Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen hochlegierten Gußeisenwerkstoff, welcher eine austenitische Struktur und eine kugelförmige Graphitausbildung aufweist. Der erfindungsgemäße Werkstoff eignet sich vorzugsweise für thermisch hoch belastete Teile eines Motors, insbesondere des Abgassystems eines Motors, ist jedoch auch für andere thermisch hochbelastete Bauteile gut geeignet.
- Die thermischen Belastungen von Abgaskrümmern und Turbinengehäusen von Abgasturboladern sind durch Einführung neuer Brennverfahren stark gestiegen. Insbesondere moderne Ottomotoren erreichen heute Abgastemperaturen, welche deutlich über 1000°C liegen. Bauteile, welche derartigen thermischen Belastungen ausgesetzt sind, müssen neben der Beständigkeit im Hochtemperaturbereich eine hohe Zunderbeständigkeit, eine gute Temperaturwechselfestigkeit und einen geringen Temperaturausdehnungskoeffizienten aufweisen. Im Stand der Technik ist es daher bekannt, thermisch hochbelastete Bauteile aus Stahlguß herzustellen. Dieser erfüllt zwar die oben genannten Anforderungen, ist jedoch auch sehr teuer und daher aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen für eine Serienfertigung solcher Bauteile schlecht geeignet.
- Weiterhin sind im Stand der Technik austenitische Gußeisenlegierungen mit Kugelgraphit unter dem Handelsnamen Ni-Resist bekannt. Diese Legierungen, welche in der EN 13835 als EN-GJSA XNi 35 (bzw nach ASTM 439 als D5) beschrieben werden, weisen neben guten mechanischen Eigenschaften eine sehr hohe Hitzebeständigkeit, gute Zunderbeständigkeit und eine hohe Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit auf. Sie werden daher im Stand der Technik für die Serienproduktion thermisch hochbelasteter Motorbauteile, insbesondere für Abgaskrümmer und/oder Turboladergehäuse hoch verdichteter oder aufgeladener Motoren verwendet. Diese Legierungen sind preiswert und lassen sich gut vergießen. Sie weisen eine bereits sehr hohe Hitzebeständigkeit auf, welche in der EN 13835 mit bis zu 1050° Celsius angegeben wird. Bei dünnwandigen Bauteilen mit einer Wandstärke von unter 8 mm beträgt die Hitzebeständigkeit jedoch nur etwa 950° Celsius. Um die Temperaturen auf dieses höchstzulässige Maß zu senken, werden daher Einspritzung und Verbrennung durch aufwendige Motorsteuerung geregelt. Dies verursacht jedoch wiederum einen erhöhten Kraftstoffverbrauch. Es besteht daher Bedarf, Werkstoffe zu entwickeln, welche eine weiterhin erhöhte Beständigkeit im Hochtemperaturbereich auch bei dünnwandigen Bauteilen aufweisen.
- In dem als nächstkommender Stand der Technik anzusehenden Artikel "Ni-Resist Type D5S - An Improved Material for Turbocharger Housings" von P. I. Fontaine wird ein hochlegierter Gußeisenwerkstoff mit austenitischer Struktur und kugelförmiger Graphitausbildung mit erhöhter Temperaturwechselfestigkeit für thermisch hochbelastete Bauteile von Motoren, insbesondere Turboladergehäuse offenbart. Eine sehr hohe Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit auch bei dünnwandigen Bauteilen kann damit aber nicht zuverlässig hergestellt werden.
- Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, einen austenitischen Gußeisenwerkstoff vorzuschlagen, welcher eine sehr hohe Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit auch bei dünnwandigen Bauteilen aufweist.
- Die Aufgabe wird gelöst mit einem Gußeisenwerkstoff, einer Anwendung dieses Werkstoffs sowie Bauteilen gemäß der Merkmale der unabhängigen Ansprüche.
- Erfindungsgemäß weist ein hochlegierter Gußeisenwerkstoff mit austenitischer Struktur und kugelförmiger Graphitausbildung unter anderem die folgenden Inhaltsstoffe in Gewichtsprozenten auf: Kohlenstoff < 2,0 %; Silizium 2,0 - 6,0 %; Nickel 29 - 36 %; Chrom 1,0 - 2,5 %; Niob 0,1 - 1,0 %; Molybdän 0,1 - 2,5%. Die Erfindung wird im Anspruch 1 definiert. Im Vergleich zu bekannten austenitischen Legierungen mit Kugelgraphit auf Nickelbasis ist dem Werkstoff insbesondere Molybdän und Niob in den genannten Anteilen zulegiert. Es hat sich gezeigt, daß durch die Zugabe von Molybdän in Verbindung mit Niob die Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit derartiger Legierungen erhöht werden kann, ohne jedoch eine Versprödung des Werkstoffes durch Karbidbildung zu bewirken. Weiterhin kann mit einer erfindungsgemäßen Legierung die Festigkeit des Materials bei erhöhten Temperaturen sowie die Zunderbeständigkeit verbessert werden. Die erfindungsgemäße Legierung weist hierbei einen vergleichsweise geringen Wärmeausdehnungskoeffizienten auf, so daß die Rißgefahr bei Temperaturwechselbelastungen reduziert ist.
- Der Kohlenstoffgehalt der Legierung ist auf einen Wert bis 2% begrenzt, um Karbidbildung zu vermeiden. Der Kohlenstoffanteil wird hierbei so eingestellt, daß dennoch eine gute Fließfähigkeit und Vergießbarkeit der Schmelze erreicht wird.
- Der Siliziumanteil der Legierung wirkt in bekannter Weise als Desoxidationsmittel und verbessert vorliegend die Beständigkeit gegen Heißgaskorrosion. Der erfindungsgemäße Werkstoff weist dennoch einen vorteilhaften geringen Wärmeausdehnungskoeffizienten auf.
- Chrom dient der Verbesserung der Oxidationsbeständigkeit bei hohen Temperaturen. Der Chromanteil ist vorliegend auf 2,5 % begrenzt.
- Die Erfindung sieht vor, daß der Gußeisenwerkstoff einen Mangananteil von 0,5- 1,5 % aufweist. Der Mangangehalt einer Legierung beeinflußt einerseits die Gießeigenschaften, beeinträchtigt jedoch auch die Graphitausscheidung, so daß der Mangananteil hier vorzugsweise auf 1,5% beschränkt ist.
- Gemäß der Erfindung weist der Werkstoff einen Phosphoranteil von weniger als 0,1 % auf, da ein höherer Phosphoranteil ebenfalls zu einer Versprödung des Werkstoffs führen könnte. Weiterhin ist es vorteilhaft, wenn der Werkstoff einen Kupferanteil von weniger als 0,5 % aufweist.
- Eine besonders bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung sieht vor, daß der Gußeisenwerkstoff einen Nickelanteil von 34 - 36% aufweist. Die Nickelbasis sorgt hierbei für die Ausbildung eines austenitischen Grundgefüges.
- Eine weitere vorteilhafte Ausführungsform der Erfindung sieht vor, daß der Werkstoff vorzugsweise einen Chromanteil von 1,5 - 2,5 % aufweist, um die Hochtemperaturfestigkeit und Oxidationsbeständigkeit zu verbessern.
- Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, daß das Gußeisen gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung eine gegenüber herkömmlichen austenitischen Gußeisenlegierungen mit Kugelgraphit und Nickel als Hauptträger (D5) erhöhte Temperaturbeständigkeit aufweist. Das erfindungsgemäße Gußeisen ist daher auch für die Anwendung in extrem dünnwandigen Bauteilen mit einer Wandstärke von 3 -6 mm unter sehr hohen Temperaturen gut geeignet.
- Der erfindungsgemäße Werkstoff eignet sich somit hervorragend für die Anwendung in thermisch hochbelasteten Bauteilen. Dünnwandige Bauteile aus dem erfindungsgemäßen Gußeisenwerkstoff weisen nach derzeitigen Erkenntnissen eine Beständigkeit bis zu etwa 985° Celsius auf. Erfindungsgemäß wird dieser hochlegierte Gußeisenwerkstoff daher für Teile des Abgassystems eines Motors verwendet. Insbesondere eignet sich der Werkstoff für Abgaskrümmer oder Turboladergehäuse. Besonders vorteilhaft kann der Werkstoff bei Teilen des Abgassystems hochverdichteter oder aufgeladener Motoren, in welchen Abgastemperaturen von bis zu 1100°C auftreten, verwendet werden.
- Insbesondere eignet sich der Werkstoff zur Anwendung in Integralgehäusen, d. h. Gehäusen, welche Abgaskrümmer und Turbinengehäuse eines Abgasturboladers vereinten.
- Erfindungsgemäß bestehen thermisch hochbelastete Bauteile, insbesondere des Abgassystems eines Motors, aus einem Gußeisenwerkstoff der zuvor beschriebenen Eigenschaften. Das Gußeisen der vorliegenden Erfindung kann daher die herkömmlichen für Abgassysteme verwendeten Materialien ersetzen. Das Gußeisen kann im wesentlichen gemäß herkömmlicher Verfahren hergestellt und bearbeitet werden. Die Bauteile können zur Homogenisierung des Gefüges einer Glühbehandlung unterzogen werden, wodurch eine bessere Verteilung der Karbide erreicht wird.
- Gegenüber herkömmlichen austenitischen Gußeisenlegierungen für den Einsatz in Abgassystemen von Kraftfahrzeugen konnte eine Erhöhung der Hitzebeständigkeit um etwa 35° Celsius erreicht werden. Die hierdurch mögliche Erhöhung der Abgas- bzw. Verbrennungstemperaturen ermöglicht auch eine Erhöhung der auf den Hubraum bezogenen Leistung, verringert den Schadstoffausstoß und ermöglicht eine Kraftstoffeinsparung.
- Weiterhin wies der erfindungsgemäße Gußeisenwerkstoff im Schub-Riß-Test eine gegenüber herkömmliche Legierungen der Klasse D5 (ASTM 439) eine um 8% erhöhte Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit auf. Im Autobahndauertest konnten mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Werkstoff Verbesserungen um bis zu 30 % festgestellt werden.
- Die Erfindung ist insbesondere für Bauteile des Abgassystems eines Kraftfahrzeuges geeignet, jedoch nicht auf diese beschränkt. Abwandlungen und Kombinationen im Rahmen der Patentansprüche fallen ebenfalls unter die Erfindung.
Claims (10)
- Hochlegierter Gußeisenwerkstoff mit austenitischer Struktur und kugelförmiger Graphitausbildung mit erhöhter Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit und vorzugsweiser Anwendung für Motoren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Werkstoff in Gewichtsprozenten die folgenden Inhaltsstoffe aufweist:
Kohlenstoff < 2,0 % Silizium 2,0 - 6,0 % Nickel 29 - 36 % Chrom 1,0 - 2,5 % Niob 0.1 - 1,0 % Molybdän 0,1 - 2,5 % Mangan 0,5 - 1,5 % Phosphor < 0,1 % Kupfer < 0,5 % - Gußeisenwerkstoff nach einem der vorherigen Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Werkstoff vorzugsweise einen Nickelanteil von 34 - 36 % aufweiset.
- Gußeisenwerkstoff nach einem der vorherigen Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Werkstoff vorzugsweise einen Chromanteil von 1,5 -2,5% aufweist.
- Verwendung eines hochlegierten Gußeisenwerkstoffs nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche für thermisch hochbelastete Bauteile von Motoren.
- Verwendung nach dem vorherigen Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das thermisch hochbelastete Bauteil ein Teil des Abgassystems eines Motors, insbesondere ein Abgaskrümmer und/ oder Turboladergehäuse ist.
- Verwendung nach einem der vorherigen Ansprüche 4 oder 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das thermisch hochbelastete Bauteil ein Integralgehäuse ist.
- Thermisch hochbelastetes Bauteil, insbesondere des Abgassystems eines Motors, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Bauteil aus einem Gußeisenwerkstoff gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3 besteht.
- Thermisch hochbelastetes Bauteil nach dem vorherigen Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Bauteil ein Abgaskrümmer ist.
- Thermisch hochbelastetes Bauteil nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche 7 oder 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Bauteil ein Turbinengehäuse eines Abgasturboladers ist.
- Thermisch hochbelastetes Bauteil nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche 7 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Bauteil ein Integralgehäuse ist.
