Da auch im Zustand der Figuren 1e und 1f die Führungsspuren 480b, 483 noch nicht vollständig parallel sind, führt die Bewegung der Rolleneinheit 476 bezogen auf die Figur 1e nach rechts auch zu einem leichten Absenken des Beinsegments 440. Claims (38)

  1. Item of seating furniture (410), in particular an item of upholstered furniture, comprising
    - a main segment (420) aligned essentially horizontally, on the upper face of which a sitting surface is provided, and
    - a leg segment (440), on the upper face of which a supporting surface is provided, whereby
    - the leg segment (440) can be moved relative to the main segment (420) between a stowed position and a functioning position, whereby it
    - is arranged, when in its functioning position, in front of a front edge of the main segment (420), and is aligned in such a way that the supporting surface is essentially horizontal, and
    - is arranged, when in its stowed position, at least partially underneath the main segment (420), and is tilted with respect to its functioning position,
    and whereby
    - the leg segment (440) is fastened to the main segment (420) by a rigid connecting member (480), whereby the connecting member (480)
    - has a pivoting connection to the main segment (420) or to a base frame of the seating furniture about a swivel axis (401) which is in a fixed position with respect to the main segment (420) or to the base frame of the item of seating furniture, and
    - has a pivoting connection to the leg segment (440) about a second swivel axis (402) which is in a fixed position with respect to the leg segment,
    characterised in that
    - a means of forced guidance (482) is provided by means of which every relative position of the connecting member (480) to the main segment (420) or to the base frame is associated with a defined relative position of the connecting member (480) to the leg segment (440),
    - an end segment (460) is provided, on whose upper face a supporting surface is provided, whereby the end segment (460) can be moved with respect to the leg segment (440) between a stowed position and a functioning position, and whereby, when in its functioning position, it is arranged in front of the front edge of the leg segment (440), and
    - a slider system with a slider (476) is provided,
    - that is operationally coupled through a rigid auxiliary member (470) to the end segment (460), and
    - that is constructed as a first control section (476, 476a) for interaction with a first control track (483), whose position is forcibly coupled to the position of the leg segment (440).
  2. Item of seating furniture (410) according to Claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the second swivel axis (402) when in the stowed position is located horizontally behind the first swivel axis (401).
  3. Item of seating furniture (410) according to Claim 1 or 2,
    characterised in that
    the leg segment (440) can pivot between its stowed position and its functioning position through an angle between 60° and 150°, favourably between 75° and 120°.
  4. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    - the first swivel axis (401) is provided horizontally in the region of the front edge of the main segment (420), and/or
    - the first swivel axis (401) is provided vertically in the region of the level of the lower edge of the main segment (420).
  5. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the first pivot axis (401) is defined by a hinge means that is fastened to the frame (428) of the main segment (420) or to the base frame of the item of furniture.
  6. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the connecting member (480) has an elbowed or bent form.
  7. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    a rigid forced guidance member (482) is provided, which
    - is hinged to the main segment (420) or to a base frame of the item of seating furniture and can pivot about a third swivel axis (403) which is in a fixed position with respect to the main segment (420) or to the base frame of the seating furniture, and
    - is hinged to the leg segment (440) and can pivot about a fourth swivel axis (404) which is in a fixed position with respect to the leg segment (440).
  8. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims, characterised in that
    the second and/or fourth pivot axis (404) is formed by a hinge means that is provided on a cantilever arm (444) extending from a lower side of the leg segment (440) downwards when in the functioning position.
  9. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 7 or 8,
    characterised in that
    - the third pivot axis (403) is arranged behind the first pivot axis (401),
    - the connecting member (480) pivots through an angle between 95° and 150° when changing between the stowed position and the functioning position, and
    - the forced guidance member (482) pivots through an angle between 130° and 180° when changing between the stowed position and the functioning position.
  10. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 7 to 9,
    characterised in that
    - the distance between the third pivot axis (403) and the fourth pivot axis (404) is larger by a factor of between 1.5 and 1.9 than the distance between the first pivot axis (401) and the third pivot axis (403),
    - the distance between the first pivot axis (401) and the second pivot axis (402) is larger by a factor of between 2.9 and 3.3 than the distance between the first pivot axis (401) and the third pivot axis (403), and
    - the distance between the second pivot axis (402) and the fourth pivot axis (404) is larger by a factor of between 2.4 and 2.8 than the distance between the first pivot axis (401) and the third pivot axis (403).
  11. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 7 to 10,
    characterised in that
    the first, second, third and fourth pivot axes (401, 402, 403, 404) are arranged in such a way that the direction in which the connecting member (480) extends and the direction in which the forced guidance member (482) extends, always encloses an angle > 15° when changing from the stowed position to the functioning position of the leg segment (440).
  12. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised by
    a backrest segment that can pivot with respect to the main segment about a backrest axis, whereby the backrest segment is operationally coupled to the leg segment by means of coupling members in such a way that each relative position of the backrest segment with respect to the main segment or to a base frame is associated with a relative positioning of the leg segment with respect to the main segment or base frame.
  13. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    at least two rigid control members are provided each of which incorporates a first hinge section the position of which can be changed by means of an electric motor, and which are attached through a second hinge section each to the leg segment and/or to a rigid connecting member between the main segment and the leg segment and/or to a translatively movable carriage.
  14. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    - a rotary body is provided constructed in such a way that it can rotate about a rotary body axis that is in a fixed position with respect to the main segment or to a base frame of the item of furniture,
    - at least one rigid control member is provided, which is attached through a first hinge section to the rotary body and which is also attached through a second hinge section to the leg segment and/or to a rigid connecting member between the main segment and leg segment and/or to a carriage capable of translative movement and/or to an auxiliary member for indirect movement of the leg segment.
  15. Item of seating furniture according to Claim 14,
    characterised in that
    at least two rigid control members are provided.
  16. Item of seating furniture according to Claim 15,
    characterised in that
    the two control members are attached with each of their second hinge sections to the leg segment.
  17. Item of seating furniture according to Claim 16,
    characterised in that
    - a first control member is attached through its second hinge section to the connecting member, and
    - a second control member is attached through its second hinge section to the leg segment.
  18. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 17,
    characterised in that
    - the axis of the rotary body has an approximately vertical alignment.
  19. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 18,
    characterised in that
    the rotary body is located underneath the seat surface of the main segment.
  20. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 19,
    characterised in that
    the rotary body is operationally coupled to an electric motor that is constructed to turn the rotary body about the rotary body axis.
  21. Item of seating furniture according to Claim 20,
    characterised in that
    the rotary body and the electric motor are constructed as a joint, integral unit, whereby this integral unit incorporates connecting sections for fixing to the main segment and/or to a base frame of the item of seating furniture.
  22. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 21,
    characterised in that
    the rotary body is operationally coupled to a manually operable handle constructed to turn the rotary body about the rotary body axis.
  23. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 22,
    characterised in that
    the rotary body, when rotated to a position in which the leg segment is arranged in its functioning position and/or when rotated to a position in which the leg segment is in its stowed position, is adjacent to a stop that provides at least an indirect limit to the rotary movement.
  24. Item of seating furniture according to Claim 23,
    characterised in that
    the rotary body and the first control member and/or the second control member are constructed and arranged in such a way that when the leg segment is in its functioning position a force acting on the first or second control member generates a torque pressing the rotary body against the stop.
  25. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 24,
    characterised by
    a backrest segment that can pivot with respect to the main segment about a backrest axis, whereby the backrest segment is operationally coupled by a means of coupling to the rotary body in such a way that each relative position of the backrest segment with respect to the main segment or to a base frame is associated with a rotary position of the rotary body.
  26. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the end segment (460) is constructed in such a way that it can pivot about an end segment axis (406) with respect to the leg segment (440), whereby the end segment pivot axis (406) is in a fixed position relative to the end segment (460) and relative to the leg segment (440).
  27. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the end segment (460) when in its stowed position is rotated with respect to the leg segment (440) by an angle between about 50° and 130°, and/or is approximately parallel to the main segment (420).
  28. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the first control track (483) and the slider (476, 476a) are matched to one another in such a way that when the leg segment (440) and the end segment (460) are moved from the stowed position into the functioning position
    - during a first phase of movement the leg segment (440) pivots with respect to the main segment (420) by at least 70° in the direction of the functioning position, while the end segment (460) pivots with respect to the leg segment (440) by a maximum of 50° in the direction of the functioning position, and
    - in a second phase of movement, the leg segment (440) and the end segment (460) each reach their functioning position.
  29. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the first control track (483) is provided on the forced guidance member (482), on the connecting member or on the leg segment.
  30. Item of seating furniture (410) according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the auxiliary member (470) comprises a second control section (476, 476b) that is movable along a second control track (480b), whereby the second control track (480b) is favourably provided on the connecting member (480) or on the forced guidance member.
  31. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    the auxiliary member is attached to the main segment or to a base frame of the seating furniture by means of an intermediate member with a pivoting attachment to the auxiliary member.
  32. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    on the rotary body a first rigid end segment control member is provided, which is attached by a first hinge section to the rotary body and is operationally coupled to the end segment in such a way that a movement of the rotary body causes a relative movement of the end segment with respect to the leg segment.
  33. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 14 to 32,
    characterised in that
    the first hinge sections of the control member are at least in part
    - hinged to the rotary body at various angular relationships to the axis of the rotary body, and/or
    - hinged to the rotary body at various distances from the axis of the rotary body.
  34. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised in that
    when the leg segment is in the functioning position
    - a connecting line between the axis of the rotary body and a first attachment point of the first control member encloses an angle of not more than 20° with a main direction of extension of the first control member,
    - a connecting line between the axis of the rotary body and a first attachment point of the second control member encloses an angle of not more than 20° with a main direction of extension of the second control member, and/or
    - a connecting line between the axis of the rotary body and a first attachment point of the first end segment control member encloses an angle of between 60° and 120° with the main direction of extension of the first end segment control member.
  35. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 32 to 34,
    characterised in that
    the first end segment control member is connected with its second hinge section, in such a way that it can pivot, to a second end segment control member (93; 193; 293; 393), which is attached with its first hinge section to a first end segment control member (92; 192; 292; 392) and with a second hinge section at the end segment (60; 160; 260; 360).
  36. Item of seating furniture according to one of Claims 32 to 35,
    characterised in that
    a means of guidance is provided which is in a fixed position with respect to the main segment or to a base frame or to the leg segment, or is forcibly guided according to the relative positioning of the leg segment with respect to the main segment, whereby the first end segment control member is mounted on this means of guidance and is able to slide.
  37. Item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims,
    characterised by
    a base frame, whereby the main segment is movable with respect to the base frame.
  38. Fitting for an item of seating furniture according to one of the foregoing claims, whereby
    - the fitting comprises first means of fastening for fixing to a main segment or to a base frame of an item of seating furniture and second means of fastening for fixing to a leg segment of an item of seating furniture, and
    - the second means of fastening for fixing the leg segment can change its position relative to the first means of fastening for attaching the main segment between a stowed position and a functioning position, in such a way that the leg segment
    - is located when in its functioning position in front of a front edge of the main segment, and is aligned in such a way that the support surface is essentially horizontal, and
    - is located when in its stowed position at least in part underneath the main segment, and is tilted with respect to the functioning position,
    and whereby
    the fitting comprises a rigid connecting member, whereby the rigid connecting member
    - is attached to the first fastening section in such a way that it can pivot about a first pivoting axis that is in a fixed position with respect to the first fastening section, and
    - is attached to the second fastening section such that it can pivot about a second pivoting axis that is in a fixed position with respect to the second fastening section,
    characterised in that
    - means of forced guidance are provided through which every position of the connecting member relative to the first means of fastening for fixing the position of the main segment or to the base frame is associated with a defined position of the connecting member relative to the second means of fastening for fixing the position of the leg segment,
    - the fitting by which an end segment is attached is constructed in such a way that the end segment can move relative to the means of fastening for fixing the position of the leg segment between a stowed position and a functioning position, and in such a way that the end segment, when in its functioning position, is located in front of the front edge of the leg segment, and
    - a slider system with a slider is provided
    - that is operationally coupled through a rigid auxiliary member to the end segment, and
    - that is constructed as a first control section for interaction with a first control track, whose position is forcibly coupled to the position of the means of fastening for fixing the position of the leg segment.
