Description

The invention relates to an energy self-sufficient electronic system for checking personal authorizations for operating a device.

Authorization verification systems are known in several ways. Thus, systems are known which operate in the manner of transponder systems. If a person with a mobile transponder enters the sphere of activity of a transceiver station communicating with the transponder, this reads out the data content, the identification data, of the transponder and gives access to a locked room in accordance with the authorizations associated with the identification data free.

From the publication US 3,733,861 A a self-powered electronic door lock is known which, by communicating with a passive transponder carried by a user, enables or retains access to a secured area after checking the received coded signals of the transponder. The passive transponder receives its energy from the radio signal, which is sent from the castle, when the user operates, for example, by pressing the door handle an energy converter, which is connected to the electronics of the castle and this supplied with energy.

From the publication DE 94 19 736 U1 An electronic lock is known which can be operated with a variety of mechanical or electronic keys. The Lock is designed to draw the energy it needs for its function from self-sufficient energy sources such as solar cells or electromechanical energy converters. When using electronic keys, these can be designed so that they get their energy from just the lock that is operated with the keys. The energy is transmitted to the electronic keys, for example, with radio signals.

Furthermore, systems are known which, for example, when a fingerprint sensor is touched by a person, check the person's fingerprint and compare with previously known data or fingerprints, and subsequently initiate or prevent further action. Systems are also known which use an iris scanner to check the iris of a person and compare it with previously known data, and then release access to a protected room if necessary.

These systems pose problems. In particular, the aforementioned biometric systems, the problem in itself that the available sensor technology not yet have the desired reliability. So are dirt on fingerprint sensors and of course even with optical or optoelectronic iris readers can not be excluded and inevitably lead to errors.

The abovementioned transponder systems involve their problematics in that the distance between the person carrying the mobile transponder and the reading and transmitting unit has a direct influence on the transmission quality and thus on an error-free functioning of the system. For example, a disturbance by a second person located in this distance range can not be ruled out.

In addition, the aforementioned systems at the fixed station require a wired power supply in order to maintain the radio-based communication with the mobile transponder and also to supply the transponder with the necessary energy.

Along with the wired power supply of the fixed stations of the above-mentioned systems, another disadvantage is associated. Thus, an installation, for example, far from a wired power supply of such a system is not possible or only at considerable expense. The provision of locally unbound areas, such as vehicles, for example, with such systems is only possible if the vehicle is always to be expected with an uninterruptible power supply. Since the power supply is produced in vehicles in the dormant state by electrochemical accumulators, which are subject to a limited life is not always a trouble-free power supply to accept. In addition, such a system withdraws the accumulators even at rest, a significant amount of electrical energy, so that alone by longer rest periods of a vehicle with a failure such a system can be expected. In order to function reliably and permanently in such places, such systems are therefore not or only partially suitable.

It is therefore the object of the invention to propose a system for checking personal authorizations, which is also to operate in places whose supply of electrical energy is not permanently secured, or is to operate in places that offer no supply of electrical energy.

Weise erweitert. This object is achieved by the measures described in claim 1 and these are extended by the measures described in the subordinate claims in Vorteil.Weise.

An energy self-sufficient electronic system for checking personal authorizations for operating a device is proposed, which comprises a first subsystem, a second subsystem and an operating device associated with the device and triggers the examination of the personal authorization when actuated by a person.

The two subsystems communicate bidirectionally, the communication of the two subsystems takes place via electrically excited signals. It is intended to start the communication between the first and the second subsystem only when a person actuates the operating device. Since the operating device is assigned to the device, the authorization of which is to be checked for its operation, the distance of the person to the device is thus already given. It results naturally by the length of the Arms of the person concerned. That is, persons whose distance from the device is further than the arm length, are thus unable to operate the operating device. This advantageously precludes the erroneous triggering of an authorization request and thus also allowing unauthorized persons to obtain authorization, for example by their mere simultaneous presence with an authorized person.

It is advantageous to attach the first subsystem spatially close to the device to be secured and to let the second subsystem be carried as a mobile subsystem of the authorized person. Through the contact of the person with the operating device and the naturally given contact of the person with the mobile, or the second subsystem, there is the advantageous possibility to represent the transmission of the electrically excited signals on the body of the person. This then advantageously takes place in a capacitive manner, so that the form of the transmission can be described as very trouble-free. A radio transmission of the signals is also possible. In a radio transmission, however, further measures, which are not part of this invention, to take to achieve a fail-safe transmission of the signals.

The energy supply of the first subsystem is solved in an advantageous embodiment, for example, by a non-positively and positively connected to the operating device energy converter. Here it makes sense to use energy converters as they are known, for example, from energy self-sufficient wireless switches. These enable an energy-autonomous operation in order at the moment of actuation of the operating device to generate the energy for the first subsystem.

With the generation of the energy for the first subsystem by the operation of the operating device, the first subsystem is supplied with electrical energy and starts its operation. The operation of the first subsystem continues until the generated energy is consumed. With the startup of the first subsystem, this sends a signal to the second subsystem. The second subsystem sends back its identification data as a response signal.

In the first subsystem it is checked whether the identification data transmitted by the second subsystem fulfill predetermined release criteria. For example, in the first subsystem, the identification data is compared with previously known data, and given the permission to operate the device. As energy converters offer at this point electromechanical energy converters as well as pyroelectric or electromagnetic energy converters and magnetostrictive energy converters or a combination of such energy converters. Basically, therefore, all energy converters are able to convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy.

If a force is exerted on the operating device, part of this force acts on the energy converter. The energy converter converts the energy thus introduced into electrical energy, which in turn generates in the first subsystem an electrical signal which is forwarded to the second subsystem. The response signal of the second subsystem then allows, in the case of an authorization and / or coincidence of the identification data with the previously known data to trigger the action associated with the operating device, or execute.

As an operating device, for example, various operating devices are conceivable here. The following are just a few examples are mentioned, which can only represent a small section of the large application area. There is, for example, a door handle to call, which must be moved by force. Next is a push button to call, which includes more advanced functions, or a push-button switch, which is also capable of triggering further actions. Similarly, switches of a computer system and many more. Each operating device, the operation of which allows to divert a part of the energy introduced with the operation and to convert it into electrical energy with a transducer is suitable.

Depending on the design of the operating device, the associated energy converter is more or less large executable. The amount of electrical energy that can be achieved by the energy conversion is thus not always the same and may sometimes be insufficient to complete the entire process mentioned above. In this case, a second energy converter is advantageously connected to the first subsystem and supplies it additionally or alternatively with electrical energy. This second energy converter draws its energy from the ambient energy surrounding the first subsystem. This includes, for example, light or heat which can be converted into electrical energy by solar cells or pyroelectric energy converters and by thermoelectric energy converters.

Excess energy provided by the second energy converter is cacheable to a capacitive or electrochemical energy store and provided for those instances where there is not a sufficient amount of convertible energy in the environment.

The mobile subsystem advantageously has its own energy supply, since an energy supply via an electromagnetic field, as is the case with transponder systems, is not advantageous here. The own power supply of the second subsystem can be formed by capacitive or electrochemical energy storage. In an advantageous manner, the second subsystem has energy converters which convert the ambient energy of the second subsystem into electrical energy. Likewise, an electrochemical or a capacitive energy storage for the intermediate storage of excess energy is also advantageous here. The embodiments for such energy converters and associated memories are correspondingly smaller, so that they have to be accommodated on a mobile subsystem, which is for example arranged directly in a person's clothing bag or on the person.

Since the second subsystem is designed in its spatial form so rather small, is the second subsystem of particular advantage, the energy available is as economical as possible or economical to use. For this purpose, it is advantageous for a period of idle operation to put the second subsystem in a state of least energy consumption and to put this with a so-called wake-up signal, which is emitted by the first subsystem in an operating mode, in the second subsystem sending his identification data causes. The form of sending the information about the person's body is also affected by significantly less energy expenditure than sending comparable information over a same distance via a radio signal.

In order to put the second subsystem from the idle state into the operating state, a wake-up device is provided which is assigned to the second subsystem. The alarm device is activated by an electrically excited signal of the first subsystem. This electrically excited signal is triggered by the operation of the device.

In the operating state, the second subsystem transmits at least one signal with its identification data to the first subsystem. Thus, the carrier of the second subsystem is identifiable with respect to the first subsystem. The first subsystem performs the authorization check by comparing the information with previously known information. If the information is assigned permissions to actuate the device, the first subsystem releases the actuation of the device or triggers a downstream action.

It is advantageous to protect the communication between the two subsystems by means of encryption against unauthorized interference or falsification of the communication.

In the following the invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment with the aid of a figure.

It shows the figure in a schematic representation of an energy self-sufficient electronic system for checking personal rights to operate a device according to the principle of the present invention.

The figure shows a first subsystem 1 and a second subsystem 2. The two subsystems are arranged in spatially separated regions B1 and B2. The first subsystem is arranged in a spatial area B1 that corresponds to the area to be protected. The first subsystem 1 is connected to an operating device 3, which is provided for operating the device 4. The operating device 3 additionally has an energy converter 5, which converts part of the force provided for the operating device into electrical energy.

This electrical energy is forwarded to the first subsystem and puts the first subsystem into operation. The force that is performed for the operation is introduced by a person P who wants to operate the device 4. The person P leads the second subsystem 2 with him. After starting the operation on the first subsystem 1, the first subsystem 1 sends a signal to the second subsystem 2. The second subsystem 2 responds to this signal by transmitting its identification information. Bidirectional communication is thus completed and completed. To increase the transmission security, this bidirectional communication is also repeatable, at least as often, until there is a confirmed freedom from transmission of both subsystems. Transfer processes are already known for these processes, which are not part of this invention.

In the first subsystem 1, the identification information transmitted by the second subsystem 2 is compared with previously known data. By the first subsystem 1, a release of the operation of the device 4. The can be done in different ways. The following list is therefore only as an example and representative of a diverse selection of possibilities. For example, can
  • the release by a mechanical unlocking done so that a bolt unlocks the operating device, for example, a door handle which can then be further operated, or a push button can be further pressed.
  • an electrical transmission of a command, which is deposited with the operating device, carried out and thus the device can be operated.
  • if the operating device is a radio switch, a radio signal is sent only after the release and thus operates the device, for example, a lighting device can be activated.

In the exemplary embodiment, a second energy converter 6 is connected to the first subsystem, which converts the energy located in the environment of the first subsystem into electrical energy. This is, for example, thermal energy to be converted into electrical energy with a thermocouple or a pyroelectric transducer, or it is solar energy to be converted into electrical energy with a solar element, or it is wind energy to be converted with an electromagnetic transducer , or another form of kinetic energy, which is also convertible into electrical energy with an electromagnetic or piezoelectric transducer.

Connected to the second subsystem is a mobile energy converter 7, which is also capable of converting thermal energy, solar energy or kinetic energy present in the environment of the second subsystem into electrical energy. Again, forms of energy such as thermal energy by thermocouples, or pyroelectric transducers, as well as solar or kinetic energy through the already above mentioned transducer systems, convertible into electrical energy. Excess energy, which is converted by the mobile energy converter 7, is advantageously stored in the mobile energy storage which is also assigned to the second subsystem. Thus, even in times when no convertible energy surrounds the second subsystem, ensures that there is always sufficient electrical energy available to transmit a short signal with the identification data after receiving a wake-up signal. For this reason, such or a similar energy storage 9 is arranged on the first subsystem 1.

The second subsystem 2 is associated with a wake-up device 10, which stimulated by a signal of the first subsystem, the second subsystem from a sleep state into an operating state. The idle state is advantageously a state of least energy consumption. This is particularly important in the case of the second subsystem, whose spatial extent is considered to be low. In the aforementioned resting state, only the alarm device 10 is supplied with electrical energy.
Both subsystems are equipped with corresponding means (11) for encryption. This protects the transmission of information from unauthorized interference or alteration or interception. The transmission of the information is to be carried out not only via the capacitive coupling through the body of the person P, but alternatively also via a radio-bound signal 12.

An application example is intended to further illustrate the advantages of the present invention, even at sites of sufficient electrical energy. Thus, for example, an elevator button 3 which allows access to a certain secured area B1 by approaching a floor of a building which is to be accessible only to a particularly authorized group of persons can advantageously be equipped with the system according to the invention described above.

A person who operates the elevator button 3, thus not yet triggers the elevator 4, but solves only by the operation of the elevator button 3, without noticing it, via the energy converter 5, a signal to the first subsystem 1 from. This signal is passed through the body of the person P to the second subsystem 2. The surface of the elevator knob 3 is designed so that a signal transmission to the body of the person P can take place.

If there is no corresponding second subsystem 2 at the person P, then the pressing of the elevator button 3 without further consequences, the elevator 4 does not move. If there is a second subsystem 2 on the person P, this transmits the identification data to the first subsystem 1 after receiving the signal from the first subsystem 1. The first subsystem 1 compares the identification data with previously known data. If the first subsystem 1 determines a coincidence of the data, and also establishes an authorization for access to the floor, or the area 1, the elevator 4 sets in motion. All this happens without the person P thereby experiencing a noticeable time delay in the action requested by them.
