Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hearing aid according to the Preamble of claim 1.
- Such hearing aids are in a variety different types known, being common to genus between outside of the ear arranged hearing aids, in-ear hearing aids as well as implants.
- at the programmable hearing aids become basic settings as well as functions by respective settings resp. Programming the individual requirements and Adapted to user requirements. This is done during an adjustment phase during which the user in the Usually during several sessions with the audiologist (resp. Hörtechnikakustiker) the hearing aid respectively set resp. is adjusted.
- the user becomes full functional hearing aid delivered, in which regardless of the intended use, such as for example, selective partial selection of functions, all functionality is open.
- the use of software keys can also be strong miniaturized hearing aids are provided, but sets always one to the corresponding, individualized hearing aid belonging key.
- the storage and use Such a key places high demands on it Regarding logistics as well as handling. Especially with larger maintenance intervals or during Changing the location of the user can cause problems lost, forgotten or no longer available Keys occur, the replacement of at least the Programming modules require, if a lock or Activation of a function becomes necessary.
- DE 199 16 900 describes how the activation respectively. Deactivation of a function by a time counter is triggered, i. after the expiration of a predefined time an action is triggered, for example an additional one Function is activated or deactivated. Such
- time-based specifications are currently being introduced Adjustment process are and are a strong limitation too little flexibility for different requirements to be able to cover.
- the object of the present invention consists in to find a hearing aid that is a simple but flexible activation or blocking of individual or all Functions allowed.
- a hearing aid with at least a programmable signal processing device for temporary or permanent activation resp. deactivation of functions of the hearing aid at least one counter for the Detection of discrete operations available.
- Next is at least one assigned to such a process Threshold stored, and the counter with the Signal processing device connected such that at Reaching or exceeding this threshold by the Counter one on the signal processing device directed action is triggered.
- the hearing aid works according to its predetermined resp. programmed Functions without restrictions. Only when crossing of the threshold, an action is triggered, which is a Effect on the signal processing device, and thus any, adjustable response of the Hearing device triggers.
- This reaction can now be considered as a kind of Theft protection can be used by the Functionality of the hearing aid impaired, disturbed or even impossible. This requires the user with this Hearing instrument mandatory to the audiologist, who the hearing aid delivered or to a suitably equipped Get the service point of the hearing aid supplier to the To restore functionality or another Hearing aid shipped.
- each of these counters is a specific threshold assigned.
- a threshold assigned to the need of the Audiologists.
- the Audiologists do not just define a threshold, but at most defines several such thresholds be, wherein when exceeding the first threshold the intended action is triggered.
- the counter has a reset function and After the action has been triggered, the relevant counter will be activated reset again. This can be a temporary action be triggered, which after triggering the correspondingly limited functionality independently reactivated again. This prevents that Hearing aid for the user fails permanently, but through the always repeating temporary ones Nevertheless, he will take action to become an audiologist Either completely remove functionality or definitely to activate.
- a reset circuit is further provided, which activates one, several or all counters resets. Resetting one or more counters can be done either hard wired, like already described, or it may have its own reset circuit be provided for this purpose.
- Such a circuit can be designed advantageously programmable, so that For example, the reset intervals by lowering the respective thresholds can be shortened.
- the Circuit can either be used as a stand-alone circuit Modular form be formed, or part of the Form hearing aid software and as a pure software solution be educated.
- the reset circuit is with the on / off switch coupled the hearing aid and preferably as Software circuit trained.
- the most effective means for Theft protection has turned off completely respectively. Turning off the hearing aid proven. It can do that Hearing only temporarily switched off, i. it can then turned on again by the user or the software can be permanently disabled be so that the hearing aid without intervention by the Audiologists or a service center is no longer used can be resp. no longer be put into operation can.
- the thresholds are in a nonvolatile state Memory area of the hearing aid stored. Stay that way the thresholds even with a longer battery failure or removing the battery stored indefinitely and can not be easily influenced by the user. This is particularly important if the user relative large intervals are granted, in which high Probability the battery of the hearing aid replaced Need to become.
- the counter is a pure software counter in the signal processing device formed.
- the meter can be considered part of the already existing software will be realized.
- the discrete operations are turning on the hearing aid and / or changing the battery and / or falling below a certain voltage level of the Battery and / or the number of program changes Hearing aid software and / or the number of feedback detections and / or the number of activities mechanical, electrical, magnetic or chemical Interfaces recorded on the hearing aid itself.
- This list covers some typical for a hearing aid operations, which on the one hand, in the adaptation phase of a new one Hearing aid are relevant, and on the other hand for the Testing of further, later possibly paid unlocked functions of the hearing aid of importance are. This allows the audiologist without cost risk the User certain possible functions for testing unlock which of these subsequently either Charge permanently unlock, or which will be automatically locked again without one further visit to the audiologist would be necessary.
- the discrete events are exceeded recorded at certain times, preferably measured in Reference to a timer in the hearing aid and / or to the Hearing aid transmitted from an external device.
- This can not only be a pure time interval, but the number of reaching certain time intervals as Threshold be used. This can either on a possibly used in the hearing aid integrated clock or on an external timer, like For example, a radio clock with an always accurate Time specification.
- the blocking is preferably carried out as a directed action part or all of the hearing aid software. If only part of the software gets locked, loses that Hearing aid while a part of its functionality, but can still a part of its basic function (for example the Reinforcement of the microphone signal) meet, and so that the Allow users to wait until the next appointment Audiologists do not completely dispense with the hearing aid have to. When completely locking all software the hearing aid is rendered virtually unusable until it is by an audiologist or a service center with the necessary for this device to be activated again can.
- the activation takes place as directed action an additional beep or noise, preferably permanent, periodic or random.
- an additional beep or noise preferably permanent, periodic or random.
- the user an acoustic Indication of reaching a threshold value.
- This audible signal could be in place of the beep or noise also an identifiable announcement include an exact identification or Description of the corresponding threshold includes.
- the reduction takes place as directed action amplification or elimination of amplification.
- the basic functionality of the hearing aid remains as before received, but through the reduction of reinforcement fulfills the hearing aid for the user only very much limited (i.e., in a smaller number of Listening situations) his task.
- the directional action is burnout one or more backups. This will be a permanent elimination of one, several or all Functions of the hearing aid causes, which only through Repair by the audiologist or a service center can be reversed by the appropriate affected fuse is replaced.
- the directed action becomes permanent or temporarily triggered.
- the Device by the user himself without intervention by the user Audiologists or a service point can be reused, for example, by switching the hearing aid off / on.
- this also remains later recognizable for the audiologist or the service center, be it by turning off the functionality of the hearing aid or by storing a corresponding identifier for example, in the non-volatile memory of the hearing aid, which by the audiologist or the service point can be read out.
- the present invention is not only on hearing aids of the type mentioned for compensation or correcting a hearing loss. Rather lets the invention also use for any hearing aids, which serve to improve communication.
- FIG. 1 the scheme of an inventive Hearing aid shown.
- a signal processing device 1 is with a microphone 2 and a speaker. 3 connected.
- the recorded via the microphone 2 sound is processed by the signal processing device 1 and finally reproduced via the loudspeaker 3.
- This representation is purely schematic and strong simplifies the basic process of recording and Playback of audio signals in hearing aids.
- a counter 4 the signal processing device 1 can act to to influence their functionality. This influence will According to the invention always take place when the counter. 4 reaches or exceeds a certain threshold.
- the counter 4 may, for example, as a separate Electronics module be formed, or for example in a programmable module as a software counter resp. when be formed pure software circuit.
- any, quantifiable processes in resp. collected around the hearing aid and compared with the associated threshold are stored.
- the resp. Turn off this basic functionality, i. the activation of resp. the counter 4, is advantageous by a service center or by the audiologist, for example, with the software for customizing the Hearing aid, as with conventional, programmable Hearing aids is common.
- the activation resp. deactivation the counter 4 by this software can additionally by a Password secured.
- Another advantage of this device is that the action of the counter 4 on the Signal processing device 1 more durable or temporary nature.
- a permanent Exposure becomes the functionality of the hearing aid permanently restricted or completely switched off. For example this can be achieved by permanent destruction of hearing aid components, such as by burning through of fuses, done. The hearing aid must thus to regain its functionality in one Service station to be repaired.
- a permanent identifier of the achievement resp. crossing a threshold value of a counter 4 can be advantageous by Storage of a corresponding key figure in the non-volatile memory of the hearing aid done. By This can be read in the corresponding memory area Afterwards by the audiologist or in the service center simply be detected.
- the Functionality limitation for example by the Users themselves be repealed. This can for example, by switching off / on the hearing aid carried out or by operation of a designated Switch.
- a switch can either be on Hearing aid itself or possibly by a for the Hearing device provided remote control can be simulated.
- the functionality will be waived, but the user, for example, acoustically a signal or a spoken message, which are based on the Reaching or exceeding a threshold value indicates.
- This is basically the functionality of the Hearing aid is not affected, which in particular the comfort or not use for the user but the user becomes a permanent one Use with these messages as disturbing.
- the threshold in Dependence of reaching the threshold changed become.
- the threshold after each Reach resp. Exceeded exceeded by the counter become. This will be repeated, multiple times Exceeding the threshold value is a function of Hearing aid possibly switched off permanently.
- the hearing aid according to the invention thus allows the audiologist and, if necessary, the service point, while respecting its legitimate business interests for the fitting phase to provide functioning hearing aid and possibly also To offer test and / or demonstration devices.
- especially with temporary exposure to one strong impairment to the user can be avoided who has enough time, the state without or only with small restrictions of use by the audiologist or to fix a service point.
