Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an outdoor floor covering consisting of rectangular floor panels resting on elastic substrates.
Known such outdoor flooring have rectangular floor tiles in the format of about 60 x 30 cm of stone (granite), concrete or ceramic, resting in the region of their corners on elastic padding pads. To avoid the ingress of water, dirt, etc. in the butt joints they must be sealed on all four sides, which is disadvantageous. As a result of supporting the floor panels only at their corners they can only have a relatively small area for a given thickness, as they would be prone to breakage at too large support intervals, which is also disadvantageous.
The aim of the invention is the elimination of the above disadvantages, ie the guarantee of an outdoor flooring made of large format panels whose joints do not have to be completely or not necessarily sealed.
This object is achieved with an outdoor floor covering of the type mentioned in the present invention, characterized in that the elastic substrates are designed as water-repellent, substantially parallel bands arranged with substantially rectangular cross-section and have a center distance, one of the two outer dimensions of the floor panels or an integer part thereof equivalent.
The fact that in the inventive arrangement of the water-repellent tapes parallel to them butt joints of the floor panels are located approximately in mid-band, the seal is unnecessary, although it can still be done. Since the center distance of the bands either one of the two outer dimensions of the bottom plates or an integer divisor thereof, large format plates, eg 2.5 x 0.7 m or 3 x 2 m, find application, the thickness of which corresponds approximately to those of the known small format plates, ie about 2 to 3 cm, without the risk of breakage. Since the bands may have a width of about 50 mm and a thickness of 5 mm, resulting in a total thickness of the outer floor covering, which in any case not greater than that of conventional flooring is what proves to be an advantage especially in renovation work (replacement of old and / or brittle and / or faulty balcony or terrace coverings by new ones).
The outdoor flooring according to the invention can be installed on any surface: either on a screed or on a rafter construction, in which the rafter spacing corresponds approximately to the distance of the bands. As a rule, the subfloor is sealed off from the outer floor covering by a foil. In this case, it is with regard to a quick and cost-saving installation of advantage if the tapes are already mounted on such a backing (sealing) foil.
As can be seen from the two drawing figures,
The joints located between the
If the subfloor should be sealed with a foil, the
