Claims (15)

  1. A dispatching box (10) for a cable reel (12) including a case (20) for surrounding said reel and a device for unwinding the cable wound on the reel, which is provided with an axial recess (36) crossed by a shaft (34), said device comprising two supports (40, 42, 68) each provided with a bearing (40, 64) and firmly attached to two side and opposite inner walls (22, 24) of said case (20), characterized in that said box may assume two positions: a transport position for which the shaft (34) of the reel (12) is not supported by said bearings (44, 64) and a position for unwinding the cable (48) for which the shaft (34) of the reel is supported by said bearings (44, 64) thereby allowing the reel (12) to rotate about said shaft.
  2. The dispatching box according to claim 1, characterized in that said position for unwinding the cable is obtained from the transport position by tilting the dispatching box.
  3. The dispatching box according to claim 2, characterized in that said position for unwinding the cable is obtained by turning said box upside down.
  4. The dispatching box according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said case (20) is of a rectangular or square parallelepipedal shape, said supports (40, 42, 68) being applied on two parallel and opposite inner walls (22, 24).
  5. The dispatching box according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said bearings (44, 64) substantially have a fork shape, both ends of said shaft being placed facing the open portion of the fork when the dispatching box is in the transport position on the one hand and pressing against the bottom of the fork when the dispatching box is in the position for unwinding the cable on the other hand.
  6. The dispatching box according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said supports (68) of the bearings are made from folded cartons so as to form said bearings (64) and side reinforcements of said inner side walls (22, 24) of said box.
  7. The dispatching box according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it includes a dispatching floor (14) on which said reel rests when the reel is in the transport position.
  8. The dispatching box according to claim 7, characterized in that said dispatching floor consists of a transport pallet.
  9. The dispatching box according to any of claims 7 and 8, characterized in that it includes means fro attaching said reel to said floor when the box is in the transport position.
  10. The dispatching box according to any of claims 7, 8 and 9, characterized in that the sectional shape of said case (20) along a cut substantially parallel to the ground, corresponds to the shape of said dispatching floor (14), said case being attached to said floor.
  11. The dispatching box according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said case is in cardboard.
  12. The dispatching box according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least one wall (28) of said case includes a window (32) through which the cable may pass in order to be unwound.
  13. A method for dispatching and unwinding a cable (48) wound on a reel (12) provided with an axial recess (36) and held on a dispatching floor (14), said reel and said floor being placed inside a box (10) consisting of a case (20) and of a device for unwinding the cable, a method according to which:
    - a shaft (34) is placed in said recess (36), both ends of said shaft slightly jutting out on the outside of said recess;
    - two supports (40, 42, 68) each provided with a bearing (44, 64) are attached inside said case;
    - said box (10) is brought above said reel (12) and is moved downwards so as to surround said reel and said dispatching floor (14) and to position both ends of said shaft (34) facing said bearings (44, 68) during the transport of said reel in said box; and said method being characterized in that
    - in order to allow the cable (48) to be totally or partially unwound, said box (10) is tilted until both ends of said shaft are supported by said bearings and said reel is detached from said floor.
  14. The method according to claim 13, characterized in that said box is turned upside down so as to allow the cable to be totally or partially unwound.
  15. The method according to any of claims 13 and 14, characterized in that said reel is held to said floor by means of strapping.
