Der Behandlungsraum ist über eine Tür 3 zugänglich, die eine Außentür 4 und eine Innentür 5 aufweist. Die Tür 3 lässt sich über eine Betätigungshandhabe 6 öffnen, die ein Profil 7 und eine Griffmulde 8 umfasst. Die Oberseite der Außentür 4 und das Profil 7 sind kraftschlüssig mit Hilfe von zwei Schrauben 9 miteinander verbunden. Alternativ kann das Profil 7 auch an die Außentür 4 geklebt werden. Das Profil 7 weist zwei Schenkel auf, die L-förmig ausgebildet sind und über die gesamte Breite der Außentür 4 angeordnet. Alternativ kann das Profil auch U-förmig ausgebildet sein, wobei die Schenkel des U-förmigen Profils gleiche oder unterschiedliche Längen aufweisen können. An dem senkrecht zur Tür stehenden Schenkel des Profils 7 ist eine Anzeige- und Bedienvorrichtung 9 angeordnet, die vorzugsweise als eine Touch-Screen-Anzeige- und Bedienvorrichtung ausgebildet ist. Alternativ kann die Anzeige- und Bedienvorrichtung 9 elektromechanische Bauelemente wie beispielsweise Tasten aufweisen. An der Außentür 4 ist die Griffmulde 8 eingeformt, die über die gesamte Breite der Außentür 4 verläuft. Die Lichtquelle 12 ist mit einer Steuer- und Regelungselektronik 13 verbunden, in der mehrere Programme abgespeichert sind, die die Teilprogrammschritte "Vorspülen", "Reinigen", "Zwischenspülen", "Klarspüten", "Trocknen" aufweisen. An der oberen Innenseite des Profils 7 ist ein Reflektor 14 angeordnet, der die von der Lichtquelle 12 erzeugten Lichtstrahlen auf die in der Griffmulde 8 angeordnete Projektionsfläche 11 umlenkt. Beim Einsatz einer Linse als optisches Übertragungsmittel 14 wird die Qualität des auf der Projektionsfläche 11 projizierten Abbildes des Betriebszustandes deutlich schärfer erzeugt. Eine weitere Verbesserung der Abbildungsqualität der Projektion des Betriebszustandes bringt eine Kombination eines Spiegels mit einer Linse.
Je nach Betriebszustand wird die Farbe der von der Lichtquelle 12 erzeugten Projektion gewechselt. Bei Beginn des Betriebes kann beispielsweise die Farbe rot für die Projektion gewählt werden, so dass der Benutzer erkennt, dass das Gerät in Betrieb ist. Während des Betriebes kann mittels von Balken, die auf der Projektionsfläche 11 projiziert sind, in verschiedenen Farben die Betriebsdauer angezeigt werden. So kann jeder einzelne Teilprogrammschritt durch Balken angezeigt werden. Nach Beendigung des jeweiligen Teilprogrammschritts erlischen die Balken, so dass der Benutzer stets darüber informiert ist, in welchem Betriebszustand sich die Geschirrspülmaschine befindet. Wenn der Betrieb der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 beendet ist, kann beispielsweise durch eine mit grünen Balken dargestellte Projektion auf der Projektionsfläche 11 dem Benutzer kenntlich gemacht werden, dass die Geschirrspülmaschine 1 zum Entladen des zu behandelnden Gutes bereit ist. Wenn die Projektion auf der Projektionsfläche 11 grün erleuchtet, kann der unmittelbar vor der Tür stehende Benutzer diese erkennen. Er kann die Betätigungshandhabe 6 greifen oder ertasten, da sie über die gesamte Breite der Außentür 4 angeordnet ist und die Tür 3 öffnen.   5. Household appliance (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that at least one shade different from white is assigned to the light source (12) for creating the projection for visualising the operational status.

  7. Household appliance (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that an optical transmission medium is assigned to the light source (12).

  9. Household appliance (1) according to claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the optical transmission medium (14) is arranged in the recessed grip (8) of the actuating handle (6).
  10. Household appliance (1) according to any one of claims 7 to 9, characterised in that the optical transmission medium (14) is embodied as a reflector or a lens.
  11. Household appliance (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the recessed grip (8) of the actuating handle (6) is arranged over the entire width of the door (3).
  12. Household appliance (1) according to claim 1 to 11, characterised in that the actuating handle (6) is embodied as a profile with at least two limbs (7) arranged over the entire width of the door (3).
  13. Household appliance (1) according to claim 12, characterised in that the profile (7) of the actuating handle (6) is embodied as L-shaped.
