Claims (1)

  1. A stitching apparatus (100) for manufacturing stitching wire staples, in particular annular eyelet staples, for stitching stacked sheet materials, comprising: a stitching head basic body (5), wherein said stitching head basic body (5) having a driver (80) for driving the stitching wire staples into the stacked sheet materials in a downward movement of said driver (80); and a former (60) for shaping the stitching wire staples, in particular annular eyelet staples, wherein said former (60) is pivoted away during the downward movement of said driver (80); and a wire clamping lever (63), wherein said wire clamping lever is mounted pivotably in said former (60), characterized in that said wire clamping lever (63) has a control element in the form of a bolt (65) which runs on a control cam (72, 73, 74, 75), which is formed on a control block (70), wherein said control block (70) is disposed on the bending slide (32), wherein the former (60) is thus supported in the upward movement of said driver (80), with the result that said former (60) is pivoted-in in the upward movement to a different point than the pivoting-out of said former (60) in the downward movement.
