    - bringing the composite box to the repository of said sheath (2), and releasing it substantially upstream of its anterior position in said repository, for removal thereof.
  2. Process for constructing a composite cardboard box according to claim 1, characterized in that it consists of:
    - picking up the tray cutout (10) in a storage site (13) of which the soleplate is located at a level below that of the soleplate of the assembly station (15), in which the distance between the two soleplates is at least equal to the vertical dimension of said tray cutout (10) increased by the maximum vertical dimension of a flank of the last;
    - raising said tray cutout (10), between its storage site (13) and said assembly station (15), in a vertical guide passage (17) and according to a movement perpendicular to the forward movement of the sheath (2);
    - allowing said tray cutout (10) to be taken over, at the level of the assembly station (15), by plate-type means (43) equipped with suction cups (42), which plate (43) are capable of being moved along an axis parallel to the axis of the sheath (2) under the effect of an actuator (41) in order to be placed in the active position for handling said tray cutout (10), and said plate is then free during the assembly of the tray cutout (10) and during its assembly with said sheath (2).
  3. Process for constructing a composite cardboard box according to claim 2, characterized in that it consists of:
    - moving the sheath (2) transversally, in its repository, by means of a push member (38) and clamps (39) arranged on the supporting structure of the press (34);
    - folding the flanks (5, 6) of the tray cutouts (10) by placing their tongues (7) on the flanks (6);
    - pressing said tongues (7) on the flanks (6), near the angles of said sheath (2), by means of actuators (55) installed on the matrix (30);
    - pressing the longitudinal flanks (5) of the cutout (10) on the longitudinal sides (8) of the sheath (2) by means of the matrix (30) and the press (34) in order to assemble said tray (3) with said sheath (2), in which said press (34) comprises actuators (37) that act as a counter-pressure;
    - deactivating the means for handling the tray cutout (10);
    - moving the supporting structure of the press (34) and the matrix (30) in order to extract, by means of said clamps (39), the composite box (1) from said matrix;
    - deactivating said clamps (39) in order to release said box (1) in its repository by means of a stop (57) that receives said box (1) at the level of its free peripheral edge, which release is performed upstream of its anterior position on the repository;
    - moving the composite box (1) toward the outlet and pivoting it on a removal conveyor (14) by placing its tray-type base on said conveyor (14).
  4. Machine for implementing the process for constructing a composite box, according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it includes:
    - a conveyor system (12) for transferring the sheath (2), which has been pre-assembled at the forming station, which sheath (2) is transferred with its repository;
    - a storage site (13) for storing the tray cutouts (10);
    - means forming extractor arms (18) for picking up said tray cutouts (10) one by one in said storage site (13) and bringing them to a repository, at the level of the assembly station (15), opposite said sheath (2);
    - means for applying glue to the edges of the longitudinal sides (8) of the sheath (2) and the flanks (5, 6) of the tray cutout (10) as they are moving toward said assembly station (15);
    - a portal frame that is arranged transversally above said conveyor system (12), in the median vertical plane of said assembly station (15), which portal frame, in the form of a beam (32), comprises two mobile structures: - a first structure that has a matrix (30) for shaping the tray cutout (10) and - a second structure that has, in particular, a push member (38) suitable for cooperating with the free periphery of said sheath (2) in order to drive it toward said matrix (30) and cause said sheath (2) to act as a support;
    - means arranged on the matrix (30) in order to press said flanks (5, 6) of the tray cutout (10) on said sheath (2) and press-type means (34), which press (34) is arranged on the supporting structure of said push member (38), upstream of the latter, and is capable of penetrating to the end of said sheath (2) in order to maintain, with suitable actuator-type means (37), a counter-pressure opposite the pressing means in the form of actuators (56) arranged on the matrix (30).
  5. Machine according to claim 4, characterized in that the supporting structures of the matrix (30), on the one hand, and of the push member (38) and the press (34), on the other hand, consist of carriages (31) and (33), respectively, which carriages are mounted on slides, and are each powered by means, for example, of an electric linear motor type.
  6. Machine according to either one of claims 4 or 5, characterized in that the matrix (30) comprises four plates (53) for pushing the flanks (5, 6) and the tongues (7) of the tray cutout (10), which plates (53) comprise an inlet in the form of an arc of circle in order to form a sort of funnel, and these plates are capable of moving in a converging fashion, when actuated by actuators (54), between a position of assembling the cutout and a position of pressing said flanks (5, 6) of the tray cutout (10).
  7. Machine according to claim 6, characterized in that the frame (40) of the matrix (30) comprises means for taking over the tray cutout (10) when it arrives at the level of the assembly station (15), which means consist of a plate (43) equipped with suction cups (42), which plate (43) is capable of moving under the effect of an actuator (41) controlled by an open-center-type valve, which actuator (41) manages said cutout with said suction cups (42), then it is free, accompanying the movement of said cutout (10) and the matrix (30).
  8. Machine according to any one of claim 4 to 7, characterized in that the storage site (13) for the tray cutouts (10) is arranged below the level of the sheath (2) transfer conveyor system (12), parallel thereto, and in that the transfer of each tray cutout (10) is carried out by means of:
    - an extractor arm (18) that is pivotably connected to a vertical shaft (19) located on the edge of said conveyor system (12), and it is moved by suitable actuator-type means (20), or the like, in order to move one-quarter of a circle between the outlet of said storage site (13) and the positioning plane (67) of said tray cutout (10) which is also located on the side of said transfer conveyor (12), parallel thereto,
    - and an ascent system (16) that includes a vertical guide passage (17) and a lifting device (22) for moving each cutout (10) between the lower level corresponding to the level of said storage site (13) for said tray cutouts (10) and the level of the assembly station (15) that corresponds to that of said conveyor system (12).
  9. Machine according to claim 8, characterized in that the lifting device (22) consists of an endless belt-type conveyor (51), which belt (51) comprises a cradle (52) for handling the cutout (10) from below, on the edge of the lower flank (5), and drives it to a level that is substantially higher than that of said lifting device (22) in order to avoid any interference between the latter and the matrix (30).
  10. Machine according to either one of claims 8 or 9, characterized in that the vertical passage (17) for guiding the cutouts (10) consists of lateral guides (21) that are arranged on each side of the lifting device (22) in order to channel the tray cutout (10) as it rises between the level of its storage site (13) and the level of the assembly station (15), which vertical passage (17) comprises two distinct parts:
    - a lower part of which the height corresponds substantially to the dimension of the largest tray cutout (10) format, and which consists of a pair of guides (44) with a U-shaped cross-section arranged opposite one another and of which the posterior, or downstream, wing is stationary so as to act as a bed (46), while the anterior, or upstream, wing forms a flap (47) that can be retracted, by pivoting or lateral movement, in order to enable the passage of said cutout (10) brought by the extractor arm (18) and the deposition thereof on said bed (46), which flap (47) returns to its active guide position before said cutout (10) is released from said extractor arm (18) and before it is taken over by the lifting device (22) and in particular by the active surface of said cradle (52) that pushes said cutout (10) toward the assembly station (15),
    - an upper portion of which the height corresponds to that of the largest tray cutout (10) format, and which consists of a pair of guides (45) with a V-shaped cross-section, also arranged opposite one another, so as to guide said cutout (10) with its lateral edges.
  11. Machine according to claim 10, characterized in that the upper guides (45) of the vertical guide passage (17) can be retracted by actuator-type means (49), which actuators (49) move said guides laterally in order to space them apart and enable the matrix (30) to pass.
  12. Machine according to either one of claims 8 or 11, characterized in that the nozzles (28) responsible for applying glue to the tongues (7) of the tray cutout (10) are arranged at the upper end of the lower guides (44) of the guide passage (17) for said tray cutouts (10), upstream of the upper guides (45).
  13. Machine according to any one of claims 4 to 12, characterized in that the storage site (13) for the tray cutouts (10) includes a soleplate that consists of two chain- or endless belt-type conveyors (63), which conveyors (63) can be independently adjusted transversally and vertically so as to receive tray cutouts (10) of various formats and shapes.
  14. Machine according to claim 13, characterized in that the storage site (13) is borne and pivotably connected by means of a vertical shaft (65) arranged laterally on the external side of said storage site (13), so as to enable it to be retracted and to allow the operator responsible for maintenance or the like to access the sheath (2) transfer conveyor (12), which conveyor system (12) comprises, for example, in front of the assembly station (15), a station for assembling the ½ American box cutout that forms the sheath (2) of the composite box (1).
  15. Machine according to any one of claims 4 to 14, characterized in that the end of the conveyor system (12) comprises a pivoting rack (58) that enables the box (1) lying on said conveyor system (12) to be transferred and pivoted so as to place on the removal conveyor (14), which conveyor (14) is arranged parallel to and below the level of said conveyor system (12).
