Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a powdery fluid device comprising a fluid reservoir with a movable actuating wall and a spray port.
  • the term "powder” refers to any solid in the form of fine particles such as a powder which has mechanical and dynamic qualities of the liquids, that is to say, it flows, pulverizes, fills volumes, etc.
  • the present invention applies more particularly to the field of perfumery, cosmetics or pharmacy.
  • the reservoir For the actuation of the dispenser, it is sufficient to exert pressure on the movable actuating wall to thereby reduce the useful volume of the reservoir and put the powdery fluid it contains under pressure. Under the effect of this pressure, the powdery fluid product is discharged towards the spray orifice beyond which it is dispensed in the form of a jet of sprayed product. It is advantageous for the reservoir to contain a gas, for example air, which will serve as a driving medium for transporting the pulverulent fluid in the direction of the spray orifice and beyond in spray form.
  • a gas for example air
  • the proportion of fluid product powder with respect to the gas is approximately constant.
  • the pulverulent fluid product can move inside the reservoir and accumulate on one side or the other away from or near the spray orifice.
  • the jet of sprayed product will be more or less loaded powdery fluid product.
  • US 2002/0190081 discloses a deformable actuating wall dispenser comprising a reservoir containing fluid which may be of the powder type.
  • the reservoir also contains a piece of porous material capable of impregnating fluid product. This piece of porous material occupies a minor part of the volume of the tank, so that powdery product can accumulate in the tank outside the porous material room. This results in an inconstancy of the spray.
  • the present invention aims to solve this problem related to the inconstancy of the spray at the outlet of the spray orifice.
  • the present invention proposes that the reservoir contains a piece of porous material, advantageously an open internal cell, which is able to impregnate with gas and fluid powder, characterized in that the piece of porous material occupies most of the volume of the tank.
  • the pulverulent fluid product is distributed in the cells in a substantially homogeneous manner spatially inside the reservoir. This avoids any accumulation of powdery fluid at a specific location in the tank.
  • the piece of porous material acts as labyrinth for the gas and the powdery fluid that it is transported.
  • the open cells of the piece of porous material are as many transport routes for the powdered fluid product conveyed by the gas under pressure.
  • the powdery fluid product In contrast to a liquid fluid product which soaks the piece of porous material by a capillary effect, the powdery fluid product is supported by the inner walls of the open cells constituting the piece of porous material, thus preventing them from accumulating by the effect of gravity. Indeed, the powdery fluid product is not sensitive to capillarity.
  • the piece of porous material is therefore not used in the manner of a soaking sponge, but on the contrary to support the fine particles constituting the pulverulent fluid product in a homogeneous manner in almost the entire reservoir to create a regular spatial distribution.
  • the piece of porous material thus serves as a stepped support means for the pulverulent fluid product which is subjected to gravity.
  • the piece of porous material extends to near the spray orifice.
  • the piece of porous material may be separated from the spray orifice by a mixing chamber.
  • the piece of porous material may be elastically deformable.
  • the piece of porous material can extend under the actuating wall so as to be deformed during the displacement of the actuating wall.
  • the piece of porous material can elastically urge the actuating wall of the reservoir to a rest position.
  • the piece of porous material occupies substantially the entire reservoir volume.
  • the piece of porous material occupies more than half, preferably 60%, and preferably 75% of the volume of the tank.
  • substantially all the pulverulent fluid product of the reservoir is impregnated into the piece of porous material.
  • the powdery fluid dispenser shown in the figures comprises four constituent elements, namely a profiled sheet 2, an opercular bottom sheet 3, a piece of porous material 4 and a nozzle 5. It is possible to dispense with the nozzle 5
  • the profiled sheet 2 forms a peripheral peripheral plane 21 and a raised central portion substantially in the form of a dome.
  • the opercular bottom sheet 3 is sealingly connected to the profiled sheet 2 at the plane periphery 21 so as to isolate the volume formed at the raised central portion.
  • the volume thus created will serve mainly as a fluid reservoir powder 23.
  • the reservoir may be constituted by a container with flexible walls.
  • This soft-walled container may be in the form of a small vial of crushable material or in the form of a flexible bag made from freely deformable sheets.
  • the tank structure is not critical for the present invention. But in the example used to illustrate the present invention and shown in the figures, the dispenser is made from two sheets welded together to form between them a fluid reservoir powder.
  • the dispensing orifice is not formed by the sheets 2 or 3, but by the tip 5 which is arranged between the two sheets 2 and 3 as can be seen more clearly on the 3.
  • the sheets 2 and 3 can for example be fixed by welding on the endpiece 5.
  • the tip 5 may be provided with welding ribs 54 for at least partially melting to improve the cohesion between the profiled sheet 2 and the nozzle 5.
  • the nozzle 5 thus forms a spray orifice 53 which communicates with the tank designated in in its non-limiting embodiment, a mixing chamber 55 is disposed immediately upstream of the spray orifice 53.
  • the fluid reservoir 23 contains a piece of porous material 4 able to impregnate pulverulent fluid product.
  • substantially all or all of the fluid product is impregnated inside this piece of porous material 4.
  • a mixing chamber 55 is provided, as is the case in Figures 2 and 3, it is may a small amount of powdery fluid be present at this level.
  • the mixing chamber 55 separates the piece of porous material 4 from the spray orifice 53. This mixing chamber 55 allows the formation of turbulences which are conducive to the transport of the pulverulent fluid product through the spray orifice 53
  • the piece of porous material 4, which is impregnated with pulverulent fluid also contains gas, by example of the air.
  • the proportion of gas contained inside the piece of porous material 4 is significantly greater than the quantity of pulverulent fluid product.
  • the piece of porous material 4 is advantageously of the open cell type, that is to say formed of an entanglement of channels which communicate with each other so that the piece of porous material 4 is permeable from one side to the other .
  • the open cells are not clogged, which allows the flow of gas to pass through the cells, thus causing the powdery fluid product towards the spray orifice 53.
  • the raised part formed by the profiled sheet 2 advantageously forms a displaceable actuating wall 22.
  • the displacement of the actuating wall is effected by deformation by exerting a driving pressure, for example at using the thumb of the hand.
  • a driving pressure for example at using the thumb of the hand.
  • the actuating wall 22 decreases the internal volume of the reservoir 23 which has the effect of putting the gas contained in the reservoir under pressure.
  • the gas is discharged towards the spray orifice 53 by carrying with it a portion of the powdery fluid product.
  • the actuating wall 22 has a shape memory allowing it to return to its rest position defining the maximum volume of the reservoir. This position is that of Figure 2. To allow the return of the actuating wall to its rest position, resilient return spring means are required.
  • These elastic return means may be directly formed by the actuating wall 22.
  • the elastic return means are generated by the piece of porous material 4 located inside the tank 23.
  • the dispenser can then be summed up in a simple piece of porous elastically deformable material included inside a deformable flexible pouch devoid of intrinsically shaped memory.
  • the tip 5 can even be omitted.
  • the spray orifice is directly formed at one of the two sheets or between the two sheets.
  • the piece of porous material 4 can occupy the entire volume of the tank 23 and extend to the direct contact of the spray orifice 53.
  • the piece of porous material 4 can occupy a smaller proportion of the tank, for example half of the tank, 60% of the tank or even 75% of the tank.
  • the piece of porous material preferably occupies most of the volume of the tank.
  • the spray orifice 53 is closed before use by a removable closure member 20 which is constituted by the profiled sheet 2 and the opercular sheet 3 welded together.
  • the removable closure member 20 may be separated from the remainder of the dispenser along a line of rupture 24 which passes just in front of the nozzle 5 at which the member 20 forms a closure wall 25 opposite the
  • the reservoir 23 is perfectly isolated from the outside. It can even be provided that the piece of porous material 4 is compressed to a state close to the maximum as the removable closure member is in place to close the spray orifice 53. In this case, it is only that at the time of removal of the removable closure member 20 that the piece of porous material 4 can relax by air entering the tank through the spray orifice 53.
  • the dispenser can thus have a particularly flat configuration or crushed before removal of the removable closure member 20.
  • the use of such a piece of porous material elastically deformable can also be used in a liquid fluid dispenser for conferring on the movable actuating wall an elastic return function towards its rest position.
