Der Vorteil dieser Bremse liegt in der zweifachen Bremswirkung. Einerseits wird der eingesetzte Bremsklotz wie beim handelsüblichen Pendant auf den Fahrbahnbelag gedrückt und erzeugt dort die gewohnte Bremswirkung, andererseits wirkt der Bremsklotz auch auf das Hinterrad, womit die maximal zu erzeugende Bremswirkung prinzipiell verdoppelt werden kann.
Zusätzlich kann bei dieser Bremse die Bremskraft stufenlos und sehr fein dosiert werden durch mehr oder weniger anheben der Schuhspitze. Dies ist ebenfalls ein grosser Vorteil gegenüber dem handelsüblichen Bremsklotz, bei welchem es vielen Skatern schwer fällt, grossen Druck auf den Bremsklotz zu bringen.
