Description

The present invention relates to a packaging bag of a biological substance, such as animal semen.

It also relates to a strip formed of a juxtaposition of such bags, and a set consisting of a bag and a hooking or suspension support.

By the term "biological substance" is meant any substance wholly or partially of human or animal origin, which is in pulverulent, pasty or liquid solid form.

In the document EP-B-1 317 224 is described a bag of the type mentioned above, which is particularly suitable for packaging animal semen, in particular of porcine origin.

With reference to the figure 1 of this document, it is found that the bag comprises, on either side of a filling duct located in its upper part, two circular openings.

These openings are able to allow the suspension of the bag to a support device, for filling.

This filling can be done manually or automatically, using a machine.

For manual filling, an empty bag is suspended from a support device which comprises at least a pair of substantially horizontal and parallel fingers, on which the bag is "fitted". In a way, the bag is "suspended" from these fingers, by said openings. Of course, the size of the openings is sized to that of the fingers.

The filling is more generally carried out using an automated machine, such as that sold by the applicant under the trade name "GTB 1000".

For this filling, the bags are in the form of a strip in which these bags are contiguous and integral with each other by one of their long sides.

This band is brought step by step in front of a support device having several pairs of fingers, and this device is moved in the direction of the band, in a direction perpendicular to the plane thereof, so that the fingers are introduced in contiguous bag openings.

Of course, the spacing between a given pair of fingers is substantially equal to the spacing between the openings of the same bag.

In order that this operation takes place under the best conditions, the fingers are generally given a tapered shape, so that they can cooperate with the openings, even when a defect of positioning and / or alignment of the band occurs.

Despite this, there are some extreme situations in which the fingers do not position well, so that the "suspension" of the bags is not satisfactory, or is not performed.

Furthermore, during the filling operation of a bag, a rigid tube fed with seed is introduced between the two plastic walls which constitutes it, to come to be positioned in its filling duct.

This tube is an extra thickness that causes traction of the surrounding plastic material. Due to these efforts, it tends to deform, especially at the aforementioned openings. This deformation is not acceptable because it can affect the subsequent welding of the bag which is carried transversely to the filling duct, in order to seal it.

In US 2006/0068369 is described a bag according to the preamble of claim 1. In US Patent 5100564 reference is made to a bag with oblong openings.

La présente vise notamment à pallier les difficultés indiquées plus hautThe present aims in particular to overcome the difficulties mentioned above

Thus, the present invention thus relates to a packaging bag of a biological substance, such as animal semen, which is formed of two plastic walls contiguous so as to define a pocket for receiving said substance, and which comprises, communicating with this pocket, a conduit for its filling, this bag further comprising at least one pair of openings disposed on either side of said conduit, for its suspension, through these openings, to fingers complementary to a device for support.

US 2003/191005 A1 discloses a bag for containing blood, comprising oblong openings on either side of a filling duct, wherein the openings form a non-right angle with the axis of said duct.

At least one of these openings has an oblong shape, extends perpendicular to said conduit.

It is remarkable that said opening has a hard point area in which it has a reduced width.

Thanks to the presence of this oblong shape, the establishment of the bag on the fingers of a support device will be facilitated. In addition, when introducing a filling pipe, the "latitude" of movement that gives this form to the bag compensates for the efforts to which it is subjected.

  • ladite ouverture a, vue de face, la forme de deux cercles qui se chevauchent partiellement ;
  • le sachet comporte un conduit de vidage de ladite substance ;
  • ledit conduit s'étend, relativement à la poche, sensiblement en regard dudit conduit de remplissage ;
According to other advantageous and nonlimiting features:
  • said opening has, in front view, the shape of two partially overlapping circles;
  • the bag comprises a conduit for emptying said substance;
  • said duct extends, relative to the pocket, substantially opposite said filling duct;
  • in said emptying duct is fitted a cannula.

The invention also relates to a strip of packaging bags of a biological substance, consisting of a juxtaposition of bags in accordance with one of the preceding characteristics.

It also relates to an assembly consisting of a bag conforming to one of the above characteristics, and a support for hanging or suspending such a bag which comprises at least one pair of suspension fingers, characterized by the fact that the relative spacing between these fingers is equal to the shortest spacing between said openings.

  • la figure 1 est une vue de face d'un sachet conforme à l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 est un schéma destiné à illustrer le principe de suspension d'un sachet sur un dispositif de support ;

The bag shown in the accompanying figures is more particularly intended to receive animal semen, especially porcine.

Sa structure générale est de type connu. En l'occurrence, ce sachet 1 est formé de deux parois en matière plastique 10 et 11, de contour rectangulaire allongé et d'axe longitudinal X-X'.Its general structure is of known type. In this case, this bag 1 is formed of two plastic walls 10 and 11, of elongated rectangular contour and longitudinal axis X-X '.

These two walls are preferably made of two separate sheets. However, one can make use of one and the same sheet that has been folded on itself.

Chaque feuille peut être mono ou multicouches.Each sheet can be single or multilayer.

On the figure 1 , the longitudinal sides (parallel to the X-X 'axis) of the sheets are referenced 13, while its small transverse sides are referenced 12. It will be noted that the sheet 11 is slightly longer than the sheet 10, so that the upper side 12 rear slightly exceeds the front side. This facilitates the opening of the bag by slight separation of the leaves, in particular to have access to a filling duct that will be described later.

The walls are contiguous to each other to delimit in particular a pocket P for receiving the substance. In this example, the walls are joined by welding. However, in an alternative embodiment, it could be used another technique, including gluing.

The zones in which the walls are contiguous bear the general reference 14 and are identified by black dots in the drawings.

In the embodiment of the figure 1 these zones 14 comprise, in the upper part of the bag, two large regions 140 of generally rectangular shape, arranged symmetrically on either side of the longitudinal median axis X-X '. Between them extends a non-welded zone 15 which constitutes a conduit for filling the pocket P with seed.

These regions are provided with openings 3 and 4, which will be discussed later.

The regions 140 continue down the bag by a weld line 141 of small width which extends in the vicinity and parallel to each of the long sides 13 of the bag. Each of these lines is connected, in the lower part of the bag, by a wide region 142, of approximately rectangular shape.

In a well known manner, a cannula 17 is fitted, in particular by force, into this duct.

At the bottom of the duct 16 also extends an additional non-welded zone 18 which communicates directly with the lower opening of the cannula 17, in particular to facilitate access thereto.

As mentioned above, regions 140 have openings 3 and 4.

These openings allow to hang or suspend the bag to a support, especially for filling.

To the figure 2 is shown very schematically an example of such a support 2, seen from above. It comprises an elongate body 20 of which extend in the same direction, the fingers 21 of a suspension bag.

The distance between two fingers, referenced d to the figure 2 , corresponds to the shortest spacing between openings 3 and 4, as can be seen in figure 1 .

Dans le cas représenté ici, l'ouverture 3 est circulaire, d'un diamètre qui correspond, sensiblement et au jeu près, au diamètre le plus important de chacun des doigts 21.In the case shown here, the opening 3 is circular, of a diameter which corresponds, substantially and to the game, to the largest diameter of each of the fingers 21.

According to the invention, the second opening 4 consists of a hole of oblong shape (we can also speak of a light) whose major axis YY 'is directed transversely, that is to say perpendicular to the X-X 'axis.

By the term "oblong (ue)" is meant a form whose longitudinal extent is greater than its transversal extent.

In the embodiment of the figure 1 the opening 4 is made by punching one of the regions 140 of the bag 1, by means of a punch with a circular contour, this punching being carried out twice consecutively, so that the second punching partially covers the surface of the impression of the first punch. We arrive at a shape that looks like the number "8".

Cette configuration est plus particulièrement visible à la figure 3a où l'on a référencé par 40 et 41 les contours circulaires de chaque "portion" de l'ouverture 4.This configuration is more particularly visible at the figure 3a where is referenced by 40 and 41 the circular contours of each "portion" of the opening 4.

Ces saillies 42, comme on l'indiquera plus loin, matérialisent et constituent un "point dur" au niveau de cette ouverture 4.Reference 42 is given to protrusions which extend into the intermediate zone of the opening, of width less than the widest zone of each of the parts 40, 41. These protrusions 42, as will be indicated below, materialize and constitute a "hard point" at the level of this opening 4.

The center distance d that has been mentioned above therefore corresponds to the distance between the axis of the opening 3 and the axis of the opening 4 at the portion 40 which is closest to the axis X. X '.

This maneuver is referenced by the arrow g in the figure. In an alternative embodiment in which this implementation is automated, the bag is part of a band of juxtaposed sachets and it passes step-by-step in front of a support 2 which is made to cooperate with one of the bags , by moving in the direction of the arrow f .

In the event that the support and / or the bag are poorly positioned, it happens that the fingers are not strictly opposite openings 3 and 4.

Now according to the present invention and as shown in figure 4 , the oblong shape of the opening 4 overcomes this difficulty to the extent that there is an additional space (in this case the portion 41) for a perfect cooperation between the finger 21 of the support and this opening.

In other words, the oblong shape of the opening gives a certain latitude for the establishment of the bag on the support.

The embodiment of the figure 3b is differentiated from the previous only in that it comprises, facing one another, and halfway length of the opening 4, two tongues 43 integrally 43 with the rest of the bag.

In these embodiments, both in the figure 3a that figure 3b the zones, projections or intermediate tongues of the opening 4, which give this opening a reduced width, constitute a zone of hard point which prevents the bag from being easily moved in translation, when this is not possible; not wanted.

In other words, the "latitude" of movement given by the opening 4 is actually used only when necessary.

To the Figures 5a and 5b is shown, in the form of two separate steps, the operation of introducing a tube 5 for filling the bag.

This tube 5 is connected to a storage bottle, not shown, and to a pump, for example of the peristaltic type.

For filling, the tube 5 is moved in the direction of the arrow h so as to be introduced between the sheets 10 and 11, facing the filling duct 15.

Le remplissage est alors effectué lorsque ce tube occupe la position de la figure 5.The filling is then performed when this tube occupies the position of the figure 5 .

Because the two sheets 10 and 11 of the bag are of a generally rigid material and, in addition, integral with each other in many places, the introduction of the tube 5, which is an extra thickness, leads to put the bag under tension. This results in deformation zones illustrated by the two arrows j .

However, thanks to the presence of the opening 4 of oblong shape, this phenomenon is limited or reduced, since this deformation is compensated for by a sliding of the opening 4 in question along the associated finger 21. The figure 5b represents an extreme position of the finger 21, in which the tensions have been compensated by displacement of the opening 4.

The closure of the bag after filling, which is performed by transverse welding at the duct 15, can then be implemented under the best conditions.

To the figure 6 is very schematically represented a strip of bags B consisting of a juxtaposition of sachets 1 such as that illustrated in FIG. figure 1 .

These bags are secured to each other along a connecting line 19 of low mechanical strength, which is the area corresponding to one of the longitudinal edges 15 of each bag.

To the figure 7 is partially represented a sachet 1, filled with semen, and connected to a porcine insemination probe.

This probe, referenced 6, comprises a tube 60 of semi-rigid plastic material, with at one of its ends, a pad 61 of foam material.

This is a structure generally known per se.

In order to connect the probe to the bag, in order to inseminate a sow, the sachet is opened so as to disengage the lower end of the cannula 17 and the probe 6 is connected to the cannula 17, by the end of the tube 60 opposite the pad 61.

La semence s'écoule alors par gravité, de la poche P jusqu'à la sonde 6.The seed then flows by gravity from pocket P to probe 6.

In order to avoid any backflow of semen, it is quite common for the technician performing the insemination to bend the probe 6 in a zone marked 62 on the figure 8 . This bend thus delimits a part 620 of the tube which communicates with the buffer 61, and a second portion 621 which is connected to the bag.

When this bend is made, the tube unfortunately tends to return naturally to its starting position in which the two parts 620 and 621 freely communicate. To avoid this, the inseminator is constantly obliged to hold the probe in the folded position, using one of his hands.

According to the invention, it is possible for it, by grasping the bag 1 and turning it over itself in the direction of the arrow k , to position the oblong opening 4 opposite the bent zone 62 so as to what it comes to surround this area bent.

By slightly forcing the bag in this region, the opening 4 deforms and strongly encloses the bent area, so that the probe is irremediably immobilized in this position.

In an embodiment not shown, the bag 1 could comprise not one, but two oblong openings.

Furthermore, the invention naturally applies to any packaging bag, whether or not it has a separate emptying duct of the filling duct.
