  • the upper part 30B of the control rod 30 has an external thread screwed into a thread internal of the gland ring 38.
  • the lower part 30A of the control rod 30 is provided with the sealing ring 32 but it is noted that the seal ring could be worn according to another embodiment by the element tubular 36 and the sealing seat could be formed on the lower part 30A of the control rod 30.
  • the part 30A of the control rod is provided with a extension 46 which extends down into the part of longitudinal passage 22 formed in the base 16 for a purpose which will be further explained in greater detail below.

  • the second 16-2 net has a base diameter that is a little bigger the maximum outer diameter of the first cone thread 16-1 and the second net 16-2 has a finer pitch than the first net 16-1 but in the same sense as this one.

However, for tightening the ring 62 it can also have a hexagonal outer shape or any other appropriate form. Passes 62-5 may be radial holes located between the two opposite ends of the ring 62, or radial grooves (not shown) formed in the lower surface of the ring 62.
  • the internal diameter of the part lower 62-3 of the clamping ring 62 is only slightly larger than the maximum external diameter of the conical thread 16-1 and substantially equal thereto. It is enough that the inner diameter of the lower part 62-3 of the clamping ring 62 is a little larger than the diameter external peak of the 16-1 conical thread to allow axial displacement of the ring 62 on the base 16 for the mounting and disassembly of the valve 10.
  • the minimum diameter internal thread 62-2 of the ring 62 is a bit bigger the maximum external diameter of the 16-1 conical thread.
  • the ring 62 is well bent around the base 16 and tight against the C-neck of the cylinder in order to protect the base 16 and prevent its deformation or tearing of the nets in the event of a violent side impact applied to the tap 10 which can cause it to bend or cut at the point of the weakening zone (groove 18).
  • the clamping ring 62 can be used in a valve 10 with or without the active flap 52. Instead of the flapper active 52 a non-active valve may be provided, as described above.
  • the presence of the clamping ring 62 preventing leakage by the threads around the base 16 is very advantageous in combination with the use of the active check valve 52 or non-active because the benefit obtained by the check valve restraint 52 would be at least partially wiped out if after sectioning of the valve body 12 the contents of the cylinder would be prevented from escaping through the flow passage normal 22 of the base 16 but that a leak would nevertheless be possible around the base 16 by the threads of the base 16 and neck C of the cylinder.
  • the construction of the main primary valve 26 and the construction of the check valve 52 are not essential and instead of the particular constructions described previously and shown in the figure for valve 26 and the flap 52, any other embodiment can be provided for the valve 26 and also for the valve 52.
  • the ring tightening 62 is placed around the base 16 and screwed on the second net 16-2 until it is in a axial position (indicated by dotted lines at the top of the ring 62 in the single figure) relative to the base 16 in which it does not prevent the application of a couple at the base 16 for the connection of the valve 10 to the cylinder, and after having screwed and tightened the base 16 of the tap 10 in the threaded hole in the neck C of the cylinder by the application of a predetermined tightening torque the ring 62 is tightened against the neck of the cylinder by applying a predetermined torque to the ring 62.
