first clamping jaw and the second clamping jaw is directed 180 ° opposite. A second direction of movement of the third clamping jaw and the fourth clamping jaw is also directed in each case 180 ° opposite. By this first and second direction of movement, the paired jaws are away from each other or towards each other. In a preferred embodiment, the first and the second direction of movement are perpendicular to each other.
The first jaw is attached to a first arm and the second jaw to a second arm of the tensioning device. The third clamping jaw and the fourth clamping jaw are each arranged on a separate movable holder. Each of these brackets is hinged to the first arm and to the second arm of the tensioning device. The third jaw and the fourth jaw are each attached to a carrier. This carrier is articulated on the common axis for the movable lever arms.
The movable mounts, on which the third and the fourth jaw are arranged, consist of a first and a second movable lever arm. These lever arms are rotatably connected to each other via a common axis. Furthermore, the lever arms are articulated with an opposite end of the common axis to the first arm and to the second arm of the tensioning device, each having a rotation axis.
In the first arm and in the second arm of the clamping device a slotted guide is formed in each case. In these slotted guides which are guided the common axis of the opposite ends of the movable lever arms. This guide of the pivot points of the holder is necessary in order to move the first arm and the second arm in the first direction of movement can. If the axes of rotation were rigidly mounted, it would not be possible to open the arms completely.
In one of the movable lever arms of the brackets each have a further slotted guide is formed, in which a pin engages. Due to the guided pin, the second direction of movement of the third clamping jaw or the fourth clamping jaw connected to the holder is limited. The limitation of the direction of movement is important for the functioning of the clamping device. By limiting the movement prevents the third jaw and the fourth jaw from moving beyond a certain point. This point is commonly referred to as a dead center and describes the point at which the bracket breaks with the respective jaw. This breakage can either lead to malfunctions in the use of the tensioning device or overstretching of the label sleeve.
The jaws have at least one rounding, which comes into contact with the inner diameter of the label sleeve. Furthermore, it is possible that the clamping jaws are designed arcuate. The design of the clamping jaws is dependent on the outer shape of the object to be labeled. If the object has a round shape, it is advisable to design the jaws arcuate in order to achieve a uniform round elongation of the label sleeve. For items whose outline differs significantly from a round shape, it is advisable to design the jaws rod-shaped with a corresponding curve to match the shape of the stretched label sleeve as closely as possible to the outer shape of the object.
The use of the clamping device according to the invention makes it possible to apply label sleeves for labeling objects on these trouble-free.
With the clamping device according to the invention objects are provided with label sleeves. It will be clear to those skilled in the art that the articles can not be filled exclusively with liquids. It can also be filled solids. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the objects need not be used exclusively for food. It can also be filled with other products such as oil or fats. Even in the non-food sector, it is possible to fill the objects with liquids and / or solid substances. The articles can be bottles, cans or wide-mouth containers which can be provided with a lid. For example, cucumber glasses are to be understood as meaning a wide-mouth container which can be provided with a lid.
The method for labeling objects using such a tensioning device initially comprises the step of receiving a label sleeve with the tensioning device according to the invention. The clamping device is provided for this purpose with four jaws. For clamping the label sleeve The clamping jaws are applied to an inner lateral surface of the label sleeve. In a further step, the label sleeve is clamped, wherein the at least three clamping jaws are moved radially away from each other. By this movement of the jaws, the label sleeve is stretched to the required level. After clamping, the stretched label sleeve is pulled onto the object with the tensioning device. When mounting, the label sleeve is pulled over the object in an axial direction. It will be clear to those skilled in the art that the label sleeve does not have to be forced over the article. It is also possible to push the article from below into the stretched label sleeve. Thus, coating does not constitute a final limitation of the invention. After the label sleeve has been pulled over the article, the label sleeve is relaxed. To relax the at least three jaws are moved radially toward each other. After relaxing, the label sleeve is applied to the object to be labeled. In the final step, the jig is removed from the labeled article. This is done by pulling out the four clamping jaws between the inner lateral surface of the label sleeve and the object.
