Die Figuren 1 a und 1 b zeigen eine Geschirrspülmaschine 1, bei der zur besseren Darstellung des Schließmechanismus der Deckel, die Bedienblende und das Türaußenblech entfernt wurden. Die Geschirrspülmaschine 1 besitzt einen Spülbehälter 2, an dem eine Tür 3 schwenkbar zum Verschließen des Spülbehälters 2 angeordnet ist. Zur Verhinderung des Austritts von Spülflüssigkeit (nicht dargestellt) aus dem Spülbehälter 2 ist dieser mit einer umlaufenden Dichtung 20 versehen. Um die Tür in der geschlossenen Stellung zu halten, ist an der Tür ein gabelförmiges Verriegelungselement 4 angeordnet, welches in bekannter Weise drehbar gelagert ist und in seiner Verriegelungsstellung in einen auf dem Spülbehälter 2 angeordneten Schließkloben 5 eingreift. Zum Öffnen der Tür wird ein Griff 6 nach oben gedrückt und dabei das Verriegelungselement 4 über einen nicht dargestellten Mechanismus in eine Stellung gedreht, in der es nicht mehr vom Schließkloben 5 gehalten wird. Das Verriegelungselement 4 wirkt mit einem Schalter 21 zusammen, über den die gestrichelt angedeutete Gerätesteuerung 22 die Betätigung der Verriegelungseinrichtung 4 zum Öffnen und/oder Schließen sensiert und hierdurch sowohl den geöffneten Zustand als auch den geschlossenen Zustand erkennt. Um nun die Tür 3 ohne Betätigung des Griffs 6 programmgesteuert spaltweise öffnen zu können, ist der Schließkloben 5 an einer Schließplatte 7 befestigt, welche ca. zehn Zentimeter linear in Öffnungsrichtung der Tür 3 motorisch verfahrbar ist. Die Zahnstange 8 ist dabei in einem Führungskanal 9 oberhalb des Spülbehälters 2 angeordnet, wobei der Führungskanal 9 leicht geneigt auf der oberen Seitenwand 10 des Spülbehälters 2 befestigt ist. Im Führungskanal 9 ist eine Öffnung 11 für ein Ritzel 12 vorgesehen. Sie bildet auch den Bereich, in dem das Ritzel 12 mit der Zahnstange 8 kämmt. Das Ritzel 12 wird von einem Rohrmotor 13, eventuell unter Zwischenschaltung eines integrierten Getriebes (nicht dargestellt) gedreht. Dabei sind neben dem Führungskanal Positionsschalter 14 und 15 (s. Figur 1a, 1b) angeordnet, die der Gerätesteuerung 22 das Erreichen von bestimmten Positionen der Zahnstange 8 anzeigen. Alternativ sind auch Linear- oder Drehpotentiometer oder optische Sensoren zur exakten Lageerfassung der Zahnstange 8 denkbar. Über den hinteren Positionsschalter 14 wird das Schließen der Tür 3 sensiert. Der vordere Positionsschalter 15 wirkt mit zwei beabstandeten Nocken (nicht dargestellt) an der Zahnstange 8 zusammen, so dass diese von der Gerätesteuerung 22 über den Rohrmotor 13 in zwei verschiedene Öffnungspositionen gefahren werden kann, wie in den Figuren 3a und 3b gezeigt ist. Dabei ist die erste Öffnungsposition (Figur 3a) durch eine geringe Spaltbreite s1 von ca. einem Zentimeter gekennzeichnet und so bemessen, dass sie der Stärke der Dichtung 20 entspricht oder diese geringfügig übersteigt. Die zweite Öffnungsposition (Figur 3b) ist durch eine große Spaltbreite s2 von ca. zehn Zentimetern gekennzeichnet und demzufolge so bemessen, dass die um diese Breite geöffnete Tür 3 mit ihrer oberen Innenkante unter einer auf der Geschirrspülmaschine befindlichen Abdeckung 23 oder Arbeitsplatte herausragt. Das Öffnen der Verriegelungseinrichtung 4 - sowohl aus der um den Spalt s2 geöffneten Position der Tür 3 nach Programmende als auch aus der geschlossenen Position während des laufenden Programms oder nach einem Programm, welches keine Trocknungsunterstützung benötigt - wird von der Gerätesteuerung 22 durch das Öffnen des Schalters 21 erkannt. Sobald die Tür 3 entriegelt ist, fährt die Gerätesteuerung 22 die Schließplatte 7 mittels des Motors 13 in die erste Öffnungsposition (Figur 3d). Wird die Tür 3 wieder verriegelt, bleibt sie solange um den Spalt s1 geöffnet (Figur 3a), bis die Verriegelungseinrichtung 4 in den Schließkloben 5 eingreift und der Schalter 21 geschlossen ist. Dadurch kommt die Tür 3 noch nicht in Kontakt mit der Dichtung 20 und es muss vom Benutzer kein Kraftaufwand erbracht werden, um diese zusammen zu pressen.   2. Dishwasher (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the slight gap width (s1) is measured in such a manner that it corresponds to the density of the seal (20) or slightly exceeds the density of the seal.
  3. Dishwasher (1) according to claim 2, characterised in that the slight gap width (s1) is approximately one centimetre.
  4. Dishwasher (1) according to at least one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the large gap width (s2) is measured in such a manner that the door (3) opened by the said width extends with its upper inside edge under a cover (23) or operating plate located on the dishwasher (1).
  5. Dishwasher (1) according to claim 4, characterised in that the large gap width (s2) is approximately ten centimetres.
  6. Method for accomplishing a wash program according to claim 6, characterised in that the closure plate (7) is moved into the second opening position in dependence on a value determined in a sensory manner, the said value correlating with the degree of drying of the washed items in the washing container (2) at the end of the program.
  9. Method for accomplishing a wash program according to at least one of claims 6 to 8, characterised in that the appliance control (22), once the locking device (4) has been closed, moves the closure plate (7) by means of the motor (13) into the closed position, in which the door (3) closes the washing container (2) with a seal (20) being placed in between.
  10. Method for accomplishing a wash program in a dishwasher (1) according to one of claims 1 to 5, more especially a method according to one of claims 6 to 9, characterised in that the appliance control (22), once it has recognised an appliance error or an operator error, moves the closure plate (7) by means of the motor (13) into the second opening position.
  11. Method for accomplishing a wash program according to claim 10, characterised in that the appliance control (22) recognises the elimination of the appliance error or of the operator error and subsequently moves the closure plate (7) by means of the motor (13), with the locking device (4) open, into the first opening position or, with the locking device (4) closed, into the closed position.
  12. Method for accomplishing a wash program according to at least one of the claims 6 to 11, characterised in that the appliance control (22) switches off the motor (13) by means of sensors for precise position detection (14, 15) that are associated with the opening positions and the closed position.
