Method of fitting a button (15) of a device (1) for actuating an element of an item of sanitary ware with a kit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that with the collar of the fitting aid a front surface (35) of the rosette (12) is covered, so that said fitting aid (36) before the button is mounted serves as protection element for the rosette (12) and in that for fitting the button (15) the fitting aid (36) is removed from the rosette (12) and that the button (15) is fitted with the fitting aid (36).
  8. Method according to Claim 7, characterized in that the button (15) is fixed to the receiving part (8) by a turning movement.
  9. Method according to Claim 8, characterized in that the button (15) may be connected to the receiving part (8) at different depth positions and in that the fitting aid (36) determines a predetermined depth position of the button (15).
  10. Method according to one of Claims 7 to 9, characterized in that the fitting aid (36) remains temporarily on the device (1) as building protection after fitting of the button (15).
  11. Method according to one of the claims 7 to 10, wherein the fitting aid (36) is after the button (15) has been fitted removable from said button by means of a pushing movement of the button.
