Description
The invention meets a contact socket for a pin.
There are a variety of different contact sockets, all based on the principle that a substantially cylindrical opening is present in a component into which a pin can be inserted as a plug. If the plug is a solid pin, the jacks are usually formed as resilient tongues.
The invention is based on the object to provide a contact socket, which has a large holding force for the pin and at the same time the lowest possible contact resistance. At the same time, the contact socket should also be produced economically.
To solve this problem, the invention proposes a contact socket with the features mentioned in
Due to the proposed by the invention division of the functions of the contact socket in an inner sleeve having certain resilient properties, and a surrounding this unslotted outer sleeve, it is possible to tolerate the deformation possibilities of the slotted inner sleeve very closely. Because a further evasion of the inner sleeve to the outside is avoided by the non-compliant outer sleeve available there. As a result, large holding forces over a large area and thus low contact resistance can be realized. In addition to this advantage, there is the possibility of producing the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve from different materials. Thus, it is possible to orientate the material of the inner sleeve primarily on the electrical properties, while for the outer sleeve a responsible for the strength of material can be selected.
In the invention it can be provided that the inner sleeve and / or the surrounding outer sleeve are punched from sheet metal and then bent. The punching of a piece of sheet metal is a simple process, so that the manufacturing cost can be kept low. When punching, in particular, the slots can be produced in a simple manner.
In the invention, it may be provided that the inner sleeve has a slot area extending from its one end with at least one slot, which is preferably arranged approximately in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve or possibly slightly oblique to this longitudinal direction.
In the invention, it may be provided that the inner sleeve has an unslotted portion extending from its one end. This unslotted area can serve, in particular in a further development, to fasten the inner sleeve, for example, to a printed circuit board.
It makes sense, of course, if the unslotted area and the slotted area join each other. This can then also be achieved that when inserting a pin this first engages in the area provided with spring properties and only at the end of the insertion process reaches the area where no expansion is possible.
In the invention may be provided for fastening the inner sleeve, that it has at one end at least one, preferably a plurality of contact pins for pressing in holes in a plate, in particular for pressing into plated-through holes of a printed circuit board. These pins can be produced during punching. They are thus arranged after bending the sheet metal blank to a closed sleeve along a circle, so that then accordingly the holes in the plate should be arranged along a circle.
According to the invention it can be provided that the outer sleeve and the inner sleeve have approximately the same length, wherein it is also possible that the outer sleeve is slightly shorter or possibly also slightly longer than the inner sleeve.
It has already been mentioned that it makes sense according to the invention to produce the sleeves from a sheet metal blank by punching. The invention now proposes that the mutually remote longitudinal edges of the blank, which touch after the manufacture of the sleeve each other or directly opposite, so that they can be positively connected with each other after bending the sleeve. By this form-fitting, which forms itself during bending, the edges of the blanks are connected to each other, without additional processing would have to be done.
For example, the positive connection may have an undercut recess in one longitudinal edge and a complementary projection in the other longitudinal edge.
The undercut recess, which can also be produced during punching, can, for example, have the shape of an approximate circle, which merges into the longitudinal edge via a narrow neck.
It has proven to be particularly useful that the slot area has four slots of equal length.
According to the invention can be provided in a further development that the standing between the slots tongues of the slot portion are slightly pre-deformed inward, thereby to make the spring properties are more effective.
In a further development of the invention can be provided that the length of the slot portion is slightly smaller than the length of the connector pin, for which the contact socket is determined.
