Claims (10)

  1. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock for a door, French window or the like, including, accommodated in a central casing (2), a control mechanism (3) designed so as to be capable of actuating at least one operating rod (4, 4A) and including, on the one hand, springy means (8) for automatically restoring the operating rod (4, 4A) into the locking position, as well as manual control means (9), in particular a tumbler (12) actuated through a control handle, for ensuring namely the unlocking of this operating rod (4, 4A) and the resetting of the springy means (8) and, on the other hand, a locking device (10) capable of maintaining the operating rod (4, 4A) in its unlocked position after the opening of the leaf of the door, French window or the like, and unlocking means (11) capable of de-activating said locking device (10) when closing the leaf against the sash-frame, in order to allow restoring said operating rod (4, 4A) into locked position, characterised in that said locking device (10) consists of a knuckle joint (25) comprised of at least two connecting rods (26, 27) connected to each other by means of a pivot (28), one of these connecting rods (26) being, in addition, made integral, through a hinged joint (29), with the operating rod (4, 4A) or a support (6) connected to the latter, while the other connecting rod (27) is made integral, through a hinged joint (30), with said casing (2), this so that, in the unlocked position of the operating rod (4, 4A), the pivot (28) and both hinged joints (29, 30) of this knuckle joint (25) are located substantially in one and the same alignment (31) parallel to the displacement (32) of said operating rod (4, 4A) or of the support (6), in order to sustain the latter in a position of unstable balance.
  2. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to claim 1, characterised in that it includes assisting means (33) for ensuring maintaining this knuckle joint (25) in its position of unstable balance during the complete period during which the leaf of the door, French window or the like is open and as long as this unstable balance is not voluntarily broken by the unlocking means (11) capable of de-activating the locking device (10) when closing the leaf against its sash-frame.
  3. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to any of the preceding claims, including, in addition, a spring-bolt (18) with automatic restoring into locking position under the action of a spring (19), characterised in that the unlocking means (11) consist of a control pawl (36) associated to the shaft (17) of the spring-bolt (18) and which, under the action of the spring (19) aimed at restoring the latter into its locking position, is so designed as to be capable of pushing back the knuckle joint (25) so as to offset the pivot (28) with respect to the alignment (31) of the hinged joints (29, 30), said unlocking means (11) being completed with a retaining organ (37) capable of retaining the spring-bolt (18) in an unlocked or partially unlocked position when the leaf is open, this retaining organ (37) also being designed so as to be controlled, and thus deactivated, to release said spring-bolt (18) by the sash-frame, in particular the keeper provided for on the latter and aimed at receiving said spring-bolt (18).
  5. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to claim 4, characterised in that the retaining organ (37) is directly integrated into the head (18A) of the spring-bolt (18) and is in the form of a lever (39) accommodated in a groove (40) provided for at the level of the back face (50), opposite the bevelled one (51) of this head (18A) of the spring-bolt (18), this groove (40) extending parallel to the displacement of the latter, while the lever (39) is pivotally mounted in said groove (40), about a spindle (52) perpendicular to the displacement of said spring-bolt (18) and includes, at the level of its external edge (53), a cut-out (54) capable of co-operating, in the active position of this retaining organ (37), with a retaining rim (55) provided for this purpose at the level of the casing (2).
  6. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to any of claims 4 or 5, characterised in that the retaining organ (37) is automatically restored into an active position under the action of a restoring spring (38).
  7. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to claims 5 and 6, characterised in that the lever (39) is extended, beyond its axis of pivotment (52), by a bend (56) on which is capable of acting the restoring spring (38), preferably in the shape of a blade spring fixed at the rear of the head (18A) of the spring-bolt (18).
  8. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to claim 7, characterised in that the bend (56) extending the lever (39) beyond its axis of pivotment (52) accommodates itself in a groove (57) which extends at the rear of the head (18A) of the spring-bolt (18), the bottom of this groove (57) acting as a stop against which said bend (56) is applied under the action of the restoring spring (38), corresponding to the active position of the retaining organ (37).
  9. Espagnolette or espagnolette-lock according to any of claims 5 to 8, characterised in that the outer edge (53) of the lever (39) in front, of the retaining rim (55) in the casing (2) is defined without a step, in order to allow this retaining organ (37) to withdraw during the drawing back of the spring-bolt (18) into unlocking position.
