Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a parapet component for scaffoldings, and in particular for modular scaffoldings.
  • prefabricated ones are made up of a basic prefabricated element which is the frame, typically made up of two vertical elements connected by a transverse one.
  • the scaffolding is obtained as a superposition of various frames, realized by engaging and blocking systems that usually do not require the use of wrenches or other tools, with consequent rapid assembly.
  • Frames are then connected among themselves by further oblong elements called stringers and braces, resulting respectively parallel and inclined with respect to the floor, and the cross-pieces of the different frames support walking tables.
  • the technical problem posed and solved by the present invention is to provide a parapet component for modular scaffolding that improves the simplicity and safety of the aforementioned bottom-to-top setup techniques already known in the state of the art.
  • the present invention provides some significant advantages.
  • the parapet attains:
  • the potential simplicity of the parapet geometry according to the invention allows to set up a single element capable to substitute front stringers and braces of the traditional system.
  • a parapet component according to a first embodiment of the invention apt to be used in a modular scaffolding, is globally denoted by 1.
  • the parapet 1 is formed by a plurality of oblong elements, typically made of metal, defining a structure with a globally trapezoid profile and in particular with a right-angled trapeze profile.
  • the latter is formed by a bottom structure substantially shaped as a right-angled triangle and by a substantially rectangular structure superiorly adjacent to the bottom one and having one side (in the represented example, the longer one) coincident with a cathetus (in the depicted example, the longer one) of the triangle.
  • the parapet 1 is made up of a first lateral upright element 21 and a second lateral upright element 22, this latter one arranged parallel to the first element 21, on the opposite side to this one, and presenting an inferior length, which elements are arranged, when the parapet is assembled onto the scaffolding, substantially perpendicular to the trampling floor and then substantially vertical.
  • the parapet 1 includes a first and a second stringer element, respectively 31 and 32, interposed between said upright elements 21 and 22 and arranged, when the parapet is assembled onto the scaffold, substantially parallel to the trampling floor, that is substantially horizontal.
  • first stringer element 31 joins the upper free ends of said upright elements 21 and 22 while the second stringer element 32 joins the free end of the second (shorter) upright 22 with an intermediate portion of the first upright 21.
  • the parapet 1 also includes a brace element 4, arranged, when the parapet is assembled over the scaffold, substantially oblique with respect to the trampling floor.
  • the brace element 4 is interposed between the other free longitudinal end of the first upright 21 and the common free end of the second stringer 32 and the second upright.
  • connection means to further scaffold components is provided for.
  • This connection means includes, for each of the said vertices, respectively a first and a second hook, respectively denoted by 51 and 52, and a pin 53 arranged in correspondence of the lower side of said triangular structure.
  • Each of such elements 51-53 is act to engage a respective bush of the scaffold, denoted respectively by 91, 92 and 93.
  • the first and the second hook 51 and 52 extend, when the parapet 1 is in an assembly position onto the scaffold, in a substantially vertical direction, while the pin 53 extends, again with reference to the configuration mounted onto the scaffold, in a substantially horizontal direction and, in particular, in the present example, substantially perpendicular to the plane defined by the oblong elements, that is by the trapezoid structure.
  • first and the second hook 51 and 52 are of a self-locking type.
  • this self-locking capability is obtained by a substantially L-shape of the part of the hook that engages the bush 91.
  • This part of the bush 91 is made up of a first and a second portion 511 and 512 substantially perpendicular between themselves and both substantially parallel to the plane defined by the oblong elements.
  • portions 511, 512 and 521 abut the bottom face of the respective bush 91 and 92 so that, once the latter has been engaged, the hook 51, 52 cannot be pulled out with a simple vertical traction.
  • antislippage means 6 is provided for the pin itself.
  • such means includes a couple of flanges 61 and 62 extending substantially perpendicular to the pin 53, from opposite sides of this and one of which is movable to switch from an insertion condition of the pin 53 in the bush 93, shown in the upper box, to an antislippage condition, shown in the lower box.
  • antislippage means 60 in correspondence to a pin 530, antislippage means 60 is provided.
  • this means includes a pair of fixed flanges 610 and 620 extending substantially parallel to the pin 530 from opposite sides of the latter and apt to be connected through a connection means, for example a screw 7.
  • FIGS. 1A, 1B and 1C (1D) each show a respective setup phase of the parapet 1 in a modular scaffolding denoted with 90.
  • the setup of the parapet can be achieved in three simple steps. Firstly, vertical hooks 51 and 52 are introduced each in the corresponding bush 91, 92 and then introducing the horizontal pin 53 (530) in the corresponding bush 93 and activating the antislippage means 6 (60).
  • Figure 3 shows a specific type of frame unit, denoted with 10, associable with the parapet 1 in a modular scaffolding.
  • this figure shows two frame units 10 connected by a stringer element 100 and a parapet 1.
  • the frame 10 presents two lateral uprights 13 connected by a cross-piece 14 and each having six horizontal bushes 93, placed longitudinally side by side on opposite sides of the upright itself and each apt to receive a respective pin, and four vertical bushes 91 or 92 them too placed longitudinally side by side by two at opposite sides of the upright.
  • the frame 10 also has an adjustable base 15 in correspondence of each upright 13.
  • the frame 10 is of the type with a tall sideboard to be used as beginning point where support surfaces do not have gradients higher than about 20 cm.
  • the frame 10 can be used as beginning point when the scaffold is used as carrying tower.
  • the starting with the parapet 1 is then analogous to those of traditional portal frames and does not require the use of any additional element.
  • the frame unit 10 can also be implemented independently from the parapet of the invention herein considered.
  • Figure 5 shows an example of an assembled modular scaffolding, of which intermediate fields carrying parapet components 1 as the one of Figures 1A-1C , mounted onto frame units 10 as the one of Figure 3 are visible.
  • pairs of adjacent parapet components 1 can also be mounted, in specific scaffolding portions, with the respective long uprights 22 immediately contiguous.
  • FIGS 4A, 4B and 4C show an alternative embodiment of the parapet of the invention particularly appropriate to be mounted in the so-called "head" portions of the scaffolding.
  • the parapet of said Figures 4A-4C presents an intermediate stringer element 101 arranged in a longitudinal position intermediate to both the lateral uprights 21 and 22. At both ends of such intermediate stringer 101, hooks 51 and 52 are arranged.
  • toe-stop component 200 - that will be described in detail in the following - is arranged.
  • a further difference of the parapet 100 with respect to the parapet 1 is that the first presents an horizontal pin 531 located near the lower vertex of the triangular structure which is arranged, in the setup configuration of the scaffolding, substantially parallel to the plane defined by the overall structure of oblong elements and which, in the example considered here, is not provided with antislippage means.
  • the aforementioned horizontal pin 531 is free to slide inside a tubular seat 532 which is duly slotted and fixed with (in particular welded to) the lower part of the triangular structure.
  • To the pin 531 it is fixed (preferably welded to) to one end a washer 533 that works as a blocking element while on the opposite end there is a lever 534, it too fixed with the pin 531.
  • the pin 531 enters the horizontal bush 93 of the scaffolding so impeding any movement of the parapet, then, with a rotation movement, the lever 534 lowers creating, also in this case, an antislippage safety.
  • Parapet 100 setup modes are substantially analogous to those of parapet 1 and self-explicative with reference to Figures 4A-4C and therefore a further description thereof will be omitted.
  • Figures 6A-6C refer to a toe-stop component which is associable to a frame unit, for example the one already described with reference to Figure 3 .
  • This toe-stop component in the present embodiment is in the form of a shaped integral slab.
  • the latter presents, in particular, two opposed transverse end portions, respectively 201 and 202, substantially folded as a squared "C" shape and an indented central portion 203 substantially shaped as an arrowhead.
  • two transverse slits are provided (one of which visible in Figure 6B, 6C and denoted by 204), which slits cross the arrowhead portion 203 and are apt to allow the passage of a mounting flange 501 of a frame associated with the toe-stop component 200 itself.
  • portion 203 allows a structure stiffening, but has, at the same time, elastic capabilities that help setup.
  • FIG. 6B shows a connection 500 for the toe-stop associated with a frame and comprising two flanges 501.
  • This connection 500 is of removable type and is conceived for traditional portal frames.
  • Figure 6C shows, instead, a two flanges connection, in this case indicated by 510 and even in this case demountable. If necessary, this connection 510 can be removed to allow the use of traditional toe-stop tables.
  • Both the toe-stop component and the parapet component are lightweight components.
