Um eine optimale Druckqualität zu erhalten, müssen diese relativen Lagen wie Register und Passer vom Drucker regelmäßig überprüft werden. Zur Überprüfung von Passer und Register gibt es entsprechende Messeinrichtungen, welche jedoch lediglich im Nachhinein feststellen können, dass Positionsabweichungen aufgetreten sind.
