Device for assembling a safety binding on a ski having two ski binding parts - a toe piece and a heel piece - with two plates (1, 2) spaced apart in longitudinal direction and connected to the ski, wherein one of the plates (1) comprises guide profiles (5) for slidably arranging one of the ski binding parts in longitudinal direction and locking elements (10a) are present between its guide profiles (5) for longitudinally adjusting and fixing the position of this ski binding part, and wherein the other plate (2) comprises guide profiles (5) for slidably arranging the other ski binding part in longitudinal direction of the ski and locking elements (10a) are again present between its guide profiles (5) for longitudinally adjusting and fixing the position of this ski binding part,
    characterised in that
    the one locking elements (10a) are arranged on one end portion (7a) and the other locking elements (10a) are arranged or provided on the other end portion (7a) of a tape-like connecting element (7) which with its underside and its longitudinal sides is guided or supported in recesses (6) of the two plates (1, 2) and which is anchored centrally in a fixed position on the ski prior to the assembling the ski binding parts.
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the connecting element (7) is attached to one of the plates (1, 2) by means of a screw (8).
  3. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the locking elements (10a) are formed directly on the end portions (7a) of the connecting element (7).
  4. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the locking elements (10a) are formed on platelets (10) inserted in recesses (9) in the end portions (7a) of the connecting element (7).
  5. Device according to one of claims 1, 3 and 4, characterised in that the locking elements (10a) are at least a number of locking recesses or locking elevations.
  6. Ski binding with a device according to at least one of claims 1 to 5.
