Definitions
- the present invention relates to dust bags vacuum cleaners, and more particularly to a device for opening and closing the dust bag.
- One category of vacuum cleaners is equipped with a dust bag to temporarily store waste.
- the bag allows simple handling of this waste.
- the connection or attachment of the bag inside the vacuum cleaner is generally provided by a relatively rigid part, integral part of the bag, often made in the form of a cardboard sheet, which also allows to maintain the bag entry opening in the desired position.
- cardboard will be used to designate this part.
- the cardboard has a substantially central opening for the aeraulic connection between the suction duct connected to the nozzle, and the dust bag.
- the cardboard can be inserted into slides that hold it in place.
- the document FR 1 554 220 discloses a vacuum bag having a carton consisting of three rigid sheets folded over each other and defining an opening through which is introduced a suction pipe in connection with a cleaning nozzle.
- the sheet in connection with the filter bag of the bag has several flaps cut in said plate and folded so as to cover the opening. These flaps can deviate during the introduction of the tubing against a restoring force of an elastic band tending to keep the flaps in their closed position of the opening. Thus, when the tubing is removed, the flaps resume their original position of closing the opening, by the restoring force of the elastic band.
- the dust bag can then be removed from the frame of the vacuum cleaner.
- this closure does not ensure an effective seal so that even the finest dust, remain trapped in the bag. Indeed, by cutting flaps, this closure is incomplete and can leave fine dust escape during transportation of the bag for replacement.
- the present invention aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned by proposing a dust bag having an automatic closure of the bag when the latter is removed from the vacuum cleaner, without having to remove the suction pipe, and this, without increasing the cost of the bag or reduce its strength.
- a dust bag for vacuum cleaner comprising a filter envelope connected to a cardboard made of a relatively rigid material, said cardboard being formed of a superposition of at least three sheets: a sheet upper, an intermediate sheet and a lower sheet held together and each having at least one orifice defining an opening in the carton, the bottom sheet being in contact with the filter casing, the intermediate sheet being cut so that a flap of substantially the same thickness and having an orifice can slide between the lower sheet and the topsheet between two extreme positions, one of these positions making the opening in the cardboard while the other position closes said opening, characterized in that the contour of the orifice of the upper sheet substantially corresponds to the sliding area of the orifice of the flap and in that the The thickness of the flap orifice contour is at least 0.5 millimeters.
- the dust bag according to the invention comprises a flap having an orifice and sliding between two sheets, said flap allowing, in its sliding, to open or close the dust bag.
- the main feature of the invention is related to the accessibility of the shutter to allow its sliding, which is achieved by the opening of the upper sheet which covers the entire sliding area of the flap orifice.
- an outer member bearing on the edge of the opening of the flap, substantially perpendicular to the cardboard can be used to slide the flap, by a suitable relative movement of the cardboard in relation to this organ. If the latter is fixed, the proper movement of the cardboard can allow automatic opening or closing of the bag by this simple movement.
- the extreme positions are determined by cooperation between stops made by a specific cut of the intermediate sheet, and protruding lugs formed in the flap, which avoids using other elements outside the bag to limit the movement of the flap , the thickness of the flap and leaves allowing a net stop without degradation of the sliding of the flap.
- the shutter is derived from the cutting of the intermediate sheet.
- the shutter slides in a direction substantially parallel to one of the edges of the cardboard, which simplifies, of a part of the production of the cardboard, and secondly the relative movement between the cardboard and the outer member actuating the shutter.
- the orifices of the lower sheet and the flap are circular and of substantially the same diameter, thus defining the opening of the cardboard.
- the circular shape is particularly well suited for a tight connection and without indexing between the cardboard and the outer actuating member.
- the realization of the cardboard can take different forms, the sheets can be independent and glued to each other, or come from folding and gluing a single plate.
- the sheets are made of cardboard and have a thickness of at least 0.7 mm, the carton allowing a low cost but requiring a minimum thickness to ensure the expected interactions between the cardboard and the external body.
- the sheets are made of plastic, which notably provides better sliding of the flap between the two sheets.
- the present invention also relates to a device for connecting a dust bag in a vacuum cleaner frame, which, according to a first embodiment, is characterized in that the bag conforms to one of the characteristics mentioned above, in the frame comprises sliding slides of the cardboard of said bag, and in that a ventilation connection piece is connected to the vacuum cleaner frame, the end of this nozzle being of substantially circular section and arranged on the sliding path of the cardboard.
- connection device comprises, formed on the frame, slides allowing the introduction and withdrawal of the bag by sliding the cardboard in said slides, and a nozzle for connecting air to connect the vacuum cleaner nozzle to the dust bag, said nozzle being fixed on the frame in such a way that the end of this tip is located on the sliding path of the cardboard, so as to have to bend said cardboard to achieve its total introduction into the vacuum cleaner, the bending providing the necessary interaction between the end of the tip and in particular the edge of the opening of the flap for effecting the movement of said flap.
- the bag conforms to one of the features mentioned above, the cardboard of the bag being placed in a receptacle in place of a walls of said receptacle, and in that the frame comprises a housing of the receptacle, of complementary shape to said receptacle, and in that a ventilation connection piece is connected to the vacuum cleaner frame, the end of this nozzle being of substantially circular section and disposed on the sliding path of the receptacle, the cardboard being arranged vis-à-vis the tip.
- This mode of implementation allows the same functionalities as above while avoiding to directly manipulate the bag which is in a receptacle. It is the establishment and withdrawal of the receptacle which respectively allow the opening and closing of the bag, reducing the risk of getting dirty during the change of the dust bag.
- the diameter of the end of the tip is very slightly less than the diameter of the orifices of the lower sheet and the flap.
- the paperboard 1 of a dust bag (not shown), according to an exemplary embodiment, is composed of three sheets of the same size: an upper sheet 2, an intermediate sheet 10 and a bottom sheet 30.
- the upper sheet 2 has an oblong hole 4 as will be explained later.
- the intermediate sheet 10 has a recess 18 leaving a symmetrical scalloped zone, the contours of this zone forming in particular two opening stop edges 12, and four closure stop edges 14, 16.
- the recess 18 is partially occupied by a flap 20 of thickness substantially equal to that of the sheet 10, and having a circular orifice 26. Furthermore, this flap is cut so as to have lugs 22 capable of cooperating with the stop edges 12, 14 of the intermediate sheet 10, as well as two shoulders 24 capable of cooperating with the stop edges 16 of the sheet 10, forming a stop.
- the bottom sheet 30, in connection with the envelope of the bag dust, has a circular orifice 34, whose dimensions are substantially identical to those of the orifice 26.
- An elastic membrane 32 is preferably disposed, for example by gluing, under the sheet 30, so as to partially close the orifice in order to make a sealing collar.
- the figure 2 shows the cardboard where the sliding flap occupies one of the two extreme positions called the open position, the lugs 22 being in abutment against the stop edges 12 of the intermediate sheet.
- the orifice 26 of the flap 20 coincides with the orifices 4 and 34, so that the cardboard has an opening, between the inside and the outside of the dust bag.
- the figure 3 shows the sliding shutter in its other extreme position, called the closed position, where the lugs 22 and the shoulder 24 bear respectively on the flanges 14 and 16 of the intermediate sheet.
- the shape of the orifice 4 corresponds to the displacement of the orifice 26 between the two extreme positions of the flap 20, and is thus established by the size of said orifice 26 and the distance separating the two stop edges 12, 14.
- the Figures 4 to 6 show the principle of cooperation between the dust bag 40, and in particular its cardboard, constitutive 1, and a suction tip 50.
- the dust bag comprises a filter envelope 42, linked to the bottom sheet 30.
- the end 56 of the suction duct, in interaction with the cardboard, is preferably of circular section, its diameter being very slightly less than the diameter of the orifices 26 and 34.
- the cardboard 1 is held in the frame 54 of the vacuum cleaner, by slides 52 in which it can slide freely.
- the placement and removal of the bag from the frame of the vacuum cleaner are performed in the following manner.
- the suction duct 50 is connected to the frame of the vacuum cleaner, being disposed on one of the walls defining the frame of the vacuum cleaner. Its layout is such that its end, inside the frame of the vacuum cleaner, is located between the slides, in the path of the cardboard, substantially perpendicular to the plane defined by the stack of sheets.
- the bag 40 for recovering and storing the waste is then introduced between the slides 52.
- the arrangement of the suction duct 50 makes it necessary to bend the cardboard so as to slide it completely into the slideways.
- the cardboard then interacts, of friction type, with the end 56 of the endpiece 50.
- the tip 56 of the conduit 50 is first supported against the sheet 2, then the orifice 4 comes into interaction with said tip, this interaction being immediate if the flap is in the closed position.
- the orifice 26 of the shutter 20 allows the cardboard to be slightly decanted, this orifice then coming, by part of its contour, in interaction with the tip 56.
- the additional displacement of the cardboard causes the automatic sliding of the flap 20 to the open position of the flap where the orifice 26 coincides with the orifice 34.
- the cardboard then resumes a rectilinear position, the endpiece penetrating then slightly inside the bag.
- the interaction between the tip 56 and the cardboard is then performed only by the flange 32, which ensures a good seal between the inside and outside of the bag during suction.
- the sheets constituting the cardboard and in particular those constituting the shutter, have a sufficient thickness serving as support for the interaction with the tip 56.
- the sheets are made of cardboard and have a thickness of 0.8 mm.
- the bending and elasticity of the cardboard also ensure this cooperation. However, it is necessary that the cardboard has a certain rigidity to keep a good mechanical strength.
- the slides can be mounted against the force of two springs so as to stretch said springs in order to slide the cardboard in the slides.
- the end of the tip is advantageously conical, to facilitate the attachment or detachment of the cardboard by the tip during insertion or when removing the cardboard in the frame. It is also conceivable to arrange different slopes at the cone so in particular to promote the suppression of the interaction between the cardboard and the tip during removal of the bag.
- the user has an opening and an automatic closing of his vacuum bag, respectively when he introduces and when he removes his bag from the vacuum cleaner frame.
- the tip serves only to close the cardboard when removing the bag.
- the opening of the cardboard by the sliding of the flap in its open position, can be achieved by pressing the end 21 of the flap, which projects from the cardboard when the flap is in the closed position, against the bottom the housing of the bag, thus allowing to push the flap and thus to position it in the open position of the cardboard.
- the cardboard 60 is positioned in a receptacle 70, said receptacle being slidably guided in a housing provided in the frame of the vacuum cleaner.
- the role of the slides previously presented is then provided by the walls of the receptacle during its sliding in the frame of the vacuum cleaner.
- the bag attached to the cardboard has been omitted to make the representation and explanations clearer.
- the receptacle 70 is substantially parallelepipedal in shape having a wall-free face.
- This face which is the upper side presented figure 7 , corresponding to the front part of the receptacle in its use, is intended to receive the carton 60, so that the latter occupies substantially the entire surface of this wall-free face, so as to close the receptacle.
- the cardboard 60 is positioned on a multitude of lugs 72 from the receptacle, originating, according to the embodiment, ribs 74 formed during the molding of the receptacle.
- These ribs 74 are distributed over the inner periphery of the receptacle, in order to maintain the principle of bending the carton for its cooperation with the connector end.
- the cardboard is flush with the upper part of the side walls of the receptacle.
- an air outlet On the face opposite the wall-free face is provided an air outlet by a multitude of openings 82, visible figure 9 .
- the receptacle 70 has a large handle 80 formed outside one of the faces of said receptacle, this face corresponding to the upper face of the receptacle in use.
- the figure 8 also makes it possible to visualize small holding pads 76 of the cardboard, these studs being located above certain lugs 72 of the cardboard support.
- FIGS. 9 and 10 show the receptacle equipped with the cardboard according to the invention during its use.
- the vacuum cleaner 84 has a frame 86 on which are mounted in particular two large wheels 88 at the rear and a small wheel at the front. Partly before the vacuum cleaner, is provided a large housing 90. This housing resumes, with the game, the outer dimensions of the receptacle 70, except the handle, so that the receptacle is guided, when introduced into the vacuum cleaner , by the walls delimiting said housing.
- a connecting end 92 protrudes inside the housing 90.
- the cardboard by its positioning restoring somehow the missing wall of the receptacle, is located vis-à-vis the mouthpiece when the receptacle is introduced into the housing according to the provision presented figure 9 .
- This provision reproduces the basic scheme of the figure 5 , the slides then being constituted by the side walls of the housing 90, for sliding the receptacle and thus the cardboard equipped with its bag, not shown, towards the bottom of the housing.
- a recess 78 is formed in the receptacle 70, so that it allows the passage of the nozzle 92 when the receptacle is introduced into the housing 90, so that the tip only interacts with cardboard 60, as previously explained.
- the maximum deflection due to the bending does not exceed 2 mm.
- the displacement of the flap between its two extreme positions is of the order of 40 mm.
- the height of the recess 78 is 8 mm.
- the handle 80 has, in addition, a wide edge to bear on the periphery of the housing 90. In this way, the introduction and extraction of the receptacle is simple and easy, the handle being disposed near the control buttons 94, 96 of the operation of the apparatus. In addition, this introduction and extraction of the receptacle makes it possible, respectively, to open and close automatically the flap of the cardboard.
