Ein besonderer Vorteil eines erfindungsgemäßen Haushaltgeräts besteht darin, dass kein zusätzlicher Platz für die Anzeigeeinheit vorgesehen werden muss. Zum Erreichen einer gut sichtbaren Anzeige sind der Anzeigeeinheit optische Übertragungsmittel zum Ausstrahlen des Lichtstrahls nachgeordnet.

Als optische Übertragungsmittel lassen sich in den Strahlengang eingebrachte optische Projektionssysteme oder Abbildungsmittel, insbesondere eine Linse, ein Prisma, ein Gitter, ein Polarisator, eine Zelle mit nichtlinearen optischen Eigenschaften oder dgl., einsetzen. Dadurch kann eine geeignete Form des Lichtstrahls beim Auftreffen auf einer Fläche erzielt werden. Die Projektionssysteme enthalten beispielsweise eine Mehrzahl optischer Abbildungsmittel, um Lichteffekte zu erzielen, beispielsweise, um das Licht auf dem Boden oder einer sonstigen angestrahlten Wand von links nach rechts, oben nach unter oder sonstiger Weise wandern zu lassen.
Ebenso kann der Lichtstrahl aber auch durch mindestens ein Umlenkmittel zum Umlenken des Lichtstrahls, insbesondere einen Spiegel, umfassen, der den Lichtstrahl in die gewünschte Raumrichtung ablenkt. Der Spiegel oder ein anderes Umlenkmittel kann gleichzeitig zur Strahlaufweitung, d. h. zum Vergrößern, dienen. Dadurch wird eine Anzeige für den Benutzer gut sichtbar. Sie kann dann auch aus der Entfernung noch gut gelesen werden, ohne dass der Benutzer sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zu dem Haushaltgerät aufhalten muss, um die Bedienanzeige zu erkennen. Eine das einheitliche Bild einer Frontplatte störende Anzeigeeinrichtung, wie sie bei herkömmlichen Haushaltgeräten üblich ist, entfällt gemäß der Erfindung.
In einer Weiterbildung der Erfindung ist der Umlenkwinkel des Umlenkmittels veränderbar. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, dass entweder das Umlenkmittel beweglich angeordnet ist und durch einen kleinen Motor bewegt wird, oder die optischen Eigenschaften des Umlenkmittels werden z. B. durch Anlegen eines elektrischen Feldes verändert.
Insbesondere ist als Umlenkmittel eine an sich bekannte drehbewegliche Spiegelanordnung, insbesondere ein Polygonspiegel, geeignet.
Eine hohe Aufmerksamkeit für die Anzeigen des Haushaltgeräts seitens der Benutzer lässt sich dadurch erzielen, dass das Anzeigeelement mehrere Anzeigen umfasst, die Licht in verschiedenen Farben, verschiedenen Strahldurchmesserformen, verschiedenen Anzeigewiederholdauern usw. anzeigen. Überdies kann die Anzeige auch einen Text umfassen, der dem Benutzer bestimmte Hinweise über den Betriebszustand des Geräts, über das Nachfüllen von Verbrauchsmitteln für das Gerät, Defekte an dem Gerät oder sonstige allgemeine Informationen, insbesondere des Herstellers des Geräts, oder beispielsweise Nachrichten, gibt. Die Anzeige kann in an sich bekannter Weise in Form von Balkendiagrammen oder kreissegmentförmigen Darstellungen gestaltet werden, um eine übersichtliche und schnell erfassbare Information für den Benutzer zu geben.
Der Anzeigeeinheit eine Bedieneinheit zugeordnet die im geschlossenen Zustand verborgen auf der Oberseite einer nach vorn oder seitlich schwenkbaren Fronttür angebracht ist. Aber in diesen Fällen ist stets ein wenigstens teilweises Öffnen der Fronttür erforderlich. Dies kann vermieden werden, wenn die Bedienung ausschließlich auf optischem Wege erfolgt, indem beispielsweise die Streuung oder Reflexion von Licht geändert wird, wenn ein Fuß in den Lichtstrahl hineintritt oder wenn ein Fuß eine bestimmte Bewegung vollzieht, die von mehreren Detektoren in Verbindung mit einander detektiert wird, so dass etwa aus der Richtung der Bewegung des Fußes ein Befehl für das Haushaltgerät in der Steuereinrichtung abgeleitet wird.
Von Vorteil ist es ebenfalls, wenn ein von der Anzeigeeinheit emittierter Lichtstrahl zur Bedienung des Haushaltsgeräts zu einem Sensor reflektierbar ist, dieser kann an einer von dem Haushaltgerät weit entfernten Stelle angeordnet sein, sofern nur eine Signalübertragung zwischen dem Haushaltgerät und dem Sensor gewährleistet ist. In einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist der Sensor jedoch ebenfalls unterhalb der Fronttür angeordnet.
Es versteht sich, dass eine Mehrzahl von Anzeigeeinheiten bzw. Anzeigemitteln im Sinne der Erfindung an der Unterseite des Haushaltgeräts angeordnet sein können.
Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung in Ausführungsbeispielen anhand der Zeichnung näher erläutert. Diese zeigen:

In particular, a known rotatable mirror arrangement, in particular a polygon mirror, is suitable as deflection means.
A high level of attention for users' displays of the household appliance may be obtained by the display element comprising a plurality of displays displaying light in different colors, different beam diameter shapes, different display repeat durations, and so on. Eine Geschirrspülmaschine 1 (Fig. 2a, b) umfasst eine Fronttür 2 mit einer Tragplatte 3, die über ein (hier nicht dargestelltes) Scharnier schwenkbar in der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 gelagert ist. Auf der Tragplatte 3 ist eine Frontverkleidung 30 aufgebracht.
Die Geschirrspülmaschine 1 weist ferner eine Steuereinrichtung 4 auf, die über (ebenfalls nicht dargestellte) Steuerleitungen mit Antrieben wie dem der Laugen- und der Umwälzpumpe sowie weiteren Aktoren verbunden ist. Die Steuereinrichtung 4 fragt alle in der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 vorhandenen Aggregate über ihren jeweiligen Zustand ab..Diesen gibt sie dann entweder kontinuierlich oder in bestimmten Zeitabständen über eine Signalleitung 40 an einen Halbleiterlaser 5 weiter, der auf der Unterseite der Fronttür 2, d. h. entweder auf der Tragplatte 3 oder auf der Frontverkleidung 30 aufgebracht ist. Dem Halbleiterlaser 5 sind in Emissionsrichtung optische Abbildungsmittel nachgeordnet. Beispielsweise ist eine Streulinse 6 in den Strahlengang eines von dem Halbleiterlaser 5 erzeugten Lichtstrahls 7 eingebracht, die diesen aufweitet.
Der Lichtstrahl 7 erzeugt auf einer Bodenfläche 8 eine kreisförmige Abbildung 9, die dem Benutzer der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 eine Information über deren aktuellen Status gibt, beispielsweise darüber, dass ein Spülprogramm mit einer maximalen Spültemperatur von 60° C abläuft. Die Abbildung 9 hat rote Farbe.
Die Steuereinrichtung 4 ist über eine weitere Signalleitung 41 mit einem weiteren Halbleiterlaser 10 verbunden, der etwa blaues Licht emittiert und eine entsprechende, rechteckige Abbildung 11 generiert, die anzeigt, ob in der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 noch genügend Salz zum Regenerieren des Ionentauschers vorhanden ist.
Zwei optische Sensoren 12, 13 sind ebenfalls auf der Unterseite der Tragplatte 3 oder der Frontverkleidung 30 oder innerhalb der Fronttür 2 angebracht, die beispielsweise die Vorbeibewegung eines Fußes detektieren. Die Sensoren 12, 13 sind ebenfalls mit Signalleitungen mit der Steuereinrichtung 4 verbunden, um in dieser einen Befehl für den Betrieb der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 auszulösen, wenn sie ein optisches Signal empfangen.
Ein Sensor kann zusammen mit einer Lichtquelle auch einen Näherungsschalter bilden: sobald von der Lichtquelle emittiertes Licht in den Sensor reflektiert wird, löst dieser in der Steuerschaltung ein Signal aus, beispielsweise den Beginn eines Reinigungsvorgangs.
Bei einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung (Fig. 2a, b) ist vorgesehen, dass die Unterseite der Fronttür 2 innerhalb eines Gehäuses 20 der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 gelagert ist und dass ein Gehäusevorsprung 200 des Gehäuses 20 auch die Unterseite der Fronttür 2 bedeckt. In diesem Fall sind daher die Halbleiterlaser 5, 10 und die Sensoren 12, 13 auf dem Gehäusevorsprung 200 angeordnet. Auf ihrer Oberseite ist die Fronttür 2 im verschlossenen Zustand von einer Arbeitsplatte 14 bedeckt. Wenn die Fronttür 2 um einen geringen Winkel nach vorn geneigt wird, wird ein Bedientableau 15 zugänglich, über das die Geschirrspülmaschine 1 zusätzlich zu den optischen Bedieneinrichtungen in Form der Sensoren 12, 13 bedient werden kann. Unterhalb der Fronttür 2 ist auf der Vorderseite der Geschirrspülmaschine 1 eine Sockelabdeckung 16 vorhanden.
Die Halbleiterlaser 5, 10 und die Sensoren 12, 13 lassen sich in verschiedenen Positionen unterhalb der Fronttür 2 oder des Gehäusevorsprungs 200 anordnen, wie Fig. 3a bis 3b zeigen: Ein Halbleiterlaser 21 (Fig. 3a) ist unter der Unterseite des Gehäusevorsprungs 200 befestigt und strahlt sein Licht senkrecht nach unten auf die Bodenfläche 8. Von dort wird ein Teil des Lichts in eine Richtung 22 gestreut und gelangt damit in die Augen einer Person, die im Bereich der Möbelfront anwesend ist.
In einer zweiten Ausführungsform wird das Licht eines Halbleiterlasers 23 zunächst von der Unterseite der Tragplatte 3 der Fronttür 2 zu der Sockelabdeckung 16 gestrahlt und von einem Spiegel 24 auf die Bodenfläche 8 reflektiert. Der Spiegel 24 ist entweder ein planarer Spiegel oder auch ein Parabolspiegel.
In einer dritten Ausführungsform (Fig. 3c) ist eine Leuchtdiode 25 an der Sockelabdeckung 16 befestigt. Vor der Leuchtdiode 25 ist eine Sammellinse 26 zur Bündelung des von der Leuchtdiode 25 ausgestrahlten Lichtbündels angeordnet, die das Licht auf die Bodenfläche 8 abstrahlt. Anstelle der einzigen Sammellinse 26 kann auch ein Projektionssystem mit einer Mehrzahl von optischen Abbildungsmitteln vorgesehen werden. Anstelle der Bodenfläche 8 lässt sich bei einer anderen Einstellung der jeweiligen Lichtquelle der Lichtstrahl auch auf eine senkrechte Wand richten, so dass ein Benutzer dort bequem eine Information von der Geschirrspülmaschine entnehmen kann, ohne seinen Blick nach unten richten zu müssen.
Motorisch, beispielsweise durch einen drehbaren Spiegel, oder durch Anlegen eines elektrischen Feldes an ein in den Strahlengang gebrachtes optisches nicht-lineares Bauelement lässt sich der Lichtstrahl bewegen, um besondere Informationen an den Benutzer des Haushaltgeräts zu geben.
Zur Bewegung des Lichtstrahls kann auch ein Polygonspiegel zum Einsatz kommen, wie er beispielsweise aus der EP 0 346 015 B1 bekannt ist.

In one embodiment of the invention ( Fig. 2a, b ) it is provided that the underside of the front door 2 is mounted within a housing 20 of the dishwasher 1 and that a housing projection 200 of the housing 20 also covers the underside of the front door 2. In this case, therefore, the semiconductor lasers 5, 10 and the sensors 12, 13 are arranged on the housing projection 200. On its upper side, the front door 2 is covered by a worktop 14 in the closed state. If the front door 2 at a low angle is tilted forward, a control panel 15 is accessible, via which the dishwasher 1 in addition to the optical control devices in the form of sensors 12, 13 can be operated. The semiconductor lasers 5, 10 and the sensors 12, 13 can be arranged in different positions below the front door 2 or the housing projection 200, such as Fig. 3a to 3b show: a semiconductor laser 21 ( Fig. 3a ) is mounted under the underside of the housing projection 200 and radiates its light vertically down to the bottom surface 8. In a second embodiment, the light of a semiconductor laser 23 is first radiated from the underside of the support plate 3 of the front door 2 to the base cover 16 and reflected by a mirror 24 on the bottom surface 8. The mirror 24 is either a planar mirror or a parabolic mirror.
In a third embodiment ( Fig. 3c ), a light emitting diode 25 is fixed to the base cover 16. In front of the light-emitting diode 25, a converging lens 26 for focusing the emitted light beam from the light emitting diode 25 is arranged, which radiates the light on the bottom surface 8. Instead of the single converging lens 26, a projection system having a plurality of optical imaging means may also be provided. Claims (11)

  1. Dishwasher (1)
    a) having at least one optical display unit for displaying at least one operating state of the dishwasher by means of a light beam,
    b) wherein at least one means allocated to the display unit is disposed in or on the housing and/or in or on a front door (2) of the dishwasher,
    c) wherein the optical display takes place outside the dishwasher,
    d) wherein the dishwasher (1) may be fitted in a row of kitchen units and comprises a housing (20), a front door (2) that can be pivoted downwards and a base strip (16) which is set back below the front door (2),
