- Containers intended to contain a flat liquid are, in most cases, provided with a domed bottom generally spherical cap with concavity facing outwards and of relatively low height.
- Such bottoms are often provided with radiating ribs distributed around a central recess, said ribs being able to present various conformations and possibly being able to overflow on the bottom of the wall of the body in order to reinforce the seat (peripheral zone by which the bottom rests on a support).
- the height of funds of this kind, including central recess is typically of the order of 10 mm, and can be up to 15 mm.
- Such bottoms are shaped to support without deformation the column of flat liquid which overcomes them. But they do not have sufficient strength to withstand additional stress, for example due to an internal pressure, even low value.
- This small quantity of inert substance finishes to vaporize once the capping is complete, so that there remains in the closed container of the inerting gas under a low residual pressure of less than 2 ⁇ 10 5 Pa, typically of the order of 1 ⁇ 10 5 Pa, or of the order of 0.5x10 5 Pa.
- the invention aims to provide an improved convex bottom conformation for clean containers to be filled with flat and closed liquids in the presence of a relatively low pressure not exceeding 2x10 5 Pa, and more generally of the order of 1x10 5 Pa, requiring only a minimum of thermoplastic material, easy to conform correctly under the usual conditions of blow molding or stretch-blow molding of containers intended for flat liquids, and having a height of the same order of size than traditional container bottoms for flat liquids.

- a bottom arranged according to the invention has a double curved panel structure, both with regard to the panels defined between the protruding impressions in the bottom of the container itself and with regard to the vaults of said indentations with a double concavity of the same orientation facing the outside of the container.
- a double system of two-level buttressing which, without being able to withstand high pressures, is nevertheless able to withstand, without significant deformation, a relatively low residual pressure not exceeding approximately 2 ⁇ 10 5 Pa, such as that which remains after an inerting operation.
- the arches of the indentations have a variable curvature, greater towards the seat than towards the central recess.
- said panels defined between the protrusions in the bottom of the container are provided with at least one respective radiating rib; in a concrete embodiment, there is provided a single radiating rib on each bottom panel.
- the ribs are substantially straight, that advantageously they are concavity facing outwardly and that preferably their inner end is located at a distance from the central recess, in other words that the ribs extend radially only over a portion of the gap between the seat and the central recess (eg about half of this gap) from the seat.

- the ribs extend only on the bottom to the vicinity of the seat thereof.

- Such an arrangement provides a reinforced mechanical strength that allows the bottom to be able to withstand without significant deformation that the container is filled with a flat liquid under a low overpressure not exceeding about 2 x 10 5 Pa, and in practice of the order of 0, 5 to 1x10 5 Pa, as is the case for example following an inerting operation or overpressure to stiffen the container.
- such a container bottom can be made without sensitive localized thickenings, that is, it can be formed in substantially the same molding conditions as standard bottoms.
- the height h of a container bottom 2 arranged according to the invention may be of the same order of magnitude as that of a standard container bottom for flat liquid, that is to say of the order of 10 to 15 mm for a container such as a bottle with a diameter of 50 to 70 mm.
- the cavities 3 of the bottom 2 are separated by panels 5 which can be provided with at least one respective rib 8 radiating; in practice, to facilitate the correct forming of the bottom 2, only one radiating rib 8 is provided in each panel 5.
- the ribs 8 are substantially rectilinear and advantageously that they are concavity turned outwards, as shown on the Figures 1 to 3 .
- the reinforcement of the panels 5 can be obtained by means of reliefs having other shapes (for example triangular reliefs). It is not essential that the ribs 8 extend over the entire gap between the seat 10 and the recess 4 central: in the embodiment illustrated in the accompanying figures, the ribs 8 extend only on part of the above-mentioned gap (about half of this gap in the configuration shown) and the end of the ribs 8 located radially inward is away from the central recess 4.
- the ribs 8 may extend to the vicinity of the seat 10 or, in a variant which does not form part of the invention, they extend beyond the seat 10 and go up on the bottom of the body 9 of the container 1 as illustrated in FIG. figure 4 , the latter provision being intended to strengthen the seat 10.
- a common application, although not exclusive of the provisions of the invention is containers of approximately cylindrical general shape of revolution such as bottles: the bottom 2 is then generally round shape as shown on the Figures 1 to 3 and in this case the cavities 3 are distributed angularly equidistantly.
- the fingerprints are in number between 3 and 8, the concrete examples shown on the Figures 1 to 3 comprising five footprints 3 alternating with five bottom 5 panels.
