It is also provided to further increase the power transmitted in the motion reversal steps with an elastic system, which is engaged and disengaged during the travel of the thread guide.
  • the technical solutions proposed in the prior art provide using electric motors operated to be moved with reciprocating motion with position detectors, for example encoders: based on their detection, the control unit of the winding unit supplies such motors with variable frequency current to obtain the strong accelerations and decelerations to be imparted to the thread guides, which are necessary for the formation of the package with good form and use characteristics.
  • Such encoders can be installed on the motor itself, on the thread guide to be moved, on the mechanical transmission of these two members, comparing their effective position with the desired position at every instant.

It also comprises a unit 20' which frequency drives the motor M 15 of the thread guide 15, for the determination of its traversing motion, both as regards instantaneous speeds and axial coordinates of the motion reversal points, operating traverse strokes of the amplitude and frequency commanded each time by its governing unit.

Regarding the interventions of the clearer, such coordination consists of subordinating the cutting of the thread 2 to the axial position of the thread guide 15. Such coordination is made on one side in the delay of the thread cutting by the unit 20" and on the other side in the command to the unit 20' to stop the thread guide 15 in a central position of the package 12, allowing a certain number of coils to wind overlapped before the cutting command: the skein end of the cut thread is safely wound on the body of the package in a central position and can be easily collected and unwound.

  • the clearer 11 detects a defect of the thread 2 which slides between bobbin 1 and package 12, and requests the governing unit 20 consent to proceed with the cutting.
  • the governing unit 20 commands its unit 20' to bring the thread guide 15 into a central position of the package 12 and stop it, detects that the thread guide has been brought into such position and is stopped, and then gives the consent to its unit 20" to proceed to the cutting with the group 7 and to the consequent reattachment process of the two skein ends.
  • Such process permits, in the case of splicing the thread following a cut thereof for the elimination of a defect, a reattachment process with a higher probability of success.
  • the junction cycle repetitions and operator interventions are significantly reduced. It is also possible to simplify the structure of the mouth 10.

  • the governing unit 20 detects the attainment of the desired length of the wound thread, commands its unit 20' to bring the thread guide 15 into a central position of the package 12 and to stop, detects that the thread guide has been brought into such position and is stopped, and then gives the command to its unit 20" to proceed to the cutting and stopping of the package 12 and roller 13, thus beginning the tube change process and the new package start process.
  • the coordination provided with the present invention consists in subordinating the starting of the rotating driving roller of the new package to the axial position of the thread guide 15.
  • Such coordination is achieved on the one hand in the command to the unit 20' to bring the thread guide 15, which is found in a central thread cutting position, into an axial position towards the base of the tube and situated externally with respect to its normal laying excursion of the thread on the package, and stopping it here, and on the other hand then starting the driving in rotation of the new tube with the thread guide in external position, allowing a certain number of parallel coils to wind with thread guide stopped before the thread guide is brought back to its normal traverse excursion range to begin the winding of the new package: the initial head of the thread of the package consists of a reserve of parallel coils on the base of the cone which is available for subsequent processing.
