    c) the front vehicle end (13) of the transport vehicle (1) and the work vehicle (15) each have a coupling (14,16) for detachable connection to one another.
  2. A machine according to claim 1, characterized in that a hydraulic installation (26) is provided on the work vehicle (15), formed by a hydraulic tank (31), a central hydraulic motor (21) actuatable via the supply line (18), and hydraulic pumps (39) and rotation motors (40) actuatable by the hydraulic motor (21).
  3. A machine according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that four working units (23) are provided on a machine frame (27) of the work vehicle (15), the working units (23) being displaceable independently of one another and relative to the machine frame (27) by means of respective separate displacement drives (35) in a longitudinal direction (37) of the machine extending perpendicularly to a wheel axis (36).
  4. A machine according to claim 3, characterized in that each working unit (15) is connected to a contact-less sensor (44) for detecting a sleeper position and actuating the associated displacement drive (35).
  5. A machine according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that each working unit (23) is configured as a screwing head (25) which is vertically adjustable relative to the machine frame (27) by means of a drive (22) and has a hydraulic rotation motor (40).
  6. A machine according to claim 5, characterized in that a separate hydraulic pump (39) is associated with each rotation motor (40).
  7. A machine according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a control device (24) connected to the working units (23) of the work vehicle (15) is arranged in the driver's cabin (4) of the transport vehicle (1).
  8. A method of treating a track (11) with an on/off track transport vehicle (1) and a work vehicle (15) designed to be driven by the former to the track construction site, characterized by the following method steps:
    a) the work vehicle (15) is set down - by means of a jib (5) of the transport vehicle (1) - from the loading area (46) of the same onto the track (11) in front of a driver's cabin (4) of the transport vehicle (1), in a working direction (34),
    b) for supplying energy, a hydraulic supply line (18) of the work vehicle (15) is connected to a hydraulic coupling (17) of the transport vehicle (1),
    c) the work vehicle (15) connected to the transport vehicle (1) by means of a coupling (14,16) is moved onward - relative to the transport vehicle (1) advancing at continuous speed - with a cyclical working movement composed of a forward motion and a local standstill, respectively.
