Definitions
- the invention relates to a device against the propagation of explosions, in particular dust explosions, in a conduit, in a channel or in a shaft, for example in an elevator, a bucket elevator, a transport shaft or a pipeline.
- DE 38 50 438 T3 and DE 23 47 870 are known devices against the propagation of explosions, especially dust explosions.
- the devices have triggering agents and extinguishing agents.
- the extinguishing agents are arranged in an extinguishing agent container.
- the release means are adapted to receive at least a portion of the kinetic energy of the blast's blast wave. By means of the absorbed energy, the release means can cause an opening of the extinguishing agent container and thus cause the expulsion of the extinguishing agent from the extinguishing agent container.
- triggering means differently trained sensors or detectors are described in the three documents, which are connected via a signal line to a detonator or a valve which breaks up the extinguishing agent container or opens the extinguishing agent container.
- the sensors or detectors provided as triggering means are usually arranged away from the extinguishing agent container in the shaft, duct or duct and convert the kinetic energy of the explosion wave into an electrical signal which causes the extinguishing agent container to open.
- the distance between the trigger means and the extinguishing agent container is such that the extinguishing agent is spread in the duct, duct or duct as soon as the explosion wave with the burning gases or burning materials reaches the extinguishing agent container.
- a disadvantage is that the sensors or detectors provided as triggering means generally require an auxiliary electric power for operation. If the supply can not be ensured with this, the device can not be operated fail-safe.
- a further disadvantage is that the electrical conduction between the triggering means and the extinguishing agent container, via which the trigger signal is transmitted, may be damaged during the continuous operation of the duct, duct or duct for conveying the preferably powdered material. - the present invention has for its object to improve a device of the type mentioned so that can be dispensed with triggering means that require an electrical power supply, and an electrical signal transmission.
- the device should make do without a greater distance between the triggering means and the extinguishing agent.
- the triggering means is suitable and adapted to receive at least part of the kinetic energy of a blast leading to the explosion and is suitable and arranged to open the extinguishing agent container by means of the absorbed energy and the extinguishing agent from the Extinguish extinguishing agent tank until a second pressure wave arrives at the device, this second pressure wave is the shaft in which the combustion takes place.
- the invention makes use of the fact that an explosion wave, ie a pressure wave in which the combustion takes place, leads a first pressure wave with a wave front.
- This first advancing pressure wave and in particular the wavefront of this first pressure wave announces the actual explosion wave with its wavefront, which is thus the temporally second pressure wave or wavefront.
- the time duration between the first advancing pressure wave or wavefront and the explosion wave or second wavefront may be 20 to 30 ms. This period of time between the pressure waves or wavefronts is sufficient to use in a device according to the invention the kinetic energy which has taken the triggering means from the first pressure wave, for opening the extinguishing agent container and for expelling the extinguishing agent from the extinguishing agent container.
- the triggering means is a purely mechanical triggering means, so that can be dispensed with auxiliary electrical energy.
- the triggering means advantageously has a pivotably mounted first element, which is suitable and adapted to receive the kinetic energy of the leading first pressure wave and convert it into its own kinetic energy.
- the first element may be pivotally mounted about an axis perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the explosion and is pivoted about the pivotal axis upon actuation of the device by the kinetic energy received.
- the first element of the triggering means may be rigidly connected to at least one second element, the second element be suitable and set up to open the extinguishing agent container with sufficient kinetic energy of the first element.
- the extinguishing agent container may be designed so that it is completely or partially destroyed by the opening means and in particular the second element of the triggering means when opening.
- the triggering means may comprise a pivotally mounted flap.
- the flap may have a surface forming the first element which is exposed in the conduit, the channel or the shaft leading compression wave. Further, the flap may have an edge forming the second element that opens the extinguishant container upon receipt of sufficient kinetic energy by the first element. The edge may be provided with prongs which tear or destroy the extinguishing agent container.
- the device may comprise a venting means, which is suitable and arranged, a first area in which the first element pivots when triggered, upon triggering, d. H. to vent when swiveling in the flap.
- the venting means may be a venting channel or a venting line starting in the first area.
- vent passage or the vent line may open in a portion of the duct, duct, or duct downstream of the triggering means.
- the triggering means comprises a pivotable rupture element of a rupture disk.
- the extinguishing agent container may be a cartridge.
- the extinguishing agent container is replaceable.
- the triggering means of a device according to the invention may be suitable and arranged to release at least one outlet opening of the extinguishing agent container by means of the absorbed energy.
- the exit opening may be a nozzle or a slot.
- the triggering means may be suitable and arranged to generate an overpressure in the extinguishing agent container for expelling the extinguishing agent from the extinguishing agent container.
- the extinguishing agent container can be made in a particularly preferred embodiment of the device from a material to be transported in the line, the channel or the shaft.
- the extinguishing agent container may be made of foods, in particular of flour, sugar, salt or other powdery foods.

- the triggering means of a device according to the invention may be suitable and configured to open the extinguishing agent container at a defined triggering pressure by means of the absorbed kinetic energy and to expel the extinguishing agent from the extinguishing agent container.
- One or more devices of the aforementioned type may be arranged in a conduit, a channel or a shaft. It is possible that the devices are arranged in the propagation direction of the pressure wave one behind the other. It is also possible that the devices are arranged opposite each other.
- the device 1 has a housing 5, which comprises a hood 50, 51, a frame 52 and an open back 53. While the front and the sides of the housing 5 are delimited by the hood 50, 51, the back is one third open. Two thirds of the back of the case is closed with a flap 2.
- the device 1 is used with the back in a housing shape corresponding recess of a shaft, channel or a conduit. Through holes 521 in the frame 52 of the housing 5, the housing can be screwed to walls of the channel, the pipe or the shaft.
- the hood is formed by two side surfaces 51 which have approximately a triangular shape in a first region and approximately the shape of a circular sector in a second region.
- the housing is attached to the channel, the conduit or the shaft so that the approximately triangular areas of the side faces against the possible propagation direction of the explosion wave, while the circular sector-shaped areas of the side surface are aligned in the propagation direction of the explosion wave.
- the hood 50, 51 is formed by a front wall which extends between edges of the side walls 51 and is approximately planar in an area abutting the approximately triangular areas of the side walls 51 and in the sector-shaped area of the side walls 51 bent in a cylindrical arc in cross-section.

- the movement of the flap 2 is triggered by the pressure exerted on the shaft side, channel side or line side surface 21 of the flap 2.
- This surface 21 forms the first element which absorbs the kinetic energy of the pressure wave and converts it into kinetic energy of the flap 2.
- the tines 53 stroke along in the FIGS. 1 to 5 not shown extinguishing cartridge and / or strikes the extinguishing cartridge. As a result, the extinguishing agent cartridge is torn open and destroyed.
- the destruction of the extinguishing cartridge causes the extinguishing agent contained therein to be released and spread in the device and the duct, duct or duct.
- the propagation is assisted and / or effected by the air turbulences, by the advancing pressure wave and in particular the pivoting movement of the flap 2.
- the flap 2 when triggering the device 1 according to the invention can be achieved, it must be prevented that a braking air cushion forms between the front wall 50 and the flap 2, which delays the pivotal movement of the flap 2.
- the area between the front wall 50 and the flap 2 is connected via a vent channel 6 to an area downstream of the extinguishing cartridge.
- This channel is bounded on the one hand by the arcuately bent portion of the front wall 50 and on the other hand by a likewise curved and arranged on the inside of the front wall 50 channel wall 61.
- the flap 2 can thus displace the air between the flap 2 and the front wall 50 during the pivoting movement and be discharged through the channel 6.
- the exiting air from the channel 6, then supports the distribution of the extinguishing agent, which exits the cartridge and causes an additional Turbulence of the extinguishing agent in the channel, shaft or pipe.
- the extinguishing agent exiting the extinguishing cartridge may advantageously be the same material carried in the duct, duct or duct.
- the extinguishing agent causes before the approach of the actual explosion wave with the burning gases or materials overfatting, ie, an oxygen displacement, which is why the combustion of the conveyed material is stifled at the approach of the actual explosion wave in the range of the device according to the invention. The ignition of further material and associated further expansion and explosion can thus be avoided.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device against the propagation of explosions, in particular dust explosions, in a conduit, in a channel or in a shaft, for example in an elevator, a bucket elevator, a transport shaft or a pipeline.
For this purpose, the sensors or detectors provided as triggering means are usually arranged away from the extinguishing agent container in the shaft, duct or duct and convert the kinetic energy of the explosion wave into an electrical signal which causes the extinguishing agent container to open. The distance between the trigger means and the extinguishing agent container is such that the extinguishing agent is spread in the duct, duct or duct as soon as the explosion wave with the burning gases or burning materials reaches the extinguishing agent container.
The devices described in the three cited documents and also other similarly designed devices have several disadvantages. A disadvantage is that the sensors or detectors provided as triggering means generally require an auxiliary electric power for operation. If the supply can not be ensured with this, the device can not be operated fail-safe. A further disadvantage is that the electrical conduction between the triggering means and the extinguishing agent container, via which the trigger signal is transmitted, may be damaged during the continuous operation of the duct, duct or duct for conveying the preferably powdered material. This too led to a failure of the device. Finally, an arrangement according to the prior art can not function due to cost, if the explosion between the sensor and the extinguishing agent container arises.
Hier setzt die vorliegende Erfindung an.This is where the present invention begins.
The present invention has for its object to improve a device of the type mentioned so that can be dispensed with triggering means that require an electrical power supply, and an electrical signal transmission. In addition, the device should make do without a greater distance between the triggering means and the extinguishing agent.
This object is achieved with a device having the features of
Preferably, the triggering means is a purely mechanical triggering means, so that can be dispensed with auxiliary electrical energy. The triggering means advantageously has a pivotably mounted first element, which is suitable and adapted to receive the kinetic energy of the leading first pressure wave and convert it into its own kinetic energy. The first element may be pivotally mounted about an axis perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the explosion and is pivoted about the pivotal axis upon actuation of the device by the kinetic energy received.
The first element of the triggering means may be rigidly connected to at least one second element, the second element be suitable and set up to open the extinguishing agent container with sufficient kinetic energy of the first element.
The extinguishing agent container may be designed so that it is completely or partially destroyed by the opening means and in particular the second element of the triggering means when opening.
In a particular embodiment of the device according to the invention, the triggering means may comprise a pivotally mounted flap. The flap may have a surface forming the first element which is exposed in the conduit, the channel or the shaft leading compression wave. Further, the flap may have an edge forming the second element that opens the extinguishant container upon receipt of sufficient kinetic energy by the first element. The edge may be provided with prongs which tear or destroy the extinguishing agent container.
According to the invention, the device may comprise a venting means, which is suitable and arranged, a first area in which the first element pivots when triggered, upon triggering, d. H. to vent when swiveling in the flap. The venting means may be a venting channel or a venting line starting in the first area.
The vent passage or the vent line may open in a portion of the duct, duct, or duct downstream of the triggering means.
It is also conceivable that the triggering means comprises a pivotable rupture element of a rupture disk.
Der Löschmittelbehälter kann eine Kartusche sein. Vorzugsweise ist der Löschmittelbehälter auswechselbar. The extinguishing agent container may be a cartridge. Preferably, the extinguishing agent container is replaceable.
The triggering means of a device according to the invention may be suitable and arranged to release at least one outlet opening of the extinguishing agent container by means of the absorbed energy. The exit opening may be a nozzle or a slot.
According to the invention, the triggering means may be suitable and arranged to generate an overpressure in the extinguishing agent container for expelling the extinguishing agent from the extinguishing agent container.
The extinguishing agent container can be made in a particularly preferred embodiment of the device from a material to be transported in the line, the channel or the shaft. For example, the extinguishing agent container may be made of foods, in particular of flour, sugar, salt or other powdery foods. Thus, it is conceivable that the food was molded and / or baked using water or a binder to the extinguishing agent container.
It is likewise possible for the extinguishing agent to be produced from a material to be transported in the duct, the duct or the shaft, in particular from a pulverulent foodstuff.
A device according to the invention may comprise a housing, and the housing may comprise conducting means for accelerating extinguishing agent emerging from the outlet opening of the extinguishing agent container in a circular or spiral path.
The triggering means of a device according to the invention may be suitable and configured to open the extinguishing agent container at a defined triggering pressure by means of the absorbed kinetic energy and to expel the extinguishing agent from the extinguishing agent container.
One or more devices of the aforementioned type may be arranged in a conduit, a channel or a shaft. It is possible that the devices are arranged in the propagation direction of the pressure wave one behind the other. It is also possible that the devices are arranged opposite each other.

The
The
The hood is formed by two
In a non-triggered state of the device according to the invention two thirds of the back of the housing are closed by the
So that the free and fast pivoting movement of the
