Definitions

  • the present invention relates to above-ground pools comprising at least one rigid wall supported by posts or uprights, a curb being provided on at least a portion of the periphery of the pool.
  • the main purpose of the invention is to provide improved, but simple, means for allowing the equipment of a swimming pool as mentioned above with a lip in economically acceptable conditions and whatever the constitution of the wall of the swimming pool.
  • the means used according to the invention are structurally simple, the component parts can be manufactured in large series at low cost, and these means are effective because they allow to set up, with means of assembly not or not very visible , a curb that may possibly protrude transversely beyond the wall of the pool, which is mechanically resistant and on which one can in particular support or even place a child, without being damaged.
  • the arrangements according to the invention can find an application whatever the constitution of the pool wall, and especially when the at least one wall is formed of panels which are joined one after the other by said posts.
  • the arrangements according to the invention can thus find an interesting application in the case of a pool which comprises at least one wall, then having a substantial thickness, formed of panels of wood or a material having the appearance of wood (and which can be formed for example by stacking planks) which are joined one after another by posts or amounts at least partly wood or having the appearance of wood.
  • the arrangements according to the invention can also find an application for a swimming pool which comprises a metal inner wall, an outer wall of cladding formed of panels of wood or a material having the appearance of wood, and posts with a composite structure with an inner metal part and an outer part made of wood or a material presenting the appearance of wood, said posts strutting the two walls at the same time as they fasten the panels of the outer wall one after the other , and said edge profile sections are each adapted to overlap both the inner wall and the outer wall.
  • a fortiori the provisions of the invention can be particularly interesting in the case of a double-walled pool as described in document FR 2 843 769 , which has an inner wall formed of metal panels, an outer cladding wall formed of panels of wood or a material having the appearance of wood, and posts or uprights of mixed structure with metal inner part and wooden outer part or in a material having the appearance of wood, said posts bridging the respective panels of the two walls at the same time that they solidarize one after the other, said profiled sections of coping each being adapted to overlap both an inner panel and an outer panel.
  • the double wall is a substantial thickness, or substantial, which facilitates the effective support of the lip.
  • the profiled sections of coping are made of wood or a material having the appearance of wood.
  • each flange comprises opposite lateral tabs which are adapted to engage in respective cavities of the confronting ends of two adjacent profiled sections and which are arranged to exert an elastic force in said cells to maintain said profiled sections in correct relative position in the transverse direction.
  • each flange comprises opposite lateral studs which are adapted to fit into respective cavities of the facing ends of two adjacent profiled sections so as to maintain said ends in a correct vertical relative positioning.
  • each flange has a U-shaped body with longitudinal wings whose ends are folded outwardly to form the aforesaid legs, the two legs located at a distance from one another. same end of the flange forming between them an angle substantially equal to the angle formed between them two consecutive panels of the walls.
  • it can then be provided in a simple manner, that the two longitudinal wings of each flange are pierced with at least two respective holes and that a rod is engaged through these holes protruding from both sides outwardly to the two wings, the protruding portions of the rod forming two opposing studs.
  • Such a flange may then be advantageously metallic, in particular formed by a metal plate cut-folded or formed of injected metal, so that it is mechanically resistant and can be manufactured in large series.
  • the coping can provide a casing housing to cover the connecting flange.
  • the means according to the invention may be suitable for all the configurations that it is desired to give the lip, that it extends only on a portion of the periphery of the pool or that it extends over the entire periphery .
  • an above ground pool of this type comprises an inner wall 1 formed of metal panels 2 arranged in a closed contour, in principle polygonal, this inner wall being mechanically resistant to oppose the thrust of the water, and a wall exterior 3 formed of panels 4 of wood or a material having the appearance of wood (it may be solid panels or preferably panels formed of a stack of planks), this outer wall being essentially intended for dressing.
  • Poles 5 with a mixed structure, with inner metal part 6 and outer part 7 made of wood or a material having the appearance of wood cooperate with the ends of the panels of the two walls and brace them so that the two walls remain spaced apart. from each other so that the wood or wood-like material does not come in contact with water or moisture condensation on the metal walls.
  • the inner metal part 6 of the post is in the form of a suitable conformation profile, for example a U-shaped iron which partially encloses the outer part 7 of wood or a material having the appearance of wood, and this profile metal may have an upper flap that forms a sole 8 pierced with a threaded hole 9.
  • the outer portion 7, for its part, is in the form of a profile made of a material having the appearance of wood, which profile comprises various cells 10 of longitudinal extent.
  • the term "cells" is intended to mean channels passing through the profile over the entire length thereof and opening at its two ends, or sections or blind primers of such channels dug in the vicinity of the ends of the profile.
  • the upper faces of the panels 2 and 4 and parts 6 and 7 of the post 5 are located at approximately the same level.
  • the lip which one wishes to equip the pool above is formed of profiled sections made of any suitable material, here preferably wood or a material having the appearance of wood to visually match with the cladding wall.
  • any suitable material here preferably wood or a material having the appearance of wood to visually match with the cladding wall.
  • To the figure 2 is represented the end of such a section profiled edge 11, made of a material having the appearance of wood.
  • the profile 11 comprises a plate 12 and two longitudinal wings 13 in return downwards.
  • the end face 14 reveals various cells, which can extend over the entire length of the section 11.
  • two respective cells 15 which preferably have a section of vertically elongated shape.
  • two cells 16 spaced apart from each other and having a horizontally elongated section.
  • connection arrangement of two segments of the edge as shown in the figure 2 these two sections of lip being presented spaced from each other so that other elements of the connection arrangement are visible.
  • a substantially rigid plate 17 for example in the form of a metal plate, which forms a relatively flat and stable bearing surface and of which at least the lateral dimensions may possibly be greater than those of the upper face of the pole 5.
  • a connecting flange 18 which is in the form of an elongate piece extending approximately along the bisector of the angle that form between them the two covering panels 4 and the two sections of the edge 11.
  • the connecting flange 18, which is shown in plan view at the figure 3 , comprises a U-shaped body 19 having a substantially flat bottom 20 resting on the plate 17 and two longitudinal wings 21. The ends of the wings 21 are folded outwardly and form four respective elastic tabs 22, the two tabs 22 situated at the same end of the connecting flange 18 forming between them an angle substantially equal to the angle formed by them between them. two covering panels 4 and two sections of coping 11.
  • the plate 17 and the connecting flange 18 are assembled, together, by screwing to the post 5.
  • the plate 17 is provided with holes 23 and the bottom 20 of the connecting flange 18 is provided with elongate slots 24 (for to facilitate its correct positioning) located opposite the holes 23.
  • it can be provided two holes 23 and two coincidence slots 24 which are respectively arranged to the right of the inner portion 6 and outer 7 of the pole 5.
  • a hole 23 and a lumen 24 can be aligned with the tapped hole 9 shown in FIG. figure 1 at the top of the inner portion 6 of the pole 5, while the other hole 23 and the other lumen 24 may be located opposite the solid zone 25. visible at the figure 1 in the outer part 7 of the pole 5.
  • the connecting flange 18 is equipped with studs 25 extending laterally.
  • these studs 25 are four in number, two to two opposite.
  • the wings 21 are pierced with holes vis-à-vis and two rods 26 are engaged to extend transversely, the ends of these rods projecting outwardly from the wings 21 forming the aforesaid studs 25 .
  • the connecting flange 18 is metallic, obtained for example by a cutting-folding operation and by injection molding of a metal alloy.
  • the assembly of the lip portions 11 is carried out by introducing the tabs 22 into the end cells 15, the tabs being resiliently abutting against the wall of the respective cells and leading to a correct relative positioning of the segments of the lip in the transverse direction, at the same time as the studs 25 are introduced into the aforementioned cells 16: by giving the studs 25 a diameter substantially equal to the small dimension of the cells 16, a correct relative positioning of two consecutive edge segments in the vertical direction; preferably it is also possible to ensure that the spacing of the two rods 26 is such that the pins 25 engage in the cells 16 near the respective ends thereof so as to create a mechanical stop limiting the travel capacity transversal sections of coping.
  • the two lip portions 11 are shown in the completed mounting position, the tabs 22 pressed into the cells 15 and the two sections 11 abutting against the plate 18.
  • a casing box 27 is placed on the connecting flange 18 to camouflage it.
  • the casing box 27 is formed of a metal strip shaped in correspondence with the shape of the outer contour of the plate 12 and the flanges 13 of the lip portions 11; the casing box 27 can then be screwed at 28 on tabs 29 provided at the ends of the connecting flange 18.
  • many possibilities are possible, alternatively, for finishing the connection of the two segments of the lip.
  • the arrangements just described are intended for the implementation of a wooden coping or a material having the appearance of wood on a double-walled mixed structure swimming pool such as described in the document FR 2 843 769 , with exterior cladding panels of wood or material with the appearance of wood.
  • the edge portions overlap the upper edges of the two sets of inner and outer panels 3 and 4.
  • the means proposed by the invention are not structurally related to this particular type of pool, and in particular are not related to the nature or the number of walls. Therefore, these means can also be used to position a coping on a single-walled pool (for example formed of a continuous sheet supported by the posts or formed of metal panels joined by the poles), a fortiori if this single wall is relatively thick (eg wooden wall or the like formed of a stack of planks).
  • the effective implementation of the invention is more related to the section of the posts which must be sufficient, especially in the radial direction, to be able to support the plate 17 and the connecting flange 18 by screwing.
  • the coping may have a cantilevered door, particularly towards the outside: the assembly and assembly means according to the invention may be suitable in such a case to support the rim effectively.
