Definitions

  • the invention relates to an elastically resilient sealing tape for the sealing of a joint, for example between a frame profile, such as window or door frame profile, and a building wall, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a sealing tape is eg from the EP 1 131 525 B1 known.
  • the known sealing strip consists of an elastically resilient foam strip rectangular cross-section which is completely enclosed in the compressed state of a sheath which is formed by a plastic film which forms a longitudinal direction of the sealing strip tear tab, including the plastic film to form a predetermined breaking point against itself is arrested.
  • a plastic film which forms a longitudinal direction of the sealing strip tear tab, including the plastic film to form a predetermined breaking point against itself is arrested.
  • the foam strip is glued to the envelope, and the envelope is in turn attachable to a frame profile with separate adhesives, such as a double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Sealing tapes of this type are adhered to the frame profile to be sealed, and after installation of the frame profile in a building wall opening the enclosure is torn open to allow the foam strip to resiliently reset and thus seal the frame profile on the building wall.
  • sealing tapes In the known sealing tapes, however, remains a part of the wrapping material after tearing the same inevitably on the building, especially that part which is located between the frame profile and the foam strip. This is often undesirable.
  • the production of the sealing tape is quite complex due to the always necessary additional step of applying the envelope.
  • a sealing strip for adhering to a window frame which consists of a rigid channel U-shaped cross section and an elastically compressed foam strip disposed therein, which is closed by a dimensionally stable cover strip, the edge held in a releasable form-fitting engagement connection to the end region of the channel walls is.
  • the cover strip is like a flag connected with a pliable strip element, which extends under leadership over a peripheral edge of the cover strip away into the channel of the sealing strip inside. By pulling on the Strip element allows the cover strip to be released from the channel so that the compressed foam strip can relax. This construction is very expensive.
  • a sealing tape which consists of a flat bar for adhering to a frame profile and a foam strip arranged thereon.
  • the foam strip is covered by a sheet of paper or plastic, which is glued to the flat bar and keeps the foam strip in the compressed state.
  • tear-open In the edge strip of the cover run tear-open, with the help of which the film can be torn open after installation of the provided with the sealing strip frame profile in the building.
  • the US 4,344,265 shows a compression of a sealing material located in a gap by means of a one-sided applied to the sealing material and in protruding edge regions connected to the building cover, which can be torn by pulling on a thread or wire to release the sealing material.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a sealing tape made of a resilient foam, which can be kept dimensionally stable in a compressed state and released in a simple way to return.
  • the elastically resilient sealing tape according to the invention has an elastically resilient foam strip of rectangular cross-section, which is held in a compressed state. This is done by at least one over the sealing tape extending releasable seam of at least one thread that sets the foam strip from top to bottom.
  • the at least one seam keeps the foam strip even after unwinding from the roll in the compressed state. A loosening of the seam allows the recovery of the foam strip.
  • a tear tab can be attached to the cover.
  • Fig. 1 If one sees an elastically resilient foam strip 1, which has a rectangular cross-section in the example shown.
  • the foam strip 1 may be fully impregnated to retard its recovery after compression.
  • the material of the foam strip 1 is arbitrary, open-cell or closed-cell flexible foams are used depending on the field of application.
  • a preferred material is polyurethane or polyethylene foam. It is also possible to use a multi-layer foam strip 1 with layers laminated on one another.
  • the downwardly facing outside of the adhesive tape 6 is preferably covered by a peelable, peelable silicone paper 10 or the like, as long as the sealing tape is not attached to the component.
  • the adhesive tape 6 is very often realized by an adhesive layer which adheres to the silicone paper 10 or the like and which has been laminated in this form on a foam sheet material. Occasionally, a mesh fabric or a carrier film, non-woven or the like may be embedded in this adhesive layer to increase the tensile strength.
  • adhesive tape used above should therefore also cover adhesive layers of this type described here.
  • the foam strip 1 is in the in Fig. 1 illustrated embodiment by four extending in the longitudinal direction of the foam strip 1 seams of threads 7, which enforce this in a known manner from top to bottom, kept in the compressed state.
  • the seams also ensure that the foam strip 1 in the compressed state has a rectangular as possible cross-sectional shape.
  • the existing of the threads 7 seams are preferably solved after attaching the sealing tape to be sealed component.
  • Seams are preferred in which the threads can be removed very easily by pulling on a thread end, so that the material of the foam strip 1 can be elastically reset to its original shape at the site.
  • single-needle seams and two-thread seams can be used.
  • the embodiment in Fig. 2 is different from the Fig. 1 in that a cover 2 is arranged on the upper side of the foam strip 1.
  • the material of the cover 2 may be a sheet material, a mesh fabric, paper or other material, which is preferably rigid in the transverse direction of the sealing strip and slack in the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip.
  • a plastic film the laminated with a carrier material (eg fleece), or a fabric-reinforced film. All these materials are described by the term "film-like”. Combinations of these materials are also possible, especially in the embodiment of FIG Fig. 5 ,
  • the thread 7 is sewn through the cover 2 here and in all other embodiments.
  • the foam strip 1 is held relatively homogeneously in a compressed state and the thickness of the bulges of the foam strip 1 between the seams is reduced.
  • Fig. 2 is a tear tab 3, which is preferably formed from one of the above-mentioned materials of the cover 2, a flat adherent to the cover 2 connected. Shown is a connection over the entire top of the sealing tape, but it is also possible to connect only in any sub-area. The connection is usually by gluing.
  • Threaded seams or two-thread seams are also applicable here, but two-thread seams have the advantage that the two threads can be of different thicknesses.
  • the suture 7 of the suture passing through the foam material 1 is usually dimensioned so that it can be easily torn.
  • the thread of the seam, which concatenates the loops of the thread 7 on the outside of the cover 2, is dimensioned so that it does not tear when tearing the cover 2 of the sealing strip. Thus, a particularly simple release of the threads 7 from the foam strip 1 is possible.
  • Fig. 3 is different from the Fig. 2 in that the tear tab 3 is folded over at one end and thus forms a J-shape. This folded end is fixed to the end portion of the cover 2, which faces the free end of the tear tab 3. As a result, the cover 2 can be easily peeled off from the foam strip 1 by pulling on the tear tab 3 in a simple manner. When peeling off the cover 2, the threads 7 are automatically released or torn and release the foam strip 1 for recovery.
  • FIG. 4 Another embodiment is shown by the Fig. 3 insofar differs, as the threads 7 are also sewn by the tape 6. This achieves a further stabilizing effect, in particular when the adhesive tape 6 in the transverse direction is formed rigid.
  • Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of the invention.
  • the cover 2 is formed as a two-part enclosure with separate sections 2a and 2b, which enclose the foam strip 1 almost completely.
  • the first section 2a covers one side surface and the top side of the foam strip 1 completely and the second side surface halfway.
  • the portion 2a is turned over with a first edge strip 18 to an edge region of the underside of the foam strip 1.
  • a first flag-like strip 3 a of the first portion 2 a of the cover 2 projecting from the foam strip 1 forms part of the tear tab 3.
  • the second portion 2b of the cover 2 covers only the lower half of the second side surface of the foam strip 1 and with a second edge strip 16 the second edge of the underside of the foam strip 1.
  • the second portion 2b also forms a second flag-like strip 3b parallel to the first mentioned already the tab-like strip 3a and forms with this the tear tab 3.
  • the first and second portions 2a and 2b of the cover 2 are held together near the foam strip 1 by a seam line which in Fig. 5 symbolized with 15 and which may be a weld, glued seam or thread suture.
  • the adhesive tape 6 covers in its edge regions located on the underside of the foam strip 1 edge strips 16, 18 of the cover 2 and holds them firmly.
  • the adhesive bond is sufficiently strong to withstand some restoring force generated by the foam strip 1 in the compressed state, but on the other hand weak enough to yield to a tearing force when pulling on the tear tab 3 after attaching the sealing strip to a component.
  • cover 2 and the seams consisting of the threads 7 act together to hold the foam strip 1 in the compressed state.
  • the tear tab 3 formed from the two flag-like strips 3a and 3b can also be arranged at the upper edge or lower edge of the second side face of the foam strip 1.
  • Fig. 6 shows a further embodiment of the sealing tape according to the invention. It is different from the one after Fig. 5 first, characterized in that the cover 2 is designed in one piece and that the edge strips 16, 18 of the cover 2 are folded inwards and now lie between the adhesive layer 6 and the silicone paper 10.
  • the refolding of the edge strips 16, 18 has the advantage that the edge strips 16, 18 can be peeled off the adhesive tape 6 when pulling on the tear strip 3, for which a lesser expenditure of force is required.
  • the tear flap 3 is here again as in Fig. 1 to 4 single layer, but integrally formed with the cover 2.
  • the seam may be covered on the outside of the cover 2 by a single-sided adhesive tape 11, which forms a reinforcement of the at the seams through the thread stitches slightly weakened cover 2.
  • the foam strips 1 are compressed so that they can expand when relaxing preferably to about five to six times their occupied in the compressed state thickness, of which, however, only about half is utilized to secure attachment to the profile element to be sealed to ensure opposite building part.
  • the sealing tape according to the invention Fig. 3 is usually prepared as follows. First, a foam material 1 is produced in large layers and provided at the top with a cover 2. Subsequently, the seams are sewn from the threads 7 in the foam 1 and through the cover 2, before at the bottom of a covered with the silicone paper 10 tape 6 is applied. For sewing, the foam material 1 can be mechanically held down. Subsequently, the sealing tape layer is wound into a wide roll and sliced for further processing. Finally, the insertion and attachment of the tear tab 3 takes place between the individual roll layers, wherein the respective overlying layer must be raised. Alternatively, the tear tab 3 can be applied even after unwinding of the sealing strip from the roll and before rewinding of the sealing strip on a spool.
  • sealing tape It is also possible to retrieve the seams later, i. after the production of sealing tape rolls, to attach to the re-developed sealing tape.
  • the sealing tape must be mechanically held down or provided with an expansion inhibiting impregnation. After sewing, the sealing tape is wound up again.
  • the seams running in the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape preferably have a stitch spacing of between 1 mm and 5 mm, more preferably between 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm.
  • Two seams have in the transverse direction of the sealing tape to each other a distance of preferably between 1 mm and 5 mm, more preferably between 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm.
  • the cover preferably has a thickness of between 0.02 mm and 3 mm, more preferably between 0.03 mm and 1.5 mm.
  • the foam strip 1 preferably has a thickness of between 1 and 100 mm.
  • seams are all common to one skilled stitch types in question, which can hold the foam to a certain degree of compression together. So far, only in the longitudinal direction of the foam strip running seams have been described. But it is also possible to use zigzag-shaped seams. Even transversely or diagonally running seams can be used, as long as it is ensured that by selecting a suitable seam type despite the severing during the cutting process of the sealing tape roll to sealing tape roll disks an uncontrolled dissolution of the seams is prevented.
