Definitions
- the invention relates to a cover for heat and fire protection of objects (e.g., buildings, furnishings, machines, computing, people, floors) located near fireplaces / fire.
- objects e.g., buildings, furnishings, machines, computing, people, floors
- Heat and fire covers are typically used to protect fires from objects that are in the immediate vicinity of the fire and therefore at risk of being damaged.
- the damage is usually done not only by the fire itself, but above all by the heat and the smoke and the associated high temperatures in the air as well as resulting toxic and non-toxic gases.
- water damage usually caused an immense damage by the firefighting used extinguishing water ("water damage").
- covers or protective measures made of refractory or flame retardant materials have the disadvantage that they are often not practical in large sizes (for example for buildings) (too heavy or not easy to handle).
- the covers usually do not have the ability to absorb water, or give off cooling, in order to alleviate the heat generated during the fire or to prevent the damage caused by fire water damage. Or they are applied in liquid form (SAP gel) on the object to be protected and can hardly be removed or make the object to be protected often useless.
- most previously used covers or protective measures are either very expensive and / or not reusable.
- the object of this patent underlying invention is therefore to provide a heat and fire protection cover, which compensates for the disadvantages of previous covers and offers real benefits for use in heat, fire and fires.
- the invention is an optimal heat and fire protection, since on the one hand, the materials themselves by their properties are flame retardant or fireproof and thus do not intervene in the fire process itself or participate but protect.
- the invention by virtue of the ability of the invention, and in particular of the nonwoven fabric contained, to absorb water, release it only by evaporation (not by mechanical action such as wringing or squeezing), thereby contributing to high temperature cooling. This will keep the items to be protected from fire cool and will not be damaged by fire, heat or hot smoke or gases. Also, an inflammation of the objects to be protected is prevented as well as possible explosions that could be caused by the heat and thereby further fuel the fire. In addition, the oxygen required for burning is largely kept away.
- the fleece obtains a very high mechanical strength and can thus protect objects to be protected excellently from mechanical interventions as well as from the fire itself.
- the water that is sensibly applied in large fires and high risk already to activate the material in a defined amount after wrapping the objects can not be removed by mechanical pressure, but escapes only by evaporation which physically causes the effect of evaporative cold. Due to the water thus bound in the material of the invention, therefore, a strong cooling effect is achieved when external heat (fire, fire, etc.), which is temperature-dependent. The stronger the ambient temperature the stronger the cooling effect occurs. This cooling effect results purely from the physical effect in the evaporation of the water bound by the material at high temperatures. The cooling effect thus optimally protects the enveloped objects from the heat or hot smoke that occurs during fires.
- a material is used in the area of fire protection cover which is very light and e.g. can be transported on wheels. As a result, even very large covers such. feasible for buildings practicable. Since the material is very light, it is also very easy to transport. Since it is also very flexible and often adapted only at the place of use depending on the size and shape of the fire and fire objects to be protected, it can be stored in any dry place.
- each object can be enveloped so that really all the components of the object with the Envelopment can be achieved so as not to provide through any openings of the heat inlet openings.
- the envelope can be done practically tight.
- the material used for the invention is malleable and can be quickly and easily made into any shape by appropriate cutting tools (scissors, knives, etc.) and easily machined e.g. also sew.
- This offers real advantages in the wrapping of all sorts of objects, as this allows the material to be stored in the form of larger areas or on wheels and must be brought into the appropriate form only in use.
- a pre-determined size eliminates this and makes the application very flexible.
- the invention is therefore independent of the size and shape of the object to be protected. Due to the variable stitching or fastening the fleece is held firmly in the envelope and can not slip. When cutting the solid composite of fabric and nonwoven material is thus guaranteed.
- finished heat and fire protection enclosures in certain sizes in various forms for quick slipping over objects can be produced quickly and cheaply.
- the nonwoven in the invention due to its structure and specific coating, can absorb 10 to 20 times its weight in water, depending on the thickness and amount of coating. This offers significant advantages for use in fires.
- In addition to the property as a cover and thus occurring safe protection against direct contact of the objects to be protected from externally acting materials or heat and smoke during fires or firefighters also used in fires fire water is bound and not penetrate to the object to be protected.
- the material of the invention releases the bound water not by mechanical pressure but only by evaporation, so that the coated object does not become wet.
- for the side of the enclosure that faces the object is made with waterproof material. As a result, the object is protected from the often occurring during fires water damage.
- the nonwoven in the invention is flame retardant and, when dry, has similar properties to polyester having a flash point of 500 ° C and a melt temperature of 250 ° C.
- the upholstery fabric has been tested and is especially suitable for it and therefore also flame retardant or fireproof.
- the material even in a dry state, can be described as far-reaching refractory, which is important for the field of application.
- the flash point and the melting temperature can no longer be determined.
- the invention is therefore to be called refractory. This allows the fire to hit the surface of the fire protection cover directly without damaging the material.
- the object to be protected is protected by the high temperature from the outside and the resulting evaporation of the bound water optimally cooled and not damaged. Further application of water during firefighting also maintains the effect over the one-time evaporation time.
- the product As the material absorbs water, thereby cooling and protecting against heat and releases the water only by evaporation, the product is infinitely reusable and can be used reversibly. After use in case of fire, the water evaporates and can be stored in a dry state to be used again in the next fire. Due to the reusability, the product is very environmentally friendly and more cost effective than e.g. Disposable tarpaulins or gels.
- the material of the invention is harmless to humans and nature and separates even if it should fall on fire when dry, no toxic or harmful substances.
- the unlikely burning of the material produces only different amounts of carbon monoxide, depending on the oxygen content.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cover for heat and fire protection of objects (e.g., buildings, furnishings, machines, computing, people, floors) located near fireplaces / fire.
Zudem entsteht meist ein immenser Schaden durch das zur Brandbekämpfung eingesetzte Löschwasser ("Wasserschaden").Heat and fire covers are typically used to protect fires from objects that are in the immediate vicinity of the fire and therefore at risk of being damaged. The damage is usually done not only by the fire itself, but above all by the heat and the smoke and the associated high temperatures in the air as well as resulting toxic and non-toxic gases. In addition, usually caused an immense damage by the firefighting used extinguishing water ("water damage").
The known covers or protective measures made of refractory or flame retardant materials have the disadvantage that they are often not practical in large sizes (for example for buildings) (too heavy or not easy to handle). In addition, the covers usually do not have the ability to absorb water, or give off cooling, in order to alleviate the heat generated during the fire or to prevent the damage caused by fire water damage. Or they are applied in liquid form (SAP gel) on the object to be protected and can hardly be removed or make the object to be protected often useless. In addition, most previously used covers or protective measures are either very expensive and / or not reusable.
In reality, the covered objects are so heavily damaged despite previously used covers that they can no longer be used, repaired or repaired and a further significant and monetary damage. As a rule, these covers are therefore often not used at all, since additional costs and expenses arise, but no real protection is available.
The object of this patent underlying invention is therefore to provide a heat and fire protection cover, which compensates for the disadvantages of previous covers and offers real benefits for use in heat, fire and fires.
Die Erfindung besteht aus zwei Teilen.
- a. First, a light and flexible filling material. This consists of a non-woven polyester made of polyester (carrier fleece), which is coated with so-called superabsorbent (Super Absorbing Polymers = SAP). Superabsorbents are known from the prior art. These are networks of flexible hydrophilic polymers, which may be both ionic and nonionic in nature. These are able to absorb and bind aqueous liquids and are thus used to absorb eg body fluids in hygiene articles such as diapers or the like. used. In addition, superabsorbents are also used in areas of technology in which liquids must be absorbed. Superabsorbers are also used in the area of "fire protection". This is done in the form of an SAP gel, which is sprayed on houses or used to protect against the spread of forest fires. The disadvantage of the gel is its fluid nature. It must be removed after the fire again, which is problematic especially in nature. However, houses and other objects such as cars, IT, etc., must be released from the gel again. Since the gel naturally also enters cracks and openings of an object, it is sometimes not possible to completely remove the gel and the object is thus often even damaged, inoperative or at least not in perfect condition. A repair or repair is, if possible, associated with additional costs. In addition, the gel is not reusable and must be disposed of.
- b. Secondly, the invention consists of a fabric covering the nonwoven which is already commercially available in many colors and variations from different manufacturers, the top and bottom of which can be different (upholstery 1 and 2). These are eg CS fabric, Goretex, aluminum or other refractory or flame-retardant materials. The cover fabric, made from one or two materials, serves as a cover for the plastic fleece. The wrapping is pulled over the plastic fleece and manufactured in the appropriate size as a coating. In addition, the material is wrapped tightly quilted or otherwise fixed depending on the fabric, so that when cutting off the required amount of plastic fleece is held in the enclosure. The material can be taken by the meter on rolls or as single blankets or mats in different sizes or be installed in clothing for protection against heat and attached or attached. In addition, the invention can also be combined with other materials or attached to other objects (eg rods, scaffolding). Of course, ready-made wrappings for items such as cars, IT, etc. can be made, which can then be quickly pulled over the objects and provide immediate protection. In order to prevent the object from becoming moist, the underside of the cover (eg cover fabric 1), ie the side facing the object to be protected, will be impermeable to water if necessary. The upper side of the envelope (eg, cover fabric 2) facing away from the object will be permeable to air and water to ensure the absorption and evaporation of the bound water and thus to produce the cooling effect.
The invention is an optimal heat and fire protection, since on the one hand, the materials themselves by their properties are flame retardant or fireproof and thus do not intervene in the fire process itself or participate but protect. Secondly, by virtue of the ability of the invention, and in particular of the nonwoven fabric contained, to absorb water, release it only by evaporation (not by mechanical action such as wringing or squeezing), thereby contributing to high temperature cooling. Furthermore, by activating with water, the fleece obtains a very high mechanical strength and can thus protect objects to be protected excellently from mechanical interventions as well as from the fire itself. The water that is sensibly applied in large fires and high risk already to activate the material in a defined amount after wrapping the objects can not be removed by mechanical pressure, but escapes only by evaporation which physically causes the effect of evaporative cold.
By means of this invention a material is used in the area of fire protection cover which is very light and e.g. can be transported on wheels. As a result, even very large covers such. feasible for buildings practicable. Since the material is very light, it is also very easy to transport. Since it is also very flexible and often adapted only at the place of use depending on the size and shape of the fire and fire objects to be protected, it can be stored in any dry place.
The material that is used for the invention is very flexible, which allows use as a cover even of irregularly shaped objects without damaging the wrapping parts. In addition, each object can be enveloped so that really all the components of the object with the Envelopment can be achieved so as not to provide through any openings of the heat inlet openings. The envelope can be done practically tight.
The material used for the invention is malleable and can be quickly and easily made into any shape by appropriate cutting tools (scissors, knives, etc.) and easily machined e.g. also sew. This offers real advantages in the wrapping of all sorts of objects, as this allows the material to be stored in the form of larger areas or on wheels and must be brought into the appropriate form only in use. A pre-determined size eliminates this and makes the application very flexible. The invention is therefore independent of the size and shape of the object to be protected. Due to the variable stitching or fastening the fleece is held firmly in the envelope and can not slip. When cutting the solid composite of fabric and nonwoven material is thus guaranteed. In addition, finished heat and fire protection enclosures in certain sizes in various forms for quick slipping over objects can be produced quickly and cheaply.
The nonwoven in the invention, due to its structure and specific coating, can absorb 10 to 20 times its weight in water, depending on the thickness and amount of coating. This offers significant advantages for use in fires. In addition to the property as a cover and thus occurring safe protection against direct contact of the objects to be protected from externally acting materials or heat and smoke during fires or firefighters also used in fires fire water is bound and not penetrate to the object to be protected. The material of the invention releases the bound water not by mechanical pressure but only by evaporation, so that the coated object does not become wet. In addition, for the side of the enclosure that faces the object is made with waterproof material. As a result, the object is protected from the often occurring during fires water damage.
The nonwoven in the invention is flame retardant and, when dry, has similar properties to polyester having a flash point of 500 ° C and a melt temperature of 250 ° C. The upholstery fabric has been tested and is especially suitable for it and therefore also flame retardant or fireproof.
As a result, the material, even in a dry state, can be described as far-reaching refractory, which is important for the field of application.
By using the material in water-activated state (wet), the flash point and the melting temperature can no longer be determined. Thus, the invention is therefore to be called refractory.
This allows the fire to hit the surface of the fire protection cover directly without damaging the material. The object to be protected is protected by the high temperature from the outside and the resulting evaporation of the bound water optimally cooled and not damaged. Further application of water during firefighting also maintains the effect over the one-time evaporation time.
As the material absorbs water, thereby cooling and protecting against heat and releases the water only by evaporation, the product is infinitely reusable and can be used reversibly. After use in case of fire, the water evaporates and can be stored in a dry state to be used again in the next fire. Due to the reusability, the product is very environmentally friendly and more cost effective than e.g. Disposable tarpaulins or gels.
Holz entstehen. The material of the invention is harmless to humans and nature and separates even if it should fall on fire when dry, no toxic or harmful substances. The unlikely burning of the material produces only different amounts of carbon monoxide, depending on the oxygen content. Thus, the material is also harmless in this regard, since these substances also in the combustion of e.g. Wood is created.
Of course, different nonwoven materials with different thickness and water binding capability can be produced and used according to the requirements of the responsible responsible for firefighting measures. Higher thickness of the material or higher amount of subabsorber coating of the web changes the height of the water binding capability upwards. Of course, this increases the weight of the fleece per m2, which, however, occurs only to a small extent and thus has hardly any effect on the handling. At higher coating amount, however, the mechanical strength of the material increases in the wet state, so that thereby a mechanical strength is given, which may well be in the context of fire fighting advantage. A heavily coated wet material has similar strength to flexible plastic material ("rubber") and withstands high mechanical stress (e.g., hail, falling or flying objects, e.g., in an explosion, etc.). Due to the "rubber-like" consistency, impacts and mechanical impact are absorbed from the outside (shock absorber property).
