Description

The present invention relates to a brushing machine intended to be moved on a surface for cleaning, the machine comprising a pair of hinged flanges mounted between which is mounted a rotary cleaning brush adapted to be rotated through a hydraulic motor, the flanges being driven by means of at least one hydraulic cylinder adapted to change the position of the rotary brush relative to said machine.

It is intended to be used, for example, for cleaning urban roads, waste land or farm buildings.

A brushing machine for cleaning approximately flat and horizontal surfaces generally comprises a frame provided with wheels adapted to allow its movement on said surface and in which is mounted a cylindrical rotary brush whose axis of rotation is arranged parallel to the ground and which can be rotated, via a drive motor, during the movement of said machine on the ground. A tray, placed in the rear part of the machine, allows to recover the dirt removed by the brush.

Because of the repeated friction on the ground, the brush finishes, over time, to wear so that its outer diameter decreases progressively resulting in a corollary a gradual decrease in the cleaning efficiency.

Furthermore, the surface of the soil to be cleaned is not always flat or has deformations resulting in variable efficiency of cleaning.

Also, it appeared useful to provide a height displacement of the brush so as to maintain it bears on the surface to be cleaned, when said machine rests with its wheels on the surface, to compensate for its wear or unevenness of the ground or even to overcome the presence of a protuberance on the ground.

Some brushing machines are thus provided with devices for adjusting the vertical position of the wheels making it possible to lower or raise the machines towards the ground and consequently to adjust the distance separating the axis of rotation of the brushes relative to on the ground.

Other machines are, for the same purpose, provided with adjusting devices in height of the position of the axis of the brushes vis-à-vis the frame of the machine, for example by means of adjusting cranks.

Finally, other machines are, in order to automatically adjust the height position of their brush vis-à-vis the ground, provided with compensation devices. Such a brushing machine may thus comprise a cradle mounted to be hinged to the frame of the machine for floatingly supporting the rotating brush against a spring. The brushing machine can still, as described in the document EP-A-1 152 089 , comprise an articulated arm on the frame of the machine and which supports at its free end the axis of the brush driven by an electric motor. An electric jack, assisted by a spring device, is mounted on the machine so as to change the inclination of the arm and therefore the height position of the brush relative to the ground on which the machine rests.

A sensor of the current consumption of the electric motor for driving the brush and a control unit are provided in the machine to control the operation of the electric jack adapted to move the articulated arm. When the instantaneous intensity of the current consumed by the electric motor is within a predetermined range, only the spring device acts to apply a pressing force on said brush. When this intensity is outside the predetermined range, the control unit of the machine controls the operation of the electric cylinder so that it can lower the brush or raise it.

Although the compensation device of this machine may be able to raise and lower the brush automatically, the force exerted by the spring device on the brush is not constant over the stroke of the device, so that the cleaning efficiency is not constant. Furthermore, there is a sudden reactivity of the movement of the articulated arm generated by the operation of the electric actuator operating by pulses.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a brushing machine whose brush can be applied to the floor to be cleaned at a constant effort regardless of its degree of wear or whatever the relief of the surface to be cleaned.

For this purpose, there is provided a brushing machine intended to be moved on a surface for cleaning, the machine comprising a pair of flanges hingedly mounted on said machine and between which is mounted a rotary cleaning brush adapted to be driven into rotation by means of a hydraulic motor, the flanges being driven by means of at least one hydraulic jack adapted to modify the position of the rotary brush relative to the machine, said machine being remarkable in that the circuit of the hydraulic motor is connected respectively to the upstream and downstream chambers of said or each hydraulic cylinder so that said or each hydraulic jack can apply the rotating brush on the surface to be cleaned by exerting on it a force of constant intensity in a particular range of pressure measured in the intake circuit of the hydraulic motor.

Thus, the rotating brush can follow automatically and flexibly the relief of the surface to be cleaned during the movement of the brushing machine on said surface. The surface cleaning efficiency is increased and the wear of the brush is reduced compared to the services provided by known brushing machines. The machine adapts automatically, during its operation, to the diameter of the brush that it uses or to its degree of wear, as well as to the asperities of the ground.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, a distributor is connected to the feed circuit of the downstream chamber of said or each hydraulic cylinder, the distributor being provided with a pre-actuator with a threshold control. fluid pressure which is connected to the intake circuit of the hydraulic motor so that the elevation of the pressure in the intake circuit of the hydraulic pump beyond a determined threshold can control the piloting of the distributor so as to that the downstream chamber of said or each hydraulic cylinder can be placed in communication with the intake circuit of the hydraulic motor to raise the rotating brush.

The brush is thus automatically positioned in a release position when it encounters an obstacle or when it is overloaded.

Advantageously, an adjustment means is provided on the pre-actuator to modify the pressure threshold causing its triggering.

According to an additional feature of the invention, an alarm is associated with the triggering of the pre-actuator thus making it possible to warn the operator using the machine that an overload problem has occurred in the operation of the brush.

Avantageusement le distributeur est un distributeur proportionnel.Advantageously the distributor is a proportional distributor.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the brushing machine is provided with a control member, located in the cabin of an engine for maneuvering it, and which makes it possible to act on the operating pressure of said or of each hydraulic cylinder. In this way, it is possible to act on the application pressure of the brush on the surface to be cleaned.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the machine comprises two parts articulated with respect to each other, the first part including the rotary brush, the second part including a soil collection device, a maneuvering means being provided for moving the first portion relative to the second portion between a working position of the brushing machine where the rotating brush is adapted to spray dirt into the collection device and an opening position of said machine for draining the collection. The operation of the brushing machine in one or other of these positions is thus assisted.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the machine is provided with a torsion limiting device intended to limit the angular offset between the two flanges during operation of said brushing machine.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the torsion limiting device consists of a pair of toothed wheels meshing respectively with racks made on one of the edges of the flanges and which are connected by means of a torsion shaft.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the machine is provided with handling devices intended to allow a self-propelled land vehicle to push, pull or lift.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the rotary brush is provided with a hollow hub fixed at its ends to the flanges by means of plates. The hollow hub advantageously has a polygonal section and around which is threaded the rotating brush and at least one vertex has a groove adapted to receive a lug provided in a hollow tube constituting the rotating brush to allow its driving in rotation.

Advantageously, the hollow hub is internally provided, and at one end, a shaft held by a rolling means, mounted in a sleeve of a plate, its other end being provided with a drive nut in which is mounted a splined shaft of the hydraulic motor fixed in a sleeve of the other plate for rotating the rotating brush, the shaft passing through the hollow hub so that its other end can be accommodated in the drive nut.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the machine is provided with a first scraper mounted between the rotating brush and the collection device to improve the separation of dirt retained on the rotating brush to allow their ejection into the collection device. The scraper also optimizes the scraping of the brush by preventing pile formation when the brush is raised.

Advantageously, the first scraper consists of a rectangular blade fixed between a pair of plates and one edge can be positioned so as to tangentially the bristles of the rotating brush.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the machine is provided with a second scraper disposed inside the brushing machine to allow the automatic cleaning of the rotating brush when the brushing machine is lifted by the machine and that the rotating brush is rotated by its drive motor.

According to an additional feature of the invention, the machine is provided with at least one additional brush.

The brushing machine 100 shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is intended to be driven by a self-propelled land vehicle such as an agricultural tractor on a surface to be cleaned, for example a roadway, to remove soil that may have deposited on said surface. It is provided with a frame 110 supported by wheels 112 capable of allowing the machine 100 to move on said surface by the machine.

The chassis 110 consists of two parts A and B articulated to each other by means of a hinge 114. The part A mainly comprises a rotary brush 130 which is designed to remove frictionally dirt on a surface to be cleaned, while the part B mainly comprises a dirt collection device 150 such as a tray.

The two parts A and B are movable, under the action of an operating means 120, between a working position of the brushing machine 100 where the part A communicates directly with the part B, as it appears in FIG. Fig.4 , so that the rotating brush 130 can, during its rotation, projecting the dirt in the tray 150, and an open position of said machine visible to the Fig. 8 allowing the emptying of the tray 150, the internal cleaning of the brushing machine 100. The operating means 120 is advantageously constituted to the Figs. 1 and 2 by a pair of hydraulic cylinders taking on joints provided respectively on the two parts A and B.

To the Fig. 4 Part A thus consists of two lateral flanks 116 joined by an upper wall 117 and between which the rotary brush 130 is mounted. Part B also consists of two lateral flanks 118 joined by a bottom 119, the lateral flanks 118 or the bottom 119 constituting the tank 150. The parts A and B are open at their junction zone so that the dirt recovered by the rotary brush 130 can be transferred to the tank 150 of the part B when the two parts A and B are positioned in the working position of the brushing machine 100.

The frame 110 comprises handling members 122, such as transverse bars arranged at the ends of the parts A and / or B, between their respective lateral sides 116 and 118 to allow the machine to push said brushing machine 100, the pull and possibly lift it so that it can not touch the ground so that it can be moved quickly, to empty the tank 150 or clean it internally.

A cradle 124 allowing attachment to a machine provided with lifting means can be associated in a floating manner with the handling members 122 so that the machine can push or pull the brushing machine 100 so that it can rest on the ground by its wheels 112 only under the effect of its own mass. The cradle 124 is designed, however, to allow the machine to lift the brushing machine 100. The cradle 124 advantageously comprises a frame 125 attached to two handling members 122 and traversed transversely by two floating bars mounted in lights 126 of a set of plates 127 adapted to be fixed on the machine.

To the Fig. 2 a pair of flanges 160 is hingedly mounted by means of hinges 162 provided respectively on the flanks 116 of the part A, to pivotably support the rotary brush 130. The flanges 160 are preferably mounted on the faces. outer flanks 116 of part A, as shown in this Fig. 2 .

A la Fig. 3, la brosse rotative 130 est pourvue d'un moyeu creux 132 fixé par ses extrémités aux flasques 160 par l'intermédiaire de platines 180, 180'.To the Fig. 3 , the rotary brush 130 is provided with a hollow hub 132 fixed at its ends to the flanges 160 by means of plates 180, 180 '.

Each plate 180, 180 'consists of a sleeve 182, 182' fixed against a flange 160 and mounted in one end of the hollow hub 132 to support rotation.

The hollow hub 132 is thus provided internally, and at one end, with a shaft 184 held by a rolling means R, such as a ball bearing, mounted in the sleeve 182 of the plate 180, while its other end is provided with a drive nut 186 in which is mounted the spline shaft of a drive means 140 such as a hydraulic motor, fixed in the sleeve 182 'of the other plate 180', for the rotational drive of the rotary brush 130. It will be noted that the shaft 184 passes through the hollow hub 132 so that its other end can be housed in the drive nut 186.

The hollow hub 132 advantageously has a polygonal section, for example a hexagon, and around which is threaded the rotating brush and at least one vertex has a groove 132 adapted to receive a lug 136 provided in a hollow tube 138 constituting the rotating brush 130.

An operating means 170, such as a pair of hydraulic cylinders, is used to move the rotary brush 130 between a working position where it can be placed on the surface to be cleaned as shown in FIG. Fig. 2 and a release position where it is retracted into part A as shown in Fig. 8 . To the Figs. 2 and 3 each jack 170 is articulated to this effect, on the one hand, on a first articulation 172 provided on each sidewall 116 and, secondly, on a second articulation 174 provided on each flange 160. It will be noted that in these Figs., the joints 172 are common to those used by the hydraulic cylinders of the operating means 120 to open the brushing machine 100.

However, to avoid twisting forces that may prematurely wear the brush holding members, that is to say, the bearing R, the drive nut 186, the bearings of the hydraulic motor 140, the brushing machine 100 may be provided with a torsion limiting device 200, shown at Fig. 2 , and intended to limit the angular offset between the two flanges 160 during operation of said brushing machine 100. The torsion limiting device 200 advantageously consists of a pair of gear wheels 210 meshing respectively on racks 212 made on the one of the edges of the flanges 160 and which are connected by means of a torsion shaft 214 supported by bearings passing through the lateral flanks 118 of the part B. The angular offset of the flanges 160 is thus limited by the torsion of the torsion shaft 214 during operation of the brushing machine 100.

To facilitate the separation of dirt retained on the rotary brush 130 and thus allow their ejection into the tray 150, a first scraper 230 visible to the Fig. 4 , is mounted between the rotating brush 130 and the tray 150.

It advantageously consists of a rectangular blade fixed between a pair of plates mounted free to pivot along an axis parallel to that of the rotary brush 130 being disposed in the lower part of the part A. The positioning of the blade is such that one of its edges can be arranged so that it can tangentially the bristles of the rotary brush 130. A clamping device, such as bolts, can clamp the pair of plates against the flanges 116 in position.

A second scraper 240 is disposed inside the part A, in its lower and front part, to allow the automatic cleaning of the rotary brush 130 when the brushing machine 100 is lifted from the ground by the machine and the brush The second scraper 240 also optimizes the operation of the rotary brush 130 and also makes it possible to limit the formation of a pile under the machine after stopping the operation of the brush. . The second scraper 240 is made up of Fig. 4 a rectangular blade disposed parallel to the axis of the rotary brush 130.

The brushing machine 100 may be provided with at least one additional brush 250, advantageously driven by a hydraulic motor, and fixed on a flank 116 of the part A. Positioning means, such as a plurality of orifices can clamp said or each additional brush in a suitable position, for example to clear curbs of curbs.

The set of hydraulic motors and all the hydraulic cylinders of the brushing machine 100 are intended to be connected for the operation of said machine to the hydraulic circuit of the machine by means of hoses not shown.

We have shown Fig. 5 the hydraulic diagram for connecting the operating and driving members of a brush of a brushing machine. A distributor T1, for example a 4/2 type distributor, is provided on a machine N handling the brushing machine for dispensing hydraulic fluid under pressure to different hydraulic members of said brushing machine.

Ainsi, lorsque le distributeur T1 est actionné par un opérateur, un moteur hydraulique M de l'engin N alimente le moteur hydraulique 140 qui entraîne alors la brosse rotative 130.The intake and the exhaust of the hydraulic motor 140 are respectively connected to the output ports of the distributor T1. Thus, when the distributor T1 is actuated by an operator, a hydraulic motor M of the machine N feeds the hydraulic motor 140 which then drives the rotary brush 130.

A branch circuit connected to the exhaust circuit of the hydraulic motor 140 is connected, on the one hand, to the upstream chambers of the hydraulic cylinders 170 and, on the other hand, to the downstream chambers of said cylinders, for example, via of a second distributor T2, such as a distributor type 3/2, so that the residual pressure of the exhaust circuit of the hydraulic pump 140 is applied to the upstream and downstream chambers of the hydraulic cylinders 170, that is to say that is to say on both sides of the pistons hydraulic cylinders 170.

Since the surfaces exposed to the pressure of the upstream and downstream fluid of the pistons are different because of the presence of maneuvering rods mounted on their downstream faces, the hydraulic cylinders 170 can thus apply laterally to said rotary brush 130 constant intensity forces. Under these conditions, when the brushing machine is moved in a path indicated by the arrow C on a non-perfectly flat surface as it appears in FIG. Fig. 6 , the rotary brush 130 whose rotational movement is indicated by the arrow D follows automatically and instantly the profile of the surface that it sweeps, following the movement indicated by the arrow E. Moreover, the operation of the machine of Brushing automatically adapts to the rotating brush size that is mounted or its degree of wear.

It will be noted that Fig. 5 , the distributor T2 is provided with a pre-actuator P controlled fluid pressure threshold which is connected to the intake circuit of the hydraulic motor 140. By this construction of the hydraulic circuit, an abnormal increase in pressure, exceeding a threshold determined in the hydraulic motor intake circuit 140, for example following a jamming of the brush 130 or when said brush encounters an obstacle, causes the piloting of the pre-actuator P which thus controls the distributor T1. It then connects the downstream chambers of the hydraulic cylinders 170 to the intake circuit of the hydraulic motor 140.

As the intake pressure of the hydraulic pump 140 is still substantially greater than that of the exhaust pressure, the rods of the cylinders rise, thus driving the rotary brush 130 inside the part A as it appears in FIG. Fig. 7 . In this Fig., The rotating brush 130 rises in a release position, following the direction indicated by the arrow E, following its meeting with an obstacle O.

The triggering of the distributor T2 by its pre-actuator P is used to trigger an alarm, for example a visual alarm, to inform the operator of a problem related to the operation of the rotary brush 130.

The pressure threshold at which the activation of the pre-actuator P occurs can be modified, for example by means of a set screw provided on the pre-actuator P or by the replacement of setting springs.

Lorsque la pression d'admission descend au-dessous du seuil déterminé, le pré-actionneur P commande en sens inverse le distributeur T2, si bien que la brosse 130 est à nouveau appliquée par les vérins hydrauliques 170 sur la surface à nettoyerWhen the intake pressure falls below the determined threshold, the pre-actuator P in the opposite direction the distributor T2, so that the brush 130 is again applied by the hydraulic cylinders 170 on the surface to be cleaned

In an alternative embodiment, not shown, the distributor T2 is a proportional distributor.

To illustrate these remarks concerning the hydraulic operation of the brushing members, there is shown on the abscissa, in the diagram visible on the Fig. 9 , the intake pressure R measured in the intake circuit of the rotary drive motor of the rotary brush and the ordinate the force F provided by the operating means of the rotary brush. It can be seen that for a particular pressure range G, the force supplied by the operating means is substantially constant while it decreases below this range and increases beyond this range.

The brushing machine is advantageously provided with a control member, located in the cab of the operating machine, and which makes it possible to act on the operating pressure of said or each hydraulic cylinder for operating the rotary brush. In this way, it is possible to act on the application pressure of the brush on the surface to be cleaned in order to adapt it to the nature of said surface.

The operation of the brushing machine will now be described. The brushing machine is coupled to a machine and the hoses are connected to the hydraulic circuit of the machine. The brushing machine is then taken by the machine on a surface to be cleaned possibly raised from the ground for transport. The operator then operates the distributor T1, which causes the rotary brush 130 to be rotated, while the hydraulic cylinders 170 apply said brush on the ground by exerting a constant force on it. During the movement of the brushing machine 100 on the surface to be cleaned, the rotary brush 130 removes dirt from the surface and then projects them into the tank 150, assisted by the scraper 230. Moreover, the rotary brush 130 rises and lowers automatically and instantly to follow the relief of said surface. In addition to its vertical movement, the brush 130 can also be laterally inclined to adapt to the edge deformations of said surface.

Too much work of the rotary brush 130 automatically engenders its raising in the brushing machine 100 and the operator can be warned. If the cause of the excess work of the brush is an obstacle, the brush gets up and then resumes its working position after crossing the obstacle.

When the tray 150 is filled with detritus, the operator controls the interruption of the operation of the brush 130 and then moves the brushing machine 100 to an unloading area to empty the tray 150. It controls for this purpose the operation of the hydraulic cylinders 120 to move the parts A and B into the open position of the brushing machine 100. In this open position, the hydraulic cylinders 170 push the brush towards the second scraper 240 which thus cleans said brush during its rotation.

In an alternative embodiment, not shown, a hydraulic flow divider block can be connected to the hydraulic cylinders, replacing the torsion limiting device, to limit the angular offset between the two flanges 160 during operation of said brushing machine 100.

The brushing machine of the invention allows automatic adaptation of the position of its brush on the surface to be cleaned. It automatically adjusts the position of the brush according to its size or degree of wear.

The high reactivity of the rotary brush movement significantly increases the cleaning efficiency of the brushing machine and also reduces the wear of said brush.

In case of overload of the rotating brush, it automatically rises to a release position and the operator is warned.

The adjustment of the pressure of the brush on the surface to be cleaned can be adjusted depending on the nature of the coating from a control member installed in the cabin of the machine.
