In den Fig. 1 bis 3 ist eine Einrichtung 1 zur Verarbeitung und/oder zum Transport von flachen Versanstücken 2 veranschaulicht oder Teile davon. Als flache Versandstücke gelten in Umschläge eingesteckte Dokumente und/oder Briefe, Mustersendungen, Karten oder dgl., gleicher oder unterschiedlicher Dicke. Die Einrichtung 1 weist eine Fördervorrichtung 3, bestehend aus mehreren eine Förderebene für Versandstücke 2 bildenden Förderrollen 4 bis 8 auf, die einen Förderweg der Versandstücke 2 bestimmen. Der Förderweg ist einenends zur Beschikkung eines Vereinzelungsorgans 9 ausgebildet, welches die gestapelt oder einzeln zugeführten Versandstücke 2 zur Weiterverarbeitung hintereinander weiter fördert. Das Vereinzelungsorgan 9 besteht aus einer Antriebsrolle 6, die der Fördervorrichtung 3 zugeordnet ist und auf die Unterseite der Versandstücke 2 kraft- resp. reibungsschlüssig einwirkt. Eine darüber stromabwärts versetzt angeordnete Anstellvorrichtung 11, die gemäss den Fig. 1 bis 3 als Führungsrolle ausgebildet ist, hält zur Meidung von Doppelabzügen überzählige Versandstücke 2 auf, die an der Führungsrolle 11 eintreffen. Die Führungsrolle 11 liegt im Leerlauf auf der Antriebsrolle 6 auf und wirkt mit dieser beim Transport der Versandstücke 2 zusammen, wobei beide Rollen 6, 11 um eine quer zur Förderrichtung verlaufende horizontale Achse gelagert sind. Die Anstellvorrichtung 11, die auch als Segmentteil einer Rolle ausgebildet sein könnte, bildet mit der Antriebsrolle 6 eine schlitzförmige Durchtrittsöffnung 12, die von den Versandstücken 2 flachliegend passiert wird. Die Führungsrolle 11 ist zusätzlich, jedoch nicht notwendigerweise von einer nachgiebigen Kraft, beispielsweise einer Federkraft belastet, um bedarfsfalls von den durchlaufenden Versandstücken 2, insbesondere dicken Versandstücken 2 angehoben werden zu können. Das Aufhalten überzähliger Versandstücke 2 erfolgt dadurch, dass die Anstellvorrichtung bzw. Führungsrolle 11 mit einer gegen die gleichsinnig zur Förderrichtung wirkenden Drehrichtung beaufschlagten Kraft gebremst wird. Dadurch soll verhindert werden, dass überzählige Versandstücke 2 zwischen die Antriebsrolle 6 und die Anstellvorrichtung 11 gelangen bzw. Mehrfachabzüge nicht entstehen. Die Anstellvorrichtung oder Führungsrolle 11 weist eine auf die Breite verteilte Vertiefung 13 auf (siehe auch Fig. 4), sodass sich ein Versandstück 2 beim Passieren entsprechend leicht verformen resp. an die wechselnden Konturen anpassen kann. Sowohl bei dünnen als auch bei dicken Versandstücken 2, 2', 2" unterstützen die über den Förderweg wechselnden Konturen an der Anstellvorrichtung resp. der Führungsrolle 11 den Trennvorgang des jeweils untersten Versandstückes 2 von den nachfolgenden Versandstücken 2', 2". Die Vertiefung 13 ist breiter ausgebildet als ein mit ihr zusammenwirkender Teil der Antriebsrolle 6. Diese wiederum übersteht die Führungsrolle 11 beidseits, sodass eine verteilte und schonende Förderwirkung auf die Versandstücke 2 entstehen kann.
Die Fig. 4 veranschaulicht in einer Ansicht in Förderrichtung der Versandstücke, ein Versandstück 2, das teilweise auf der Antriebsrolle 6 liegend die Durchtrittsöffnung 12 passiert, während die darüberliegenden Versandstücke 2', 2" an der Anstellvorrichtung resp. der Führungsrolle 11 mit der Vorderkante anstehen. Sobald die hintere Kante des untersten Versandstücks 2 die Durchtrittsöffnung 12 erreicht hat, kommt das zuvor darüberliegende Versandstück 2' in den Wirkbereich der Antriebsrolle 6, die erneut dieses Versandstück 2' durch den Schlitz hinter der Durchtrittsöffnung 12 transportiert. Die gemäss Zeichnung als Führungsrolle ausgebildete Anstellvorrichtung 11 weist eine Reibungskupplung 14 auf, die an einer in einem Gestell 15 ortsfesten Achse 16 der Führungsrolle 11 angeordnet und einerseits mit der Achse 16 und andererseits mittels nebeneinander angeordneten Lamellen 17 mit der Führungsrolle 11 friktionsverbunden ist.
Die Fig. 3 verdeutlicht eine mögliche Ausführungsform der Anstellvorrichtung resp. der Führungsrolle 11, die an einer in dem Gestell 15 befestigten Achse 16 gelagert ist. Die quer zur Förderrichtung der Versandstücke 2 verlaufende und die Führungsrolle 11 durchsetzende Achse 16 ist an den Enden durch Schrauben 17 an dem Gestell 15 befestigt. Die Führungsrolle 11 weist einen Hohlraum 18 auf, in welchem eine die Achse 16 umgebende Druckfeder 19 einer Reibungskupplung 25 einseitig an einem Stellring 20 anliegend zugeordnet ist. Das gegenüberliegende Ende der Druckfeder 19 drückt auf mehrere an der Achse 16 nebeneindander stehende Reibscheiben oder Lamellen 21, welche wiederum an einer mit der inneren Stirnwand 22 der Führungsrolle 11 verbundenen Scheibe 27 abgestützt sind. Alternativ könnte die Führungsrolle 11 achsial verschiebbar auf der Achse 16 befestigt sein und durch den von der Druckfeder 19 auf die innere Stirnwand 22 erzeugten Druck gegen eine ausserhalb des Gehäuses 26 der Reibungskupplung 25 auf der Achse 16 befestigte Bremsscheibe 24 gepresst werden. Um den Reibungsschluss zu verändern ist das den Hohlraum 18 bildende Gehäuse 26 mit einer abnehmbaren, als seitlicher Lagerflansch 27 der Führungsrolle 11 dienenden Scheibe 27 versehen.
Die Führungsrolle 11 ist am Umfang mit einem den Vereinzelungsvorgang begünstigenden Belag 28 ausgestattet, der mit der Vertiefung 13 versehen ist.
Auch die Förderrollen 4 bis 7 oder 8 der Fördervorrichtung 3 weisen sinngemäss Beläge am Umfang auf.
Die Fig. 1 und 2 zeigen eine dem Vereinzelungsorgan 9 vorgeschaltete, angetriebene Beschickungsrolle 5, die aus zwei Rollenkörpern 30, 31 mit achsial getrenntem Umfang besteht, die einen friktionsaktiven Belag aufweisen. Wie die übrigen eine Förderebene bildenden Förderrollen 4, 6, 7 der Fördervorrichtung 3 übersteht auch die Beschickungsrolle 5 mit ihrer Oberfläche eine mit Ausnehmungen 54 für die Förderrollen 4 bis 7 ausgebildete flache Abdeckung 32 um einige Millimeter. Die Beschickungsrolle 5 sorgt für den Kontakt des jeweils untersten Versandstükkes 2 eines Stapels mit der Antriebsrolle 6 und einer in Förderrichtung vor dem Vereinzelungsorgan 9 und gegen die Förderrichtung der Versandstücke 2 geneigten Anschlagvorrichtung 33, die einer Vor-Fächerung der in einem Stapel anstehenden Versandstücke 2 an der Vorderkante dient. Die Unterkante der eine Anschlagfläche 34 aufweisenden Anschlagvorrichtung 33 ist gegenüber der Förderebene der Versandstücke 2 soweit distanziert, dass jeweils wenigstens ein Versandstück 2 oder einige wenige Versandstücke 2 eines Stapels - wie oben beschrieben - an der Anstellvorrichtung resp. der Führungsrolle 11 anstehen. Die gegenüber der Förderebene eine Lücke 35 bildende Anschlagvorrichtung 33 ist höhenverstellbar angeordnet, sodass der Durchlass zwischen Unterkante und Förderebne einstellbar ist. Die Beschickungsrolle 5 weist am Umfang die geringere Geschwindigkeit auf als die Antriebsrolle 6. Damit bei der Uebernahme eines Versandstückes 2 durch die Antriebsrolle 6 resp. das Vereinzelungsorgan 9 aufgrund einer höheren Umfangsgeschwindigkeit letzterer keine unerwünschte Gleitreibung zwischen Versandstück 2 und der Beschickungsrolle 5 entsteht, ist diese mit einem in Förderrichtung der Versandstücke 2 wirkender Freilauf ausgebildet.
Der Weitertransport der Versandstücke 2 hinter dem Vereinzelungsorgan 9 erfolgt durch zwei übereinander gelagerte, für die durchlaufenden Versandstücke 2 einen Förderspalt bildenden Förderrollen 7, 8, von denen die untere als angetriebene Förderrolle 7 die grössere Umfangsgeschwindigkeit als die in der gleichen Richtung drehende Antriebsrolle 6 aufweist, sodass die Versandstücke hinter dem Vereinzelungsorgan 9 beschleunigt fortbewegt werden. Die über der Förderrolle 7 angeordnete Förderrolle 8 ist frei drehbar an dem in Förderrichtung hinteren Ende einer zu einer Briefschliessvorrichtung 36 gehörenden Wippe 37 gelagert, über welche die Förderrolle 8 mittels einer Zugfeder 38 auf die durchlaufenden Versandstücke 2 gedrückt wird.
Die Fig. 1 zeigt weiterhin die Anordnungsweise der Anstellvorrichtung resp. der Führungsrolle 11 innerhalb der Einrichtung 1. Hierzu weist das zwei durch Abstandhalter 39, 40 distanzierte Schilde 41, 42 aufweisende Gestell 15 eine quer zur Förderrichtung der Versandstücke 2 verlaufende, an den Schildern 39, 40 befestigte Schwenkachse 43 auf, an der beidseits der Führungsrolle 11 zwei etwa dreieckförmige Lagerplatten 44, 45 schwenkbar gelagert und durch eine quer zur Förderrichtung der Versandstücke 2 verlaufende Verbindungsstange 46 verbunden sind.

Die mittelbar/unmittelbar an die Förderrollen 7,8 anschliessende, zur Briefschliessvorrichtung 36 gehörende Wippe 37 ist an dem in Förderrichtung der Versandstücke 2 rückwärtigen Ende beidseits mit einem stehend oval geformten Schlitz 50 versehen, die von der Schwenkachse 43 des Lagerbocks 47 durchsetzt werden und die senkrechten Bewegungen der Wippe 37 begrenzen. Die am hinteren Ende der Wippe 37 gelagerte Förderrolle 8 wird durch die Zugfedern 38 gegen die angetriebene Förderrolle 7 gezogen, von der sie sich bei durchlaufenden Versandstücken 2 abheben kann. Die frei drehbar gelagerte Förderrolle 8 wird von der Förderrolle 7 direkt oder über ein durchlaufendes Versandstück reibungsschlüssig angetrieben.
An dem in Förderrichtung vorderen Ende der Briefschliessvorrichtung 36 weist die Wippe 37 eine weitere, mit einer darunter gelagerten angetriebenen Förderrolle 51 zusammenwirkende Förderrolle 52 auf. Diese Förderrolle 52 wird mittels Zugfedern 53 gegen die Förderolle 51 gepresst und kann sich bei durchlaufenden Versandstücken 2 von der Förderrolle 51 entsprechend der Versandstückdicke abheben. Das Förderrollenpaar 51,52 weist etwa die gleiche Fördergeschwindigkeit wie das Förderrollenpaar 7,8 auf. Beide Förderrollenpaare 51,52; 7,8 transportieren die Versandstücke 2 durch die Briefschliessvorrichtung 36, die Teil einer in Fig 1 und 2 dargestellten Geräteeinheit ist.

The mounted at the rear end of the rocker 37 conveyor roller 8 is pulled by the tension springs 38 against the driven conveyor roller 7, from which it can stand out in continuous packages 2. The device unit can be preceded by a franking machine in an effective manner.

Claims (12)

  1. Device (1) for processing and/or transporting flat postal items (2), such as documents and/or letters inserted into envelopes, samples, cards or the like, on a conveying path formed by a conveyor (3) having conveying rollers (5, 6, 7), one end of the conveying path being formed by a separating means (9) to which postal items (2) are fed for individual processing, wherein the separating means (9) has a drive roller (6) extending transversely to the conveying direction and mounted to rotate about a horizontal axis, acting frictionally on the underside of a postal item (2) and cooperating with a queuing device (11) arranged thereabove to hold back surplus postal items, characterised in that the queuing device (11) is designed as a guide roller, wherein the axis of rotation of the guide roller (11) is offset relative to the axis of rotation of the drive roller (6) downstream of the postal items (2), wherein the guide roller is arranged to rest on the drive roller (6) in the idle state, is designed in such a manner that it can be raised relative to the drive roller (6) and is rotatably mounted with a force that can act against the direction of rotation acting in the same direction as the conveying direction, wherein the force inhibiting the rotational movement of the guide roller (11) is formed by a friction clutch (25), wherein the guide roller (11) and the drive roller (6) form a slot-shaped opening (12) through which the postal items (2) pass lying flat and wherein the guide roller (11) on the drive roller is subjected to a resilient force so that it can be raised from the postal items (2) passing through if necessary,
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the guide roller (11) is fed to the drive roller (6) on a bearing block (47) pivotable about a horizontal axis (43).
  3. Device according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the drive roller (6) extends beyond the guide roller (11) at both ends.
  4. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the friction clutch (25) is arranged in a hollow space (18) in the guide roller (11).
  5. Device according to claim 4, characterised in that the hollow space (18) is formed by a two-part housing (26), one part of which is designed as a removable bearing flange (27) of the guide roller (11).
  6. Device according to claim 5, characterised in that the friction clutch (25) has a compression spring (19) supported on the axle and acting on at least one plate (21) that bears against an inner end wall of the guide roller (11) and generates friction during rotation.
  7. Device according to claim 6, characterised in that the pressure of the compression spring (19) is adjustable.
  8. Device according to claim 7, characterised in that the guide roller (11) is mounted on the axle in such a manner that it can be displaced rotationally and axially and its end face is subjected to the pressure of a compression spring (19) supported on the axle in the hollow space (18) so that it can be pressed against a friction disc (24) mounted on the axle.
  9. Device according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the drive roller (6) has at least approximately the same effective conveying diameter as the guide roller (11).
  10. Device according to one of claims 1 to 9, comprising a feed roller (5) disposed upstream of the drive roller (6), characterised in that the feed roller (5) has a lower circumferential speed than the drive roller (6).
  11. Device according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that a stop device (33) extending at an incline from bottom to top against the conveying direction is arranged above the conveying path of the postal items (2) and upstream of the guide roller (11).
  12. Device according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that it is disposed upstream of a franking machine for positive conveying.
