- The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein- said first pressing element (16) is a pressing table (16) that can be moved in the vertical plane,- said second pressing element (24) is a pressing rail (24) that can be moved in the horizontal plane,- said apparatus (1) comprises a third pressing element (24) which is also a pressing rail (24) that can be moved in the horizontal plane, and- said two driving units (32) driving the two pressing rails (24) respectively comprise a servo motor (34, 34') to which a variable control profile (122) can be applied.
- A printing material processing machine, in particular adhesive binder (100) or pressing station (110) of an adhesive binder, characterized by an apparatus according to one of the claims 1 to 6.
- A method for pressing a cover (8) onto a printing material block (2) that is moved in a transport direction (6), said cover (8) being pressed onto the printing material block (2) by a first pressing element (16) that is moved in a first direction (12) and by at least one second pressing element (24) that can be moved in a second direction (22) that is substantially transverse to the first direction (12), wherein the movement in the second direction (22) occurs as a function of a variable control profile (122).
- The method according to claim 8, wherein carrying out the step of pressing with said second pressing element (24) is mechanically decoupled from the step of pressing with said first pressing element (16).
- The method according to claim 9, wherein said control profile (122) is checked, adapted and/or corrected as a function of a feedback from said second pressing element (24) or a drive unit assigned thereto.
