Definitions
- the invention relates to a rubber sleeve for a printing press. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing a rubber sleeve for a printing press.
- a rigid, circumferentially closed or continuous carrier sleeve made of metal or composite material is provided, wherein on this carrier sleeve successively more continuous layers of the rubber sleeve are applied. This is preferably done in a so-called coating method.
- a rigid, circumferentially closed or continuous carrier sleeve made of metal or composite material and further provided as a semi-finished product a blanket having a at least two-layer structure, wherein a blank of the blanket is wrapped around the rigid support sleeve and firmly connected to the rigid support sleeve.
- abutting edges of the blanket must be joined together to prevent the ingress of solutions and / or color, for which purpose a sealing material is introduced flush with the surface of the blanket according to the prior art in an air gap formed between the abutting edges, and then sanding blanket and sealing material become.
- the sealing material continues to be an impurity or an interruption in terms of printing technology, so that no continuous pressure is possible there.
- Such rubber sleeves have a limited lifespan, since they can absorb the loads occurring during operation only inadequate.
- the present invention is based on the problem to provide a novel rubber sleeve and a novel method for producing the same.
- the sealing material is introduced to form a groove in the air gap formed between the abutting edges.
- the groove continues to form an air gap, which substantially at least partially interrupts the outer pressure layer, possibly also layers further inward.
- a significantly longer life for a rubber sleeve can be realized because the same can better absorb the pressure acting on the same in the printing operation.
- a rubber sleeve designed according to the invention is significantly less susceptible to both mechanical destruction and to chemical destruction than rubber sleeves known from practice.
- the impact zone formed between the abutting edges of the blanket blanket is more resistant to mechanical and chemical stresses, ultimately leading to a significantly extended rubber sleeve life.
- no continuous pressure over the area of the air gap is possible.
- Fig. 1 shows in section a cross section through a known from the prior art rubber sleeve 10 for non-continuous pressure, which comprises a rigid support sleeve 11 and a wound around the support sleeve 11 and firmly connected to the support sleeve 11 blank blanket 12.
- the sealing material 18 is flush with the blanket 12 introduced into the air gap 17, a surface 20 of the sealing material 18 thus concludes flush with a surface 21 of the blanket 12 from.
- the sealing material 18 is made of a different material than the functional layer 14 and the base layer 13 and thus provides printing technology an impurity over which can not be printed continuously and registerrotary, for example, in terms of the gap possibly existing printing plates, must be arranged in the printing press ,
- Such known from the prior art rubber sleeve 10 is preferably completely ground, so both in the region of the surface 21 of the blanket 12 and in the region of the surface 20 of the sealing material 18, whereby the surface 20 of the sealing material 18 in known from the prior art Kunststoffsleeves is open-pored, so that media such as ink, dampening solution or detergent can penetrate into the sealing material 18 and destroy it. Furthermore forces in the circumferential direction exert a high mechanical load on the adhesion between the sealing material 18 and the rubber blanket 12. This mechanical and chemical stress reduces the life of rubber sleeves known from practice.
- Fig. 2 shows in section a cross section through a rubber sleeve 22 according to the invention for non-continuous printing, to avoid unnecessary repetition in connection with the rubber sleeve 22 of the invention
- Fig. 2 same reference numbers are used for the same components as in connection with the known from the prior art rubber sleeve 10 of Fig. 1 and will be discussed below only on such details, by which the invention differs from the prior art.
- the sealing material 18 is introduced to form a reduced air gap in the form of a groove 19 in the formed between the abutting edges 15, 16 of the blanket 12 air gap 17 in rubber sleeve 22 according to the invention. Accordingly, a surface 20 of the sealing material 18 is set back radially inward relative to a surface 21 of the blanket 12 at least in sections, preferably completely. At most in the immediate connection region of the sealing material 18 to the abutting edges 15, 16, the surface 20 of the sealing material 18 is flush with the surface 21 of the blanket 12 from. But at least the outer functional layer 14 remains interrupted by an air gap, in the example after Fig. 2 also a part of the base layer 13.
- the surface 20 of the sealing material 19 is formed at least in sections, in particular completely, smooth and closed-pored. This ensures that no media such as printing ink and / or dampening solution and / or detergent can get into the sealing material 18 and destroy it chemically. Due to the inventive contouring of the sealing material 18 as a groove 19 forces acting in the circumferential direction have no point of attack, so that the mechanical stress of the sealing material 18 in the rubber sleeve 22 according to the invention is significantly lower than in the known from the prior art rubber sleeve 10. Overall, thereby the life of Rubber sleeve 22 according to the invention can be significantly increased.
- the sealing material 18 is preferably a compressible material.
- the procedure is such that first a stiff carrier sleeve 11 and a blank of a blanket 12 are provided.
- the blank of the blanket 12 is wrapped around the rigid support sleeve 11 and connected to the carrier sleeve 11.
- a sealing material 18 is filled in a liquid-like or pasty state, wherein in the still liquid-like or pasty sealing material 18, a groove 19 is introduced. Subsequently, the sealing material 18 is cured while maintaining the groove 19.

Description
Dabei zeigt:
- Fig. 1:
