Definitions
- the invention relates to a headlight, in particular for vehicles, comprising a headlight housing with a light exit opening, a cover for covering the light exit opening and a radiation source and a heating device.
- Headlamps such as headlamps, tail lights, and other automotive lighting devices typically do not require a dedicated deicing device, as long as conventional halogen or gas discharge lamps are used. These produce enough heat to defrost ice and snow and remove condensation by condensation.
- Spotlight emitting cold light sources such as light emitting diodes (LED, light emitting diode) or headlamp with xenon lamps, however, do not produce sufficient "amount of heat and therefore exhibit an insufficient defrosting. Icing or fogging on the cover glass of headlamps is objectionable not only for aesthetic reasons. For safety reasons, the light beam should not be attenuated or scattered when exiting the headlamp.
- a vehicle headlamp in whose housing a heating device, preferably a PTC heating element (positive temperature coefficient), is arranged.
- Li DE 103 46 270 A also describes a combination of a PTC heating element with a conventional light source, which has a high infrared content, such as halogen lamps.
- a major advantage of LED headlamps is the smaller space and greater design freedom. A combination of halogen and LED headlights is therefore not desirable.
- JP 2003197013 A describes the installation of heating wires in the cover.
- conventional heating wires are clearly visible and are not acceptable for aesthetic reasons. Desirable are not visible or difficult to detect devices for deicing.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a headlamp, in particular for vehicles, which enables in a simple way de-icing or condensation removal.
- the deicing device should not be visible or difficult to see.
- the object is achieved in that an infrared radiation source is provided as a heating device.
- the invention relates to a headlight, in particular for vehicles, comprising a headlight housing with a light exit opening, a cover to cover the - -
- Lichtaustrittsöffhung and a radiation source and an additional heater, wherein the heater is an infrared radiation source.
- headlight are all known headlights, especially vehicle headlights.
- headlights with light-emitting diodes as the light source.
- the cover to cover the light exit opening may consist of any transparent material.
- the surface can be textured or rt un Modellie '.
- the cover can also be constructed of several layers.
- silicate glasses can be used.
- transparent thermoplastics can be used.
- the thermoplastics can be painted or unpainted. As paints commercial scratch-resistant coatings, for example on siloxane, polyurethane or acrylate, come into question.
- thermoplastics are, for example, polycarbonates or copolycarbonates based on di-phenols, poly- or copolyacrylates and poly- or co-polyethacrylates, preferably polymethyl methacrylate, copolymers or copolymers with styrene, preferably transparent polystyrene or polystyrene-acrylonitrile (SAN), transparent thermoplastic polyurethanes, and polyolefins, preferably transparent polypropylene types, or polyolefins based on cyclic olefinsulfonates finen (for example, TOPAS ®, Ticona), poly- or copolycondensates of terephthalic acid, preferably poly- or copolyethylene terephthalate (PET or CoPET) or glycol-modified PET (PETG).
- SAN transparent polystyrene or polystyrene-acrylonitrile
- SAN transparent thermoplastic polyurethanes
- polyolefins preferably
- Particularly preferred materials for Scheinwerferabdeckinn are silicate glass, bisphenol-A polycarbonate, copolycarbonates of bisphenol-A and l, l-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) -3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane, as well as poly- and Comethylmethacrylate.
- an infrared radiation source is provided in the spotlight housing as the heating device.
- Preferred are infrared radiation sources (IR radiation sources) with an emission maximum in the range of 800 and 30,000 nm, preferably in the range of water absorption of 1500 nm to 5000 nm or in the range of an absorption band of the irradiated material.
- Heating processes generated by infrared radiators are characterized by high efficiency, since the heat energy is transmitted by electromagnetic radiation.
- the irradiated body absorbs the infrared radiation and converts it into heat.
- IR laser IR LEDs or IR emitters based on resistance, as described for example in DE 3 927 264 A, can be used.
- the infrared radiation source is preferably directed onto the cover plate such that at least areas of the cover plate are irradiated. This can for example be done directly by the IR radiation source is positioned in a corresponding manner and the main emission takes place in the direction of the cover. However, this can alternatively be done in an indirect manner, by means of a suitable arrangement of metallic or ceramic reflectors, the IR radiation is either focused on areas of the cover or is distributed over a larger area of the cover. Convective heat generated by resistance-based IR emitters can also be used to heat the headlamp.
- the location of the LED heater (s) depends on the headlamp design. It is preferable to choose an arrangement in which the IR radiation of the IR emitter strikes the cover disc with the least possible scattering, absorption or reflection losses.
- IR radiation sources can be used.
- An example of a suitable IR radiation source is the IR emitter IR 12K from Scitec, Redruth, United Kingdom.
- FIG. 1 An embodiment of a headlight according to the invention is shown.
- the light exit opening 5 of the headlight housing 1 is provided with a cover 2.
- four LEDs 3 are provided in the headlight housing 1 .
- An infrared radiation source 4 as a heater is also provided in the housing 1.
- the infrared radiation source 4 is arranged so that the infrared radiation is directed to the cover plate 2.
- two or more IR radiation sources could be arranged.
- Other positions of the IR radiation source within the headlight housing 1 are also possible, provided that the IR radiation source is oriented so that the IR radiation is directed to the cover.
- the IR radiation source could be positioned behind the cover plate adjacent thereto.
