Description
Moreover, it is common in the art to provide on the roof of high buildings winches, by means of which working gondolas for window cleaners on the outside of the building can be moved up and down. The cleaning of the window outer surfaces is thus labor-intensive and also dangerous for the window cleaner, who have to do their cleaning work in the work gondolas.
- einer Traverse, die an zwei gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Fensters durch erste Führungen in im Wesentlichen konstanten Abstand von einer zu putzenden Fensterscheibe geführt und längs den Führungen in entgegengesetzten Richtungen über die Fensterscheibe beweglich ist;

With this window cleaning device eliminates the dangerous and expensive window cleaning on the Outside of the buildings. The outside of the windows are cleaned by machine and labor costs are saved.
The truss can be horizontally oriented and movable up and down while being guided along the vertical window sides. However, the traverse can also be vertical and be horizontally reciprocable and thereby guided along the upper and lower sides of the window in the horizontal direction.
In a horizontal crosshead version, it is suspended by two cables at a shaft rotatably mounted at the top of the window, which is driven by an electric motor for winding the cables onto the shaft and, accordingly, for upward movement of the crossbar. The downward movement of the Traverse takes place by their gravity. In the other embodiment, the perpendicular traverse is reciprocated in the horizontal direction and is driven by a motor in both directions. The drive is preferably via a belt drive or a chain drive. At each end of the traverse a drive chain or a drive belt may be provided. In both cases, the drive can also be done manually via a hand crank. A rack and pinion drive may also be provided, with a stationary rack and a gear motor mounted to the crosshead with a pinion meshing with the rack. Such a rack drive can be provided on each side of the window.
This cleaning device can be used not only in vertical windows but also in horizontal or oblique windows when the drive via a belt, chain, or rack means.
Die vorstehend beschriebene Putzvorrichtung eignet sich hauptsächlich für grossflächige Fenster oder Fenster mit grosser Länge. Für kleine Fenster schafft die vorliegende Erfindung eine Fensterputzvorrichtung mit einer Traverse, die an zwei gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Fensters durch stationäre Führungen geführt und längs den Führungen in entgegengesetzten Richtungen beweglich ist, wobei die Führungen die Traverse in einem im Wesentlichen konstanten Abstand von einer zu putzenden Fensterscheibe halten;
- einem schwenkbar auf der Traverse befestigten Tragelement für ein Abstreichelement;
- a pivotally mounted on the cross member supporting element for a doctoring element;
- a scraper member mounted to the support member, the support member being pivotable with respect to the cross member between a first position in which the scraper member is pressed against and against the windowpane and a second position in which the scraper member is out of contact with the windowpane is, and wherein the support member is biased by spring force in the second position; and with
- a retaining mechanism having at least one pawl arranged on the crosspiece, which is biased by spring force into a blocking position, wherein the support member for movement of the traverse in a first direction by a first stop means from the second position against the spring force in the first position is to snap into the pawl to lock the support member in the first position, and to actuate the pawl for movement of the cross member in a second opposite direction by a second stop means against the spring bias to release the support member is thus this through the Spring force is movable back to its second position.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the cleaning device may be provided at the lower end of a roller shutter. The windowpane is then cleaned each time the roller shutter is lowered. The roller shutter is driven as usual by hand or via a roller shutter motor. To guide the Traverse serve in this case the usual roller shutter guides, which prevent a pushing away of the traverse of the window pane when the support element is pressed into the first position.
When lowering the shutter, the pawl holds the support member for the doctor in the first position (operating or cleaning position) in which the doctor is in contact with the window. When the roller shutter is fully lowered, the pawl is actuated at the lower end point of movement to release the scraper member so that the biasing spring can pivot the support member to the second position (rest position) in which the scraper is out of contact with the windowpane. Upon reaching the upper end of the movement, the support member is depressed against the spring bias again for locking by the pawl in the operating or cleaning position (first position). The pawl may be pivotally mounted on the cross member and extend through a recess of the crossmember or be arranged on the outside of the crossmember and grip in a clamp over and under the traverse.
The cleaning device according to the invention may also be independent of a roller shutter and the traverse can be moved as in the unclaimed solution of the object of the invention via a winch or a belt, chain or rack means manually or by motor between its end positions. When using a belt, chain or rack device, the traverse can also be perpendicular and moved back and forth in the horizontal direction.
Gemäss der Erfindung ist das Tragelement für das Abstreichelement auf der Traverse schwenkbar zwischen der ersten und der zweiten Stellung, in welcher das Abstreichelement mit der Fensterscheibe in Berührung bzw. ausser Berührung mit derselben ist, während bei der nicht beanspruchten Lösung der Aufgabe der Erfindung das Tragelement für das Abstreichelement auf der Traverse verschiebbar ist zum Andrücken des Abstreichelementes an die Fensterscheibe bzw. zum Wegziehen von der FensterscheibeAccording to the invention, the support element for the doctoring element on the crossbar is pivotable between the first and the second position, in which the doctor blade is in contact with or out of contact with the window, while in the unclaimed solution of the object of the invention Support element for the doctoring element on the crossbar is displaceable for pressing the Abstreichelementes to the window pane or to pull away from the window pane
In both solution forms, a spray pipe with spray nozzles for a cleaning liquid can be provided on the window cleaning device.
Still further advantageous features of the window cleaning device are characterized in subclaims.

It is thus to be understood that during a cycle, the
It should also be mentioned that the
In this window cleaning device, the traverse is arranged horizontally and movable up and down while running in the vertical rail means on both vertical sides of the window. However, as mentioned above, the traverse can also stand vertically and horizontally reciprocate while running in horizontal rails, which are arranged along the upper and the lower side of the window. In this case, the traverse must be driven by a motor in both directions, this can be done as mentioned via chain or belt drives or rack drives.

- When the
shutter 202 is pulled up, thesupport member 214 with thedoctor member 216 is in the swung-up position shown in phantom, and thedoctor member 216 is not in contact with the window glass F. When theshutter 202 is wound or pulled up, press upon reaching the upper end position near the upper end point of the bar movement (at the upper end of the window) provided upper, fixed stop means, in theFIG. 11 Shown schematically at 226, thesupport member 214 from the knitting point shown position down in the inFIG. 11 horizontal position shown by solid lines. By guiding thebeam 206 in the roller shutter guides, thebeam 206 can not be pushed away from the window and a contact pressure of the doctor blade with the window pane is achieved and maintained. In the horizontal position, thesupport member 214 snaps into the notch 222-2 of thepawl 222 and is thus locked in this position by the spring-biasedpawl 222 with the rubber strip 216-2 of thedoctor member 216 in contact with the windowpane. The notch 222-2 of thepawl 222 is located in a portion of thepawl 222 which projects above the upper surface 206-1 of thebeam 206 upwards. When lowering or unwinding the roller shutter is accordingly the Window pane cleaned by theAbstreichelement 216. Upon reaching the lower limit position, an end of thepawl 122 projecting on the lower surface 206-2 of thebeam 206 moves against a stationary stationary stop means 228 provided near the lower end point of the beam movement (at the lower end of the window), whereby thepawl 222 is pivoted counterclockwise against thespring bias 224 and thereby thesupport member 214 releases, which in turn is pivoted by thespring 220 in the position shown in phantom to lift theAbstreichelement 216 again from the window. For eachpawl 222, alower stop 228 is provided. - As the
FIG. 12 2, aspray tube 230 withspray nozzles 232 is provided on thebeam 206. Thespray tube 230 is connected via ahose 234 to a cleaningfluid source 236, which has an electrically operatedfeed pump 238 for supplying thespray tube 230 with cleaning liquid (eg water). - The embodiment of the invention according to the
Figures 11 and12 is shown only schematically in these figures and many changes can be made by those skilled in the art. For example, two spaced apart stop means 226 may be provided on the upper side of the window. Instead of thespring 224, other spring means may be used to bias thepawl 222, eg, the biasing spring may be provided inside thebeam 206. The lower stops 128 may also project upwardly on the lower side of the window and penetrate into recesses of thebeam 206 upon actuation of thepawls 222 upon reaching the lower limit position. In this case, thepawls 222 need not protrude down on the lower side of the beam. - The
cleaning device 200 is, as already mentioned in the introduction, not on the up and down movement by means of aroller shutter 202 restricted but this can be used a cable pulling device as inFIG. 1 shown or the actuation can take place via a chain or belt device, as inFIG. 10 shown. In this case, thecleaning device 200 can also be moved horizontally back and forth withupright bar 206. A rack and pinion drive of thebar 206 is also possible. Thebeam 206 may also slide again at its two ends in guides (not shown) or be guided therein by means of rollers (not shown). These guides can be made similar to the usual roller shutter guides. In addition, as in the embodiment of theFigures 11 and12 above thebeam 206, a stop attached to the beam which, like theend piece 210, limits the upward pivotal movement of thesupport element 214. - The
FIG. 13 shows a second embodiment of the invention with a modifiedpawl 322. In this embodiment, again on the upper side of the beam or thecrossbar 206, asupport member 214 is pivotally mounted. Thesupport member 214 carries aAbstreichelement 216 and is as in the embodiment according to theFigures 11 and12 biased by aspring 220 in the second position in which theAbstreichelement 216 is not in contact with a window to be cleaned (not shown). The pivotal mounting of thesupport member 214 is again on the upper beam surface 206-1 in the vicinity of the vertical surface or side 206-3, which faces away from the window pane to be cleaned, and may also be referred to as the outer beam surface, as opposed to the inner surface or page 206-4 of thebeam 206, which is indicative of the window pane to be cleaned and may be referred to as the inner surface or side of thebeam 206. - The
pawl 322 does not extend through an extension of thebeam 206, as in the embodiment of theFigures 11 and12 but is claw-shaped outside disposed about thebeam 206 around and consists of a substantially L-shaped lever 322-1 to which a locking lug 322-2 attached, for example, is firmly welded. The lever 322-1 and the locking nose 322-2 may also consist of a single piece. The lever 322-1 has a substantially C-shape with an approximately vertical central portion orweb 324 which extends along the beam outer side 206-3, an obliquely downwardly inclinedlower arm 326, which is located below thebeam 206 and a shorterupper arm 328 which engages over thesupport element 214 and to which the locking lug 322-2 is attached. The lever 322-1 is pivotally mounted at about the junction between thevertical web 324 and thelower arm 326 at 330 on thebeam 206, approximately at the edge between the outside 206-3 and the lower surface of the beam 206-2. The obliquely downward inclinedlower arm 326 is longer than theupper arm 328 and abiasing spring 332 is located between the free end of thelower arm 326 and thebeam 206. One end of the biasingspring 332 surrounds an upwardly directedlug 334 of thelever arm 326 during the other end of the biasingspring 322 is received in arecess 336 of the beam. The locking lug 322-2 has a curved shape and extends from the end of theupper lever arm 328 through a slot 214-1 in thesupport member 214 and through a slot 206-5 in the interior of thebeam 206. The locking lug 322-2 has an outer Sperrnasenfläche 322-2.1 and at its lower end a cutout 322-2.2 to form a downwardly facing projection 322-2.3. At the end of the upward movement of the beam at the upper end of the window, thesupport member 214 is pushed with theAbstreichelement 216 by the upper stop, as previously described, down. In this case, thesupport member 214 comes into contact with the locking nose surface 322-2.1 and pushes thepawl 322 counterclockwise against the biasing force of thespring 332. When thesupport member 214 moves beyond the lower end of the locking nose surface 322-2.1, thespring 332, thepawl 222 again push back clockwise and the Projection 322-2.3 comes into contact with the upper surface of thesupport member 216 and holds it back in the first position (operating position). This position is inFIG. 13 shown with solid lines. At the end of the downward movement of thebeam 206, thelower lever arm 326 abuts against the lower stop (not shown). As a result, thepawl 322 is pivoted counterclockwise. The locking lug 322-2 releases thesupport element 214 again and the biasingspring 220 of thesupport element 214 pushes thesupport element 214 upwards into the second position or rest position. This position is inFIG. 13 shown with broken lines. Thepawl 322 also serves as a stop for limiting the movement of thesupport member 214 in the rest position, as inFIG. 13 is shown. The upper surface of a sill (sill) in this embodiment may serve as a bottom stop for pivoting theratchet 322 into the release position. If there is no sill or window sill, the bottom stop may also consist of a projection of the window frame or be made in any other suitable manner. The 226, 228 are not provided on the cleaning device itself, ie thestops bar 206, but are, for example, on the window frame or in the vicinity thereof, for example on a building wall. With a relatively small length of thebeam 206, asingle pawl 322 may be sufficient at about the middle of the beam length. - Inside the
bar 206 may be provided a reservoir for the cleaning liquid. Also in all other embodiments, a reservoir for the cleaning liquid inside thebeam 206 or the traverse can be arranged. The reservoir serves as a ballast for thetraverse 16 or thebeam 206 and supports the downward movement by pivotal force effect. Another ballast weight may also be provided on or preferably in the beam. - The window cleaning device can thus be adapted to all window sizes and arrangements. The window cleaning device is not limited to the above-described embodiments, but many modifications may be made by those skilled in the art as needed without departing from the scope of the following claims.
