Actuating device of a deadlock mechanism of a closure leaf member including at least one movable latching member, the device comprising a housing (1) to be attached to one side (2) of the leaf member and on which there is rotatively mounted a bar (4) of polygonal section having one end for connection to the movable latching member and an opposite end provided with an operating element (6, 7), mounted on the bar (4) so as to slide between a deadlocked position in which the operating element (6, 7) cooperates with an angular abutment (11) integral with the housing and arranged to deadlock the operating element (6, 7) in rotation in an angular latched position, and a non-deadlocked position in which the operating element (6, 7) is free of the angular abutment (11), characterised by the fact that an elastic return element (8) is provided for returning the operating element (6, 7) to the deadlocked position, and a radial projection (7.3) of the operating element (6, 7) is arranged for, firstly, in the deadlock position, providing said locking in rotation by the cooperation with said angular abutment (11) and for, secondly, in the non-deadlocked position, to slide, by rotation of the operating element (6, 7), from the angular latched position, below a shoulder (3.3) of a recess (3) provided in said housing (1) in order to oppose the action of the elastic return element (8).
  2. Device according to claim 2, wherein the elastic return element (8) is interposed between the operating element (6, 7) and a shoulder (9) of said bar (4).
  3. Device according to one of claims 1 and 2, wherein the operating element (6, 7) includes a locking ring (7) provided with at least one flat (10), and the housing (3) includes, successively in the axial direction in correspondence with said sliding, a narrow section (3.1) corresponding to the cross section of the locking ring (7) to receive the latter when the operating element (6, 7) is in the deadlocked position and having a face (11) facing the flat to form the abutment and a widened section carrying said shoulder (3.3), arranged to receive the locking ring (7) freely in rotation when the operating element (6, 7) is in the non-deadlocked position.
  4. Device according to claim 3, in which the locking ring (7) is mounted at one end of the operating element (6, 7).
  5. A closure leaf member having a side (2) on which there is mounted a deadlock mechanism comprising at least one locking pin (12) sliding along said side and an actuating device for the deadlock mechanism, characterised by the fact that the actuating device is in accordance with any of claims 1 to 4, the connecting end of the bar (4) being connected to a member (5) for converting the rotary movement of the operating element (6, 7) into a translatory movement of the locking pin (12).
