Claims (11)

  1. Instrument for measuring intervals of time including a chronograph mechanism (4) that is arranged so as it is at least possible to start it, to stop it and to reset it to zero, said instrument (1) further including a ringing mechanism (6) characterised in that said ringing mechanism is arranged to emit an acoustic signal at least when the chronograph mechanism (4) is started, the chronograph mechanism (4) being linked cinematically to the ringing mechanism (6) via a release lever (34) when the chronograph mechanism is started.
  2. Instrument according to claim 1, characterized in that the chronograph mechanism includes a column wheel (10) associated with a control element (48) which has teeth (50) the number of which is equal to or two times greater than the number of columns (16) of the column wheel (10) and which activates the ringing mechanism (6) at least when the chronograph mechanism (4) is started.
  3. Instrument according to claim 2, characterized in that the teeth (50) are made in one piece with the columns (16).
  4. Instrument according to claim 2, characterized in that the control element (48) includes a ring on whose surface the teeth (50) stand and which is fixed to the columns (16).
  5. Instrument according to any of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the control element (48) is arranged to act on the ringing mechanism (6) via the release lever (34) that is capable of pivoting and which has two diametrically opposite radial arms (36a, 36b).
  6. Instrument according to claim 5, characterized in that the control element (48) is arranged to control the pivoting of the release lever (34) by acting on the arm (36a) of said lever (34), said lever (34) moving, via one of its teeth (22), a strike hammer (22) away from its rest position against the return force of an activating spring (30).
  7. Instrument according to claim 6, arranged so as, gradually as the release lever (34) pivots, the arm thereof (36a) slides along the tooth (50) with which it is meshed until the moment when said arm (36a) escapes from said tooth (50), the activating spring (30) then being let down and driving the hammer (22) against a gong (24).
  8. Instrument according to claims 6 or 7, characterized in that the release lever (34) is arranged so as to drive a pin (28b) secured to the strike hammer (22).
  9. Instrument according to any of claims 5 to 8, characterized in that the position of the release lever (34) is indexed by a spring (38).
  10. Instrument according to any of claims 6 to 9, arranged so as a return spring (32) acting on a pin (28a) secured to the strike hammer (22) returns said hammer to its rest position.
  11. Instrument according to any of claims 2 to 10, characterized in that the ringing mechanism (6) includes a strip spring (54) arranged so as to be moved away from its rest position when a tooth (50) passes and which is then let down to strike a gong (24), and which is then returned to its rest position until the passage of the next tooth (50).
