Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of elliptical optical modules with concave, intended for a motor vehicle.
  • the field of the invention is, in general, that of motor vehicle headlights.
  • the headlamps can perform various signaling and / or lighting functions, for example position lights, dipped beam headlights, high beam or daytime running lights.
  • Traditional optical modules are essentially composed of a mirror reflector associated with a light source.
  • An elliptical optical module essentially comprises a light source, a reflector and a convex lens.
  • the light source, the reflector and the lens are arranged so as to produce a light beam of given photometry. For example, for a high beam, the light rays emitted by the light source are approximately horizontal when the elliptical optical module is embedded in a motor vehicle.
  • An intermediate piece called “intermediate”, and having no particular optical properties, allows to attach the convex lens to the reflector.
  • the elliptical optical module may include an occluder or cover located between the reflector and the intermediate piece.
  • the blackout retains part of the light rays.
  • Such an elliptical optical module can for example perform a function of low beam.
  • An elliptical optical module without occulter produces on the contrary a light beam of relatively high intensity.
  • Such an elliptical optical module can for example perform a high beam function.
  • the occluder may be a fixed occluder, ie the elliptical module performs only one function, or a movable occluder, which allows the elliptical optical module to perform several functions.
  • An occluder generally comprises a support flap and an optically active flap.
  • the optically active flap makes it possible to obstruct at least part of the light rays.
  • the optically active flap comprises an active edge, typically an upper edge, defining the cutoff of the light beam.
  • the active edge may be substantially horizontal, in particular to fulfill a function of fog lamp, or have another form, according to the regulations in force in Europe, the United States and Japan.
  • the optically active flap may have a substantially flat shape, or a slightly curved shape.
  • the support shutter and the optically active shutter are combined, ie the fixed shutter comprises only fixed components, in particular only one shutter, which serves to obstruct at least part of the light rays emitted by the light source.
  • the optically active flap is movable relative to the support flap.
  • the support flap serves as support for the optically active flap, which effectively serves to obstruct at least a portion of the light rays.
  • the support flap of a movable occluder is conventionally substantially planar and conventionally has a U shape.
  • the support flap is fixed on a support part, generally the reflector itself, so that the plane the support flap is substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of the elliptical optical module.
  • the optically active flap can for example pivot about an axis of rotation under the direct or indirect effect of an actuator.
  • the optically active flap may be integral with a transmission shaft in contact with the actuator.
  • the actuator is controlled by the driver of the motor vehicle. For example, when the driver decides to go from the low beam function to the high beam function, the actuator is controlled so that the optically active flap is lowered.
  • the movable occluder does not interfere with the light rays and the beam thus produced has a relatively high intensity.
  • the actuator is attached directly to the reflector, or directly to the support panel of the movable shield.
  • the active edge of the optically active flap of the occluder can generate optical diffraction.
  • Such diffraction is directly a function of the wavelength of the light rays and may cause chromatic aberrations.
  • chromatic adjustment means to remedy chromatic aberrations. At least part of the shade can be pushed towards the lens, thanks to a chromatic adjustment screw.
  • the adjustment of the chromatism typically takes place during a development step prior to the assembly of the elliptical optical module in the motor vehicle.
  • the shield may bounce due to external vibrations on the support part, typically the reflector or the intermediate part, or on the chromatic adjustment screw if necessary. Such rebounds cause immediate variations in the light beam produced either in the case of a fixed mask, or in the case of a movable occluder with optically active flap raised or rotating, and may eventually alter the occulter.
  • the present invention aims at improving the reliability of an elliptical optical module comprising a concealer.
  • Document is known DE-A-10022235 an elliptical optical module according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the elliptical optical module according to the invention intended for a motor vehicle, comprising a reflector for receiving a light source, a shield comprising at least one support flap and an optically active flap for obstructing at least a portion of light rays emitted by the light source, a convex lens intended to receive at least a portion of the light rays, is characterized in that the elliptical optical module comprises elastic fixing means for maintaining or positioning the occulteur on a support piece and means adjustment of the chromatism for adjusting the position of at least a portion of the occluder, the resilient fixing means cooperating with the chromatic adjustment means in particular for elastically absorbing adjustments of the position of the occluder during adjustments of chromaticism.
  • the resilient fixing means make it possible to avoid bouncing of the concealer, in particular when the elliptical optical module is subjected to external vibrations.
  • the elliptical optical module according to the present invention is embedded in a motor vehicle, and that it is running, the light beam produced by the light source remains stable.
  • the shield is also less affected by bouncing than in elliptical optical modules according to the prior art.
  • the light source typically comprises a halogen type lamp, a xenon type lamp or at least one light emitting diode.
  • the support piece is preferably substantially parallel to the support flap of the concealer.
  • the resilient fixing means advantageously allow the support flap to be held against the support piece.
  • the resilient fixing means thus make it possible to absorb at least partially the energy produced by rebounds of the support flap in a direction substantially perpendicular to a plane of the support flap.
  • the optically active flap may or may not be also held against the support piece by the fastening means.
  • the present invention is not limited by the part of the occulter which is held on the support part by the elastic fixing means.
  • the present invention is not limited by the relative positions of the support piece and the support flap.
  • the elastic fastening means may also make it possible to avoid or minimize rebounds in a direction substantially parallel to the plane of the support piece, for example vertical or lateral rebounds when the elliptical optical module is embedded in the motor vehicle.
  • the resilient fixing means cooperate with the chromatic adjustment means, which in particular makes it possible to elastically absorb the position adjustments of the occluder during the chromatism adjustments.
  • the elastic fastening means can thus play two roles at once: preventing the shutter flap from oscillating, when it uses a movable flap, and that it moves from its inactive / retracted position to its active position, avoid also oscillations of the occultor, whether of fixed type or mobile type, when the projector is subjected to external vibrations (bad state of the road ...), but also absorption of small movements of the occulteur when one settles his position for problems of chromaticism, by the capacity of these elastic means, for example, to deform.
  • the chromatic adjustment means advantageously comprise a self-tapping screw.
  • the self-tapping screws have the advantage of having, once screwed, a relatively high resistance to rotation, thereby avoiding the introduction of a threaded brake piece.
  • the manufacturing method of the elliptical optical module according to the present invention is thus slightly simplified.
  • the self-tapping screw may be supported by an intermediate piece for otherwise connecting the convex lens to the reflector, or by any other part.
  • the present invention is however not limited by the presence or nature of the chromatic adjustment means.
  • a traditional screw can be used as a means of adjusting the chromaticism.
  • the self-tapping screw advantageously makes it possible to adjust the position of the support flap of the concealer.
  • the self-tapping screw allows for example to push the shutter support flap in the direction of an optical axis of the elliptical optical module.
  • the self-tapping screw can move the occulteur in another direction.
  • the self-tapping screw can adjust the position of another part of the occulteur.
  • the self-tapping screw is advantageously disposed substantially perpendicularly to the support flap of the occluder. Fixing means resiliently allow to bring the support flap against the self-tapping screw.
  • the support flap is thus held on the support part between the self-tapping screw and the elastic fixing means.
  • the present invention is however not limited by the relative positions of the elastic fastening means and chromatic adjustment means.
  • the reflector advantageously comprises the support piece.
  • the resilient fixing means comprise at least one tongue integrated in the reflector.
  • the support piece is included in the reflector and the tongue is integrated in the reflector: the support piece and the elastic fixing means can thus be implemented without additional piece, thereby not making the elliptical optical module manufacturing process more complex.
  • the reflector may comprise a cavity in which the light source may be introduced, and at the other end, a substantially planar contour and substantially parallel to the concealer.
  • the contour acts as a support piece against which the occluder is held.
  • Two tabs integrated in the reflector and located on either side of the contour to ensure the maintenance of the shield, and thus to mitigate the bounces of the shield to the convex lens.
  • only one tab is used or more than two tabs.
  • the support piece is not included in the reflector.
  • the support piece may for example be included in the intermediate piece.
  • the elastic attachment means may for example comprise two tongues integrated in the intermediate piece. The tongues prevent rebounds of the shield to the cavity of the reflector.
  • the support piece may also be separate from the reflector and the intermediate piece.
  • the elastic attachment means may also not be integrated in the reflector or in the intermediate piece.
  • the present invention is not limited by the nature of the elastic fastening means.
  • the optically active flap is movable relative to the support flap.
  • the elliptical optical module advantageously comprises an actuator under the effect of which the optically active flap pivots.
  • the occulteur is thus a mobile occulteur.
  • the support flap conventionally serves as a support for the optically active flap, which effectively makes it possible to obstruct at least part of the light rays.
  • the support flap may for example have a substantially flat shape and roughly U-shaped.
  • a portion of the support flap may be rigidly fixed to the support piece, for example a lower part of the support flap is fixed rigidly between the reflector and the intermediate piece.
  • the self-tapping screw is used to adjust the position of an upper part of the shutter support flap.
  • the upper part of the shutter support flap is however maintained by the resilient fixing means against the support piece.
  • Such an elliptical optical module with a movable occluder can thus fulfill at least two functions, for example high beam when the optically active flap is lowered, and low beam when the flap optically active obstructs a portion of the light rays emitted by the light source.
  • the support flap and the optically active flap are merged.
  • An elliptical optical module comprising such a fixed concave is generally associated with a single function, for example low beam.
  • the elliptical optic module with fixed shield according to the present invention comprises elastic fixing means for maintaining the fixed shield on a support piece.
  • the elliptical optical module may also include chromatic adjustment means for adjusting the position of the fixed occluder.
  • the present invention is therefore not limited by the shape or nature of the occluder.
  • the actuator is advantageously attached to the reflector by means of an actuator support.
  • the intermediate piece and the reflector can both be made of sheet metal, or in another material, of the aluminum type.
  • the metal sheet has the advantage of offering a relatively high mechanical strength for a relatively low weight: a metal sheet reflector will be, for a given mechanical strength, thinner and lighter than an aluminum reflector.
  • aluminum is a material generally easier to mold than sheet metal.
  • the elliptical optical module according to the present invention may comprise an actuator support for indirectly fixing the actuator to the reflector.
  • Elliptical optical modules according to art prior art include an actuator attached directly to the reflector.
  • the actuator support makes it possible to fix the actuator without having a delicate molding to be carried out on the reflector, which can be particularly advantageous in the case of a reflector made of sheet metal.
  • the actuator support may be made of a plastic material, or of another material.
  • the actuator support can be designed so that it can be attached indifferently to a right side or a left side of the reflector.
  • the actuator support has a specific shape such that a given actuator support can be attached only to one side of the reflector.
  • the actuator can be attached directly to the reflector, regardless of the material in which the latter is made.
  • the present invention is not limited by the way in which the movement of the optically active flap is implemented - the optically active flap can for example slide vertically, in a translational movement, or by means allowing the movement of the optically active flap.
  • the reflector advantageously comprises at least one folding fastening tab.
  • the actuator support advantageously comprises at least one attachment slot for receiving the foldable fastening tab, so as to allow the attachment of the actuator support on the reflector.
  • the actuator support is thus fixed to the reflector in a relatively simple manner, without involving additional fasteners.
  • the method of fixing the actuator support is thus relatively easy to implement: simply slide the foldable fastening tab into the mounting slot of the actuator support and fold it over the actuator support.
  • the reflector preferably comprises a plurality of collapsible fastening tabs, for example two.
  • the actuator support preferably includes a plurality of securing slots so that each collapsible fastener tab of the reflector can be inserted and folded into an associated mounting slot of the actuator support.
