Now in a convenient backward movement, the device 10 can be pulled back to the new site. Claims (7)

  1. Device (10) for removing coverings laid on flat surfaces with:
    a support frame (11) on which drive wheels (16) are mounted around a rotational axis (15) and which houses a motor (17) and gearing (18) for driving the drive wheels (16) in a working direction,
    at least one freely rotating support element (21) arranged in the working direction behind the drive wheels (16) with its axis parallel to that of said drive wheels (16),
    a motor-driven cutting blade (25), and
    support plates (19), one of each is arranged in the region of the drive wheels (16) on each side of the gearing (18), to which support plates (19) the motor-driven cutting blade (25) is fixed articulatingly by means of a baseplate (27) with screws, each support plate (19) having at least two bolts (23) arranged at equal distances from the centre of the axis (15) and at equal angular distances around the axis (15), said bolts (23) engaging with circle segment-shaped slots (24) provided in the support frame (11) for limiting relative movement between the support plates (19) and the support frame (11), and wherein for moving the device (10) contrary to the working direction the drive wheels (16) can be raised by tilting the support frame (11) on to the at least one support element (21).
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that on the support frame (11) above the at least one support element (21) at least one guide handle (14) is provided for tilting the support frame (11).
  3. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the support element (21) has two support wheels.
  4. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the drive motor (17) for the drive wheels (16) is arranged on the gearing (18).
  5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a drive motor (28) for the cutting blade (25) is arranged on the support plate (19).
  6. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a drive with a shock-type oscillatory motion is provided for the cutting blade (25).
  7. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the support frame (11) has two legs (12, 13) situated remote from one another, each of which has a cantilever (22) for carrying the support element (21).
