Claims (6)

  1. Apparatus for cleaning a suspension, preferably a fibre-containing suspension for papermaking;
    having a screen basket to the outer surface of which the suspension to be cleaned is fed and from the inner surface of which the screened accepted material is discharged;
    having a housing (2) which surrounds the screen basket and has a feed (3) for the suspension to be cleaned, an accepted material outlet (4) for the cleaned suspension and a rejected material outlet (5) for impurities;
    having a cleaning device which runs around the screen basket axis on the outer side of the screen basket and has foils which sweep along on the outer surface of the screen basket (1),
    the cleaning device comprising a drum (6) with a cylinder (8) which surrounds the screen basket (1), and
    the cylinder (8) being provided with apertures,
    characterized in that
    the cylinder (8) carries a multiplicity of foils (9) on its inner side facing the screen basket (1), and the number of foils (9) per square metre of screen basket area is between 2 and 10.
  2. Apparatus according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the screen basket (1) is arranged vertically.
  3. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2,
    characterized in that
    the drum (6) can be rotated in the circumferential direction about the axis of the screen basket (1).
  4. Apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 3,
    characterized in that
    the cylinder (8) of the drum is built up from a cage.
  5. Apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 4,
    characterized in that
    the foils (9) have an aerofoil profile.
  6. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the radial thickness (A) of the drum (6) with the foils (9) is at most 20%, preferably at most 10%, of the external diameter (D) of the drum (6).
