Damit lässt sich erreichen, daß abweichend von der jahrzehntelangen Praxis die Eisenbahnschwelle bei der Montage oder dergleichen nicht mehr durch Unterhaken transportiert werden muß, sondern durch Einhaken des Transportmittels, wie eine gängige Schwellentragzange, in die Eingreiföffnungen, die sich entfernt vom Boden bzw. Schotter vorsehen lassen, vorzugsweise beidseitig, einander gegenüberliegend in den Seitenwandungen der Eisenbahnschwelle.This object is achieved in that the railway sleeper is formed with means of transport engaging. Eine im Ausführungsbeispiel dargestellte Eisenbahnschwelle 1 in Form einer Hohlschwelle besitzt einen sich von oben nach unten, d.h. zum Boden hin verjüngenden Querschnitt (vgl. Fig. 4) und somit eine größere Breite ihrer Oberseite 2 als die der Unterseite 3. Auf den Oberseiten der in der Regel in einem Schotterbett verlegten Eisenbahnschwellen 1 werden Schienen 5a, 5b (vgl. Fig. 1) mittels Befestigungseinrichtungen 4 (vgl. die Fig. 2 und 3) verankert. Im Innenraum der Eisenbahnschwelle 1 sind hier Kabelführungen 6 angeordnet.A
Zur Handhabung und zum Transport der Eisenbahnschwelle 1 bei der Montage sind an jeder ihrer Seitenwandungen 7a, 7b im schwellenendnahen Bereich einander gegenüberliegend zwei Transportmittel-Eingreiföffnungen 8a, 8b bzw. 9a, 9b ausgebildet. Diese sind im Ausführungsbeispiel nach Fig. 5 als Längsschlitze ausgeführt, die sich von der Oberseite 2 der Einsenbahnschwelle 1 her im oberen Drittel der Seitenwandungen 7a, 7b nach unten erstrecken.For handling and transport of the
