Darüber hinaus gibt es auch insbesondere im Illustrationsdruck derartige Offset-Rollenrotationsdruckmaschinen, die mit herkömmlichen Gummitüchern arbeiten, d.h. die Gummituchzylinder weisen axiale Spannkanäle auf, in denen die Enden der auf die Gummizylinder aufzuspannenden Drucktücher fixierbar sind. Offset-Rollenrotationsdruckmaschinen mit axialen Spannkanälen in den Gummituchzylindern erzeugen aufgrund der relativ großen Breite der Gummizylinder-Gruben Schwingungen, die die Qualität des Druckes ungünstig beeinflussen. Insbesondere mit zunehmender Länge der Zylinder, d.h. mit zunehmender Breite der Druckmaschine, werden diese Schwingungen größer, da sich auch zunehmend die fehlende Steifigkeit eines einfach großen Gummizylinders nachteilig bemerkbar macht.
