Description

The invention relates to an apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1.

As is known, the paper pulp required for paper production is first treated on the paper machine in the so-called stock preparation. In a majority of the process steps to be carried out in this plant section of the paper mill, the fibers are treated and processed in suspension, in particular an aqueous suspension, with a fiber content of between 0.5 and 8%. A large part of these process steps is carried out in closed apparatuses, which therefore belong to a closed system.

Apparatuses of the kind mentioned in the introduction can e.g. Pressure sorters in which - as known per se - the pulp suspension to be treated by means of an applied pressure difference through a wet sieve, e.g. a screen cylinder, also called screen basket, is pumped through. In this case, a part of the pulp suspension is rejected at the openings of the screen and removed through a separate opening from the housing. In order to prevent the sieve from being clogged by fibers or rejected contaminants, a rotor is moved close to it.

From the publications D1 102 33 364 C1 and EP-A1-1 215 335 Pressure sorters are known in which the supplied suspension flow is detected after entering the housing of an apertured rotor and pressed after passing through the openings against fixed stator elements.

Apparatus of this type can also be designed so that they serve for venting or degassing of the pulp suspension. In this case, the suspension is set into rapid rotation with the aid of the rotor, whereby gases - in particular air - accumulate in the center as a result of the centrifugal forces occurring in the process and then removed through a suitable opening. Bleeding apparatus of this type are suitable for replacing expensive vacuum-operated degassing tanks. They can be arranged with particular advantage directly in front of a pressure-increasing material pump, which further promotes the suspension to the next treatment stage.

The drive power used to drive the rotor is of course a cost factor in the operation of such an apparatus.

It is an object of this invention to improve apparatuses of the above-mentioned type so that the energy required for the drive decreases, without thereby adversely affecting the desired effect of the apparatus occur.

This object is achieved on an apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1 by the features mentioned in the characterizing part of this claim.

The measures mentioned contribute significantly to hydraulically optimize apparatuses intended for pulp treatment. It is not intended for pumps or turbines, which are known to have been designed for a long time under purely hydraulic aspects, so where the optimization of energy efficiency has tradition.

In the invention, the pressure energy originating from the upstream pump is converted into kinetic energy with little loss. Disturbing and energy-consuming vortices are largely avoided or at least reduced.

In the Fig. 1 embodiment shown for an apparatus according to the invention serves as a venting apparatus. Although this illustration contains no design details, but makes the function of such an apparatus sufficiently clear. In a stationary housing 1, a drum-shaped rotor 2 is arranged, the interior of which is supplied with a liquid to be degassed, in particular a paper fiber suspension S. It serves to put the inflowing pulp suspension S in a rotational flow. The housing 1 of this apparatus has a rotationally symmetrical, in this case cylindrical part, in which the rotor 2 is arranged concentrically. From the inlet 4, which opens here in the center of the housing 1, the added liquid passes radially outward flowing through a hydraulically acting guide element 3. This is typically constructed annularly and also arranged concentrically with the rotor 2. It has several blades and is closed at the bottom, so that form 6 channels 5 between the blades. These direct the flowed-in fiber suspension radially outward and put them in rotation, whose sense of rotation is equal to the rotational flow generated by the rotor 2. The effect of the rotor 2 can be enhanced by co-rotating blades or entrainment bars 12 mounted therein.

As a result of the centrifugal forces, the liquid is applied to the inner wall of the rotor 2, wherein the gas contained therein 7, in particular the air, migrates radially inwards. In general, a separation surface between the liquid and the gas forms 7. By a central degassing 8, the gas 7 can be removed or sucked. During continuous operation of this degassing, for example, by an input throttle 9 the Operating conditions are controlled so that a continuous flow of liquid from the inlet 4 to the outlet 10 is formed.

In the case of the drum-shaped rotor 2, the wall is designed to be liquid-permeable in the region of the outlet 10, e.g. by attaching openings 11 in this area. The outlet 10 is advantageously attached tangentially, in such a way that the rotational flow of the liquid degassed at this point causes a pressure build-up in the outlet 10. The openings 11 in the wall of the rotor 2 are so large that they do not lead to a sorting of the degassed liquid, so can not form Feststoffrejekt.

The in Fig. 1 Apparatus shown can also be used to remove light dirt from a pulp suspension S. As is known, a proportion of such impurities, for example plastic foam particles ("polystyrene"), which accumulates centrally due to the centrifugal forces, can be contained in particular in the treatment of waste paper. It can then be deducted by a suitably designed lightweight exhaust pipe, which is the same or similar to the degassing 8 of the Fig. 1 ,

Fig. 2 shows the upper part of a venting device according to the invention in top view. According to this illustration, the guide element 3 contains an annularly designed guide element 3 in which a total of eight guide vanes 6 are located, which have essentially planar guide surfaces. In order to be able to fulfill the desired purpose, namely to set the inflowing pulp suspension in rotation, these guide vanes 6 are inclined relative to the radius. Between the guide vanes 6 are the channels 5, through which the inflowing suspension S is guided radially outwards and thereby set in rotation.

The guide element is closed by a top wall 13 and an opposite bottom wall 14, such as the 3 and 4 make clear. Between the top wall 13 and the bottom wall 14 are located the guide vanes 6. It is possible to perform top wall 13 and bottom wall 14 as a plane parallel coaxial disks, of course, the top wall 13 must be provided with a central passage opening 15 for the inflowing suspension. Will - as in Fig. 4 shown - the top wall 13 (or in other cases, the bottom wall 14) provided with a curved inner contour, this leads to the fact that the distance to the opposite wall and thus the height of the flow channels 5 decreases towards the outside. This has the advantage that during operation of the apparatus, the flow velocity does not decrease radially from the inside to the outside too much or may even be increased.

It may bring further advantages, the guide vanes 6 'of the guide element 3' (see Fig. 5 ) curved to thereby prevent unwanted eddies. In addition, this illustration shows in Fig. 5 in that the thickness of the guide vanes 6 'of the guide element 3' increases towards the outside, with the advantage of a decrease in the flow cross-section. This aspect has already been discussed.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is a Drucksortierer, as shown in the Fig. 6 is shown by an example. It has a sieve 17, for example a sieve basket, in order, for example, to retain contaminants from the suspension, which can then be removed from the housing 1 'by a reject outlet 18. The functions of such a pressure sorter used in paper production have already been explained in the introduction. Even with such an apparatus can be made by application of the invention, in particular by the use of a suitable guide element 3, a particularly low-loss implementation of hydraulic pressure energy in kinetic energy. It should be noted that in the case of pressure sorters, a relative speed between the rotor and the suspension is generally desirable in order to obtain the clearing action of the rotor. Nevertheless, the invention can offer advantages here, in particular if an increased separation of air and / or light parts is to be achieved. Disturbing eddies when accelerating the suspension through the rotor can be avoided.

In cases where the inlet is arranged centrally in the housing of the pressure sorter, the procedure may be similar, as already described in examples of the deaeration apparatus (US Pat. Fig. 1 to 5 ) was shown.

Fig. 6 und 7). In other pressure graders, however, the feed of the suspension to be sorted is not carried out centrally, but tangentially or radially (see, for example, US Pat 6 and 7 ). In such cases, the guide element 3 can be used in cooperation with an outer annular channel 16, said annular channel 16 may be substantially rotationally symmetrical to the center of the sorter or as a spiral housing, as it is known, for example, in the discharge side of centrifugal pumps.
