  1. A set of modular construction elements (1) for building a work, each set comprising:

    the set being characterized in that each modular construction element (1) includes abutment means (10) for engaging a rear billet of an overlying analogous construction element that has been placed on the seating billets, the abutment means (10) blocking movement of the analogous construction element in the direction from the rear billet towards the front billet.
  2. A set of modular construction elements according to claim 1, characterized in that the abutment means (10) include means for adjusting their position along the seating billets (6).
  3. A set of modular construction elements according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the abutment means (10) are constituted by a round billet supported by the tops of the seating billets (6) while extending substantially parallel to the front and rear billets (3, 4), assembly means (13) being provided between the abutment billet (10) and the seating billets (6).
  4. A set of modular construction elements according to claim 3, characterized in that the assembly means (13) between the abutment billet (10) and the seating billets (6) are common with the assembly means (8) between the rear billet (4) and the seating billets (5).
  5. A set of modular construction elements according to claim 1, characterized in that the rear billet (4) is of a length that is shorter than the front billet (3), so as to be set back relative to each of the ends of the front billet (3).
  6. A set of modular construction elements according to claim 5, characterized in that each end transverse face of the front billet (3) possesses a chamfered portion (15).
  7. A set of modular construction elements according to claim 1, characterized in that the front and rear billets (3, 4) extend in substantially perpendicular manner relative to the seating billets (6).
  8. A set of modular construction elements according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that each of the billets (3, 4, 6) presents a diameter lying in the range 6 cm to 60 cm, and preferably in the range 15 cm to 35 cm, while the front billet (3) and the rear billet (4) possess a length lying in the range 0.6 m to 4 m, and preferably in the range 0.8 m to 2 m, and the seating billet (6) possesses a length lying in the range 0.4 m to 2 m, and preferably in the range 0.8 m to 1.5 m.
  9. A set of modular construction elements according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the billets (3, 4, 6) are made of solid wood, either rough or reconstituted.
  10. A work, characterized in that it includes a stack of at least two superposed layers of assemblies of modular construction elements in accordance with any one of claims 1 to 9, the bottom layer including at least two modular construction elements (1) having their front billets (3) placed end to end, while the upper layer includes at least one modular construction element (11) with its rear billet (41) bearing against at least one bearing billet (10) of the lower layer.
