- a method is the subject of claim 10.
- Advantageous developments are specified in the subclaims.
- Beverage or other liquid products are handled or dispensed in larger quantities, e.g. In restaurants, it has proved to be particularly advantageous to handle these products not in bottles or cans but in barrels. In turn, the use of so-called KEG's numerous other advantages.
- KEGs KEGs
- these barrels are hermetically sealed due to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the connections for filling and compressed gas, and thus contents and drum interior are protected from contamination of all kinds, but especially from contact with germs.
- the connections are combined in so-called fittings or fittings.
- KEGs are industrially handled, refilled and refilled in the bottling plants, in particular in the large factories of the beverage industry.
- the KEGs are placed in an empty state at a feed station of the system and pass through the cleaning and / or filling stations before they are removed at the other end of the system in a cleaned and filled state and transported to the customers.
- the KEGs In treatment plants for KEGs, it is usual for the KEGs to be moved upside down, ie downwards through the installation with the so-called fitting, and in this orientation they are also exposed to the various treatment media or to the filling material and compressed gas.
- the production of a connection between KEG and media line is as follows: By a suitable transport device, the KEG 13 is fed to a treatment station. In practice, for example, the so-called mit step method is used.
- the KEG 13 is oriented such that the fitting 14 is directed downwards.
- the KEG 13 is located approximately vertically and / or centrally above a treatment position, the KEG 13 is lowered from an elevated transport position to a lower treatment position, wherein it enters into operative connection with a stationary centering 15 and thereby centered to a plunger 16 and / or is aligned.
- a pressing element 17 is activated, whereupon this applies to the bottom of the KEG's, supports the lowering and centering and then builds up the required contact pressure for the subsequent treatment of the KEGs 13.
- the treatment of the KEG 13 takes place, which may be a cleaning or filling process depending on the treatment station.
- the compounds For each of these treatment operations, it is necessary to connect the media lines with the KEG or its interior, the compounds should be as tight and hygienic, but also fast and gentle to the material. These requirements are satisfactorily met by the KEG fittings commonly used in practice.
- a treatment head is provided at the treatment station, which in addition to the centering 15 and the plunger 16 also sealing elements and the supply and / or discharge for treatment media, filling material or compressed gas to or from the treatment head.
- the plunger 16 is spent by suitable actuating means from a first, low non-engagement position in a second, higher engagement position. During this movement, the plunger 16 opens the closures or valves provided on the KEG fitting and forms a sealing connection with the corresponding contact surfaces, so that treatment media or contents can be fed in or out of the KEG in the desired manner.
- the plunger moves into the non-engaged position, the closures of the KEG fitting are closed by spring force, the contents of the KEG's are hermetically sealed.
- the object and purpose of the present invention is to provide a treatment station for the treatment of KEGs which makes the conversion measures necessary for the treatment of KEGs with different fittings superfluous.
- a treatment head is presented, which allows the processing of different fittings, without the need for conversion measures would be required.
- the flat fitting 19 shown in FIG. 2 essentially has a plate-shaped or disc-shaped form, wherein it contains a movable, annular valve 20.
- This valve 20 is actuated by a hollow bucket tappet 21, which forms a sealing connection with the valve 20 and at the same time produces the media connections to the filling tube 22 and KEG interior 23.
- the procedure is clearly shown in Figure 2, wherein the left half of Figure 2 represents a closed and the right half of an open state.
- the basket fitting 25 shown in FIG. 3 has the shape of a plurality of circular rings arranged within a cylinder, a circular closing element being located in the middle of these circular rings.
- Korbfitting 25 form the circular end member and the innermost annulus, the movable valve elements. These elements are lifted and actuated by a step tappet 26, whereby the connections to the KEG interior 23 are made.
- a treatment head 18 has both an element for actuating flat fittings 19, for example a bucket tappet 21, and an element for actuating basket fittings 25, for example a step tappet 26.
- Both bucket tappet 21 and step tappet 26 are formed substantially rotationally symmetrical, wherein both have a media line 27 in their interior.
- the step tappet 26 is disposed within the bucket tappet 21.
- both elements are independently displaceable, so that they can perform a lifting movement to the opening of the respective fitting type unaffected by the other element. It is also provided to perform these strokes by their own drives.
- FIG. 4 illustrates by way of example a situation in which a flat fitting 19 is assigned to the treatment head 18.
- both bucket tappets 21 and step tappets 26 are in a disengaged position.
- the bucket tappet 21 is raised whereas the tappet 26 remains in the disengaged position.
- the upper edge of the bucket tappet 21 actuates the annular valve 20 of the flat fitting and thus releases the media connections to or from the KEG.
- the bucket tappet 21 moves back into the disengaged position, whereby the plate-shaped valve 20 is closed again.
- the treatment phase is initiated by bringing the step plunger 26 out of the disengaged position into the engaged position, leaving the cup plunger 21 in the disengaged position.
- the valve elements are opened analogously to the illustrations in FIG. 3 and, after completion of the treatment phase, closed again.
- the treatment head 18 and / or the treatment station with a detection module which is capable of automatically detecting the KEG and / or fitting type of the KEG currently being treated for treatment and subsequent treatment of the KEG to activate the corresponding plunger.
- such a module can be, for example, a transponder reading unit with a downstream evaluation and activation device.
- module types such as e.g. mechanically or optically operating sensors or even camera systems with downstream computer-assisted image processing possible.
- This procedure makes it possible for the first time to process KEGs with different fitting types in a mixed and unordered sequence within a filling installation, which results in particular advantages in terms of flexibility and economy of the filling installations.
- step plunger 26 and cup plunger 21 are arranged in such a way that the step plunger 26 protrudes beyond the upper edge of the cup plunger 26.
- the step tappet 26 is e.g. held by spring force relative to the bucket tappet 21 in this elevated position, wherein the spring is supported for example on or in the bucket tappet.
- step plunger 26 After a certain distance, the step plunger 26 abuts against the non-movable middle part of the fitting, and thus can not continue its upward movement. By contrast, the bucket tappet 26 moves further upwards and opens the annular valve 20. This highly advantageous procedure eliminates the need for a separate drive for the tappet ram and the detection module, without the mixed processing of different types of fitting being prevented.
- FIG. 5 shows a centering element which consists of two elements having a prismatic receptacle, wherein these elements can be moved in a controlled manner towards each other, whereby these elements can center fitting types with different (external) dimensions.

The present invention relates to a treatment station for treating KEGs according to the preamble of claim 1. A method is the subject of claim 10. Advantageous developments are specified in the subclaims.
Beverage or other liquid products are handled or dispensed in larger quantities, e.g. In restaurants, it has proved to be particularly advantageous to handle these products not in bottles or cans but in barrels. In turn, the use of so-called KEG's numerous other advantages.
A major advantage of the use of KEGs is that these barrels are hermetically sealed due to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the connections for filling and compressed gas, and thus contents and drum interior are protected from contamination of all kinds, but especially from contact with germs. The connections are combined in so-called fittings or fittings.
As a rule, KEGs are industrially handled, refilled and refilled in the bottling plants, in particular in the large factories of the beverage industry.
For this purpose, fully automatic cleaning and filling plants are used, in which the KEG's on a single machine with only one treatment station, or on a large machine with a plurality of treatment stations, e.g. 24-36.
The KEGs are placed in an empty state at a feed station of the system and pass through the cleaning and / or filling stations before they are removed at the other end of the system in a cleaned and filled state and transported to the customers.
In treatment plants for KEGs, it is usual for the KEGs to be moved upside down, ie downwards through the installation with the so-called fitting, and in this orientation they are also exposed to the various treatment media or to the filling material and compressed gas. The necessary connections between the interior of the KEG and the media or their supply or discharge lines produced by means of the KEG fitting. The production of a connection between KEG and media line is as follows: By a suitable transport device, the KEG 13 is fed to a treatment station. In practice, for example, the so-called pilgrim step method is used.
During transport, the KEG 13 is oriented such that the
For each of these treatment operations, it is necessary to connect the media lines with the KEG or its interior, the compounds should be as tight and hygienic, but also fast and gentle to the material. These requirements are satisfactorily met by the KEG fittings commonly used in practice.
In order to establish the connection of the media lines with the KEG, a treatment head is provided at the treatment station, which in addition to the centering 15 and the
Now, if the KEG by means of the
When the treatment or filling phase is completed, the plunger moves into the non-engaged position, the closures of the KEG fitting are closed by spring force, the contents of the KEG's are hermetically sealed.
In practice, partly due to technical reasons, partly because of the desired incompatibility, numerous KEG fittings have been found which differ in their geometric dimensions such that each individual variety of KEG fittings for their processing at least
It should also be noted that in the beverage industry high demands are placed on the cleanliness and safety of the cleaning and filling process, which cleaning and / or disinfection measures may be required after conversion measures, which even further the time required and thus the cost of such renovations increase.
This is felt to be particularly disadvantageous in practice.
The object and purpose of the present invention is to provide a treatment station for the treatment of KEGs which makes the conversion measures necessary for the treatment of KEGs with different fittings superfluous. For this purpose, a treatment head is presented, which allows the processing of different fittings, without the need for conversion measures would be required.

Further developments, advantages and applications of the invention will become apparent from the following description of exemplary embodiments and the drawings. All described and / or illustrated features alone or in any combination form the subject matter of the invention, regardless of their combination in the claims or their dependency. At the same time, the content of the claims is made part of the description.
In practice, u.a. two types of fittings acquired considerable importance. These are the so-called flat and basket fittings.
The
The
According to the invention, it is now provided to design the treatment head in such a way that both KEGs with fittings in the manner of the described flat fittings and KEGs with fittings in the manner of the described basket fittings are opened and can be treated in the desired manner. For this purpose, a
As shown in the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, a
In a further, highly advantageous development of the present invention, it is provided to equip the
Since numerous KEGs are equipped with so-called RFID transponders, which among other things also have stored the fitting type directly or indirectly as computer-readable information, such a module can be, for example, a transponder reading unit with a downstream evaluation and activation device.
Also, other module types such as e.g. mechanically or optically operating sensors or even camera systems with downstream computer-assisted image processing possible. This procedure makes it possible for the first time to process KEGs with different fitting types in a mixed and unordered sequence within a filling installation, which results in particular advantages in terms of flexibility and economy of the filling installations.
Within the scope of a further embodiment, as shown in FIG. 5,
In a further independent embodiment of the present invention, it is proposed to replace the known
By way of example, FIG. 5 shows a centering element which consists of two elements having a prismatic receptacle, wherein these elements can be moved in a controlled manner towards each other, whereby these elements can center fitting types with different (external) dimensions.
