Definitions
- the present invention relates to a swimming pool shutter consisting of a series of profile assemblies connected to each other on the length by a flexible connecting element, each set being consisting of two rigid longitudinal extreme profiles and at least a rigid longitudinal central section.
- Shutters suspended from rails generally provide a insulation against poor heat loss.
- U.S. Patent 3,683,428 counteracts all these disadvantages by offering a floating insulating shutter that holds up while supporting the inevitable small waves of the water surface thanks to the flexible connections and which is easy to use and easy to handle on a daily basis, thus favoring its use and avoiding "long periods of dormancy".
- this component even if it is available in pre-assembled units is that it does not provide a easy installation for the skilled person, who must lay the slats on water and cut them to the width of the pool before assembling them.
- the assembly of the fasteners on the slice of the slats of the shutter, the synchronization of the alternation of the fasteners between the pre-assembled units to keep folding the accordion shutter and then still laying the flexible membrane on the top of the tie between two successive lamellae are complicated and painful tasks for the skilled person.
- the manufacture of such a component requires various operations such as the manufacture of slats, the preparation of pre-assembly, manufacture of fasteners and membranes flexible and packaging in mounting kit.
- An object of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages, while providing the same benefits, by providing a pool flap in the form of assemblies of pre-assembled profiles whose installation does not requires easier intervention, and the manufacture and preparation are simplified.
- the invention provides a pool flap characterized in that said rigid end sections respectively comprise a male longitudinal end and a female longitudinal end, said rigid longitudinal end profiles of two sets consecutive assemblies are assembled by a sealed interlocking complementary male and female ends, said connecting element flexible between said profiles is a flexible polymer having a interface on each side with the rigid profile.
- the assembly of the shutter according to the invention therefore implies an easy size (to the width of the pool) of several profiles in once and a simple nesting for the skilled person.
- the manufacture of the swimming pool shutter according to the invention is a step relatively simple, for example, that includes only one step molding and more particularly extrusion.
- the forced nesting tightness of the complementary ends avoids any accumulation of limestone or algae that could occur.
- the hollow slats constituting the shutter must be cut either oblique or staircase.
- the slats are cut obliquely, it is impossible to plug the ends with prefabricated shutter elements, because depending on the angle of cut, the plugs must have different dimensions.
- This approximation used to follow the curvature of the edge of the pool present, besides the disadvantage of complicating the closure of the slats, another major disadvantage. Slats slipped into each other during assembly are not attached to each other. As soon as cut is made and that the slats are assembled, they are always free for a back-and-forth movement.
- these lamellae are provided in clear plastic at the top surface (in contact with atmosphere) and black plastic at the bottom surface (in contact with the water).
- This arrangement of two colors of plastic allows you to enjoy a greenhouse effect to warm the pool water.
- the fact that the plastic of the upper surface of the shutter is transparent also causes algae growth in the profiles when the ends of the hollow lamellae are not clogged and at the level of the assembly area and the appearance of condensation. This accumulation of algae occurs in places inaccessible to cleaning, night aesthetics and presents a risk of contamination of the water of the swimming pool.
- the swimming pool flap according to the invention does not suffer from a accumulation of algae at the assembly area.
- the assembly of the shutter according to the invention is a forced interlocking which provides a sealed assembly area in which no accumulation of algae and limestone is not possible.
- the join having role of resisting the movement of waves on the surface of the water is not ensured in the pool flap according to the invention by assembling the male and female housings but by the flexible connecting elements between the longitudinal rigid sections.
- the sets of sections connected to each other by said flexible connecting element are obtained by molding and preferably by extrusion.
- At least one of said rigid profiles longitudinal members having a first surface (Sa) and a second surface (SE) located on either side of the horizontal plane joining the flexible connecting elements, will present said first surface less than said second surface.
- said rigid sections central and, preferably, the extreme rigid profiles also will have a first surface smaller than the second surface. This asymmetry in the surfaces allows the rigid profiles to play the role solar collectors and warm the pool water.
- Rigid profiles used in the pool flap according to the invention will be hollow or solid and preferably made of polyvinyl chloride. vinyl.
- the flexible link elements will, for their part, preferably polyurethane.
- the aforementioned materials are suitable materials very well the manufacture of rigid profiles and flexible membranes, especially in the context of coextrusion and particularly suitable well to the application of the pool flap according to the invention.
- a preferred embodiment of a set of sections according to the invention is represented by a sectional view in FIG. set includes solid profiles connected to each other on the length by a flexible connecting element (2).
- the set is composed two rigid longitudinal sections (3, 4) and one succession of 5 rigid longitudinal central sections (1).
- Profiles rigid extremities (3, 4) respectively have one end longitudinal male (3) and a female longitudinal end (4).
- the assembly of such assemblies is illustrated in FIG. rigid longitudinal extremes (3, 4) of two consecutive sets are assembled by a forced sealing engagement (5) ends male (3) and female (4) complementary.
- FIG. 2 furthermore presents the assembly of the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1 in which the surfaces lying side of the horizontal plane joining the flexible connecting elements are not identical.
- the surface in contact with the water Se (surface lower than that defined above) is greater than the surface in contact with the atmosphere Sa (upper surface with respect to audit plan).
- the sun heats to a temperature Ta, the Sa surface that plays in this case the role of absorption surface of the heat.
- the rigid profiles will preferably be dark in color increase the heat absorption capabilities of rigid profiles.
- the water temperature designated here Te is below the temperature of the air of the atmosphere Ta during the day. This temperature gradient creates a heat flux that moves to the surface having a lower temperature, in this case Se of temperature Te, obedient the well-known laws of heat transport and diffusion.
- the surface is in this case, what is called the area of restitution.
- This heat transfer from the surface Sa to the surface Se is possible only if the surface Sa is less than or equal to the surface Se.
- the temperature Te is greater than the temperature Ta.
- the surface Sa is always smaller than the surface Se. Therefore, the heat transfer from the surface with the greater temperature (Se to Te) can not be done to the surface having a lower temperature (Sa to Ta) since Sa is more small that Se. In this case, Sa does not play the role of surface of restitution.
- the shutter according to the invention therefore has the double advantage to be able to capture the heat provided by the sun to transmit it to water when the outside temperature is above the temperature water (during the day) and reduce heat loss during the night.
- Another application of the swimming pool shutter according to the invention consist in providing hollow profiles, not closed at the ends, to heat the pool water by simply circulating water from the pool in the profiles.
- FIG. 3 presents a particular application of the swimming pool according to the invention.
- the advantage at the finishing level provided by the pool flap of the invention (3B or 3C) clearly compared to the finish provided by a pool flap of the prior art (3A).
- the swimming pool flap according to the invention may comprise different types of rigid profiles. These can be hollow (3B) or solid (3C), the assembly may comprise an alternation of hollow and solid profiles, whatever the number of hollow units consecutive or consecutive full sets.
- the flap can be composed of a series of consecutive sets comprising hollow sections all along the rectangular part of the pool and a series of consecutive sets including solid profiles to facilitate roundness finishing, as described previously.
- the swimming pool flap according to the invention may also comprise narrower sections (3B or C) than was feasible for other pool shutters belonging to the prior art (3A) given that the joints between the profiles of the prior art all took the water. Therefore, it was impossible to ensure the flotation of very narrow that could have provided a better finish in the rounds.
- the swimming pool flap according to the invention makes it possible to manufacture very narrow because the elastic connection between the profiles is perfectly tight and therefore increases the support surface of the flap on the water, thus allowing to obtain an approximation as close as possible to follow the curvature of the pool.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a swimming pool shutter consisting of a series of profile assemblies connected to each other on the length by a flexible connecting element, each set being consisting of two rigid longitudinal extreme profiles and at least a rigid longitudinal central section.
Such a component is known from US Pat. No. 3,683,428. document discloses slats interconnected by fasteners flexible hoses to fold the accordion flap. The top of the junction between the lamellae between which are the fasteners is covered with a flexible membrane such as a sticker. This guy component resolves many of the disadvantages of most pool shutters. Indeed, generally, cover and discover the pool is such a cumbersome and painful operation that the owner does not cover plus the pool. Therefore, the long periods of dormancy of the shutter result in the accumulation of spot colorations, algae and limestone that then require the use of chemicals to remedy the deterioration of the shutter. This use of products chemicals is obviously not recommended in the environment a swimming pool. Shutters suspended from rails generally provide a insulation against poor heat loss. U.S.
Nevertheless, a disadvantage of this component, even if it is available in pre-assembled units is that it does not provide a easy installation for the skilled person, who must lay the slats on water and cut them to the width of the pool before assembling them. In effect, the assembly of the fasteners on the slice of the slats of the shutter, the synchronization of the alternation of the fasteners between the pre-assembled units to keep folding the accordion shutter and then still laying the flexible membrane on the top of the tie between two successive lamellae are complicated and painful tasks for the skilled person. In addition, the manufacture of such a component requires various operations such as the manufacture of slats, the preparation of pre-assembly, manufacture of fasteners and membranes flexible and packaging in mounting kit.
An object of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages, while providing the same benefits, by providing a pool flap in the form of assemblies of pre-assembled profiles whose installation does not requires easier intervention, and the manufacture and preparation are simplified.
The assembly of the shutter according to the invention therefore implies an easy size (to the width of the pool) of several profiles in once and a simple nesting for the skilled person. Of moreover, the manufacture of the swimming pool shutter according to the invention is a step relatively simple, for example, that includes only one step molding and more particularly extrusion. The forced nesting tightness of the complementary ends avoids any accumulation of limestone or algae that could occur.
The state of the art, especially in patents DE 19646117 C and EP 1 233 125 A1, further discloses shutters for pool consisting of hollow slats, usually with internal sections, the hollow slats each having a connection male at one end and a female connector at the other end. The male and female fittings are provided to be slipped into each other and to provide in this way a well known and easy assembly of shutter. It should be noted, however, that the assembly area of the shutter pool plays the role of join and that this area must therefore present some flexibility of movement to be able to follow the wave movements on the surface of the water. This type of assembly although present, by its nature, the disadvantage of not being tight so that water accumulates around the area assembly and sometimes stagnates inside the profiles when the ends are not clogged. This causes an accumulation of limestone and impairs the flexibility of the connection at the level of the connection.
When the pool has an integrated access staircase in a rounded section, the hollow slats constituting the shutter must be cut either oblique or staircase. In the case where the slats are cut obliquely, it is impossible to plug the ends with prefabricated shutter elements, because depending on the angle of cut, the plugs must have different dimensions. This approximation used to follow the curvature of the edge of the pool present, besides the disadvantage of complicating the closure of the slats, another major disadvantage. Slats slipped into each other during assembly are not attached to each other. As soon as cut is made and that the slats are assembled, they are always free for a back-and-forth movement. The outline that the shutter assembled must therefore describe is not that obtained as a result final because of the longitudinal sliding of the slats relative to each other to others. In the case where the slats are cut perpendicular to the length, it is possible to close the ends with prefabricated shutter elements. The major disadvantage of the sliding of the slats with respect to others however is still present in this case and the shutter cut again results in a lack of finish from the approximation used to follow the curvature of the edge of the pool. In both cases cutting profiles, the fact that the profiles are not attached to each other does not ensure that an oblique or perpendicular line of cutting made across various consecutive profiles is maintained since nothing assures the alignment of at least one side of the profiles.
In some cases, these lamellae are provided in clear plastic at the top surface (in contact with atmosphere) and black plastic at the bottom surface (in contact with the water). This arrangement of two colors of plastic allows you to enjoy a greenhouse effect to warm the pool water. Sadly, the fact that the plastic of the upper surface of the shutter is transparent also causes algae growth in the profiles when the ends of the hollow lamellae are not clogged and at the level of the assembly area and the appearance of condensation. This accumulation of algae occurs in places inaccessible to cleaning, night aesthetics and presents a risk of contamination of the water of the swimming pool.
The swimming pool flap according to the invention does not suffer from a accumulation of algae at the assembly area. Indeed, the assembly of the shutter according to the invention is a forced interlocking which provides a sealed assembly area in which no accumulation of algae and limestone is not possible. The join having role of resisting the movement of waves on the surface of the water is not ensured in the pool flap according to the invention by assembling the male and female housings but by the flexible connecting elements between the longitudinal rigid sections.
In a particular embodiment in which the profiles of the swimming pool shutter according to the invention are full, oblique cutting does not pose no problem. In addition, the profiles being fixed to one another, no movement back and forth in length is possible. this allows to cutting made on different consecutive profiles to keep his profile.
In another particular embodiment, the sets of sections connected to each other by said flexible connecting element are obtained by molding and preferably by extrusion. These two manufacturing techniques given as an exemplary embodiment of the invention, are well known and very simple techniques that can in addition to being automated. By such a manufacturing process, the Pool should not be packed with these assembly elements. from then, the swimming pool shutter according to the invention is a shutter made in one single step, which does not require a packing step and is simple to store.
In addition, in a preferred embodiment of the swimming pool according to the invention, at least one of said rigid profiles longitudinal members having a first surface (Sa) and a second surface (SE) located on either side of the horizontal plane joining the flexible connecting elements, will present said first surface less than said second surface. Typically said rigid sections central and, preferably, the extreme rigid profiles also will have a first surface smaller than the second surface. This asymmetry in the surfaces allows the rigid profiles to play the role solar collectors and warm the pool water.
Rigid profiles used in the pool flap according to the invention will be hollow or solid and preferably made of polyvinyl chloride. vinyl. The flexible link elements will, for their part, preferably polyurethane. The aforementioned materials are suitable materials very well the manufacture of rigid profiles and flexible membranes, especially in the context of coextrusion and particularly suitable well to the application of the pool flap according to the invention.
A preferred embodiment of a set of sections according to the invention is represented by a sectional view in FIG. set includes solid profiles connected to each other on the length by a flexible connecting element (2). The set is composed two rigid longitudinal sections (3, 4) and one succession of 5 rigid longitudinal central sections (1). Profiles rigid extremities (3, 4) respectively have one end longitudinal male (3) and a female longitudinal end (4). The assembly of such assemblies is illustrated in FIG. rigid longitudinal extremes (3, 4) of two consecutive sets are assembled by a forced sealing engagement (5) ends male (3) and female (4) complementary.
The surface in contact with the water Se (surface lower than that defined above) is greater than the surface in contact with the atmosphere Sa (upper surface with respect to audit plan). During the day, the sun heats to a temperature Ta, the Sa surface that plays in this case the role of absorption surface of the heat. The rigid profiles will preferably be dark in color increase the heat absorption capabilities of rigid profiles. The water temperature designated here Te is below the temperature of the air of the atmosphere Ta during the day. This temperature gradient creates a heat flux that moves to the surface having a lower temperature, in this case Se of temperature Te, obedient the well-known laws of heat transport and diffusion. The surface is in this case, what is called the area of restitution. This heat transfer from the surface Sa to the surface Se is possible only if the surface Sa is less than or equal to the surface Se. During the night, the opposite case occurs, the temperature Te is greater than the temperature Ta. On the other hand, the surface Sa is always smaller than the surface Se. Therefore, the heat transfer from the surface with the greater temperature (Se to Te) can not be done to the surface having a lower temperature (Sa to Ta) since Sa is more small that Se. In this case, Sa does not play the role of surface of restitution. It should obviously be noted that the zero heat loss is impossible to obtain in the absolute given the phenomena physical diffusion and the thermodynamic laws that govern everything real system. The shutter according to the invention therefore has the double advantage to be able to capture the heat provided by the sun to transmit it to water when the outside temperature is above the temperature water (during the day) and reduce heat loss during the night.
It is obvious that this example of surface ratio is given by way of non-limiting example and that the upper surface can equal to the lower surface and that the profile is symmetrical by report to said plan or not.
Another application of the swimming pool shutter according to the invention consist in providing hollow profiles, not closed at the ends, to heat the pool water by simply circulating water from the pool in the profiles.
Figure 3 presents a particular application of the swimming pool according to the invention. In this figure, the advantage at the finishing level provided by the pool flap of the invention (3B or 3C) clearly compared to the finish provided by a pool flap of the prior art (3A). The swimming pool flap according to the invention may comprise different types of rigid profiles. These can be hollow (3B) or solid (3C), the assembly may comprise an alternation of hollow and solid profiles, whatever the number of hollow units consecutive or consecutive full sets. To bring a solution to the problem of finishing at rounded pool edges, the flap can be composed of a series of consecutive sets comprising hollow sections all along the rectangular part of the pool and a series of consecutive sets including solid profiles to facilitate roundness finishing, as described previously.
The swimming pool flap according to the invention may also comprise narrower sections (3B or C) than was feasible for other pool shutters belonging to the prior art (3A) given that the joints between the profiles of the prior art all took the water. Therefore, it was impossible to ensure the flotation of very narrow that could have provided a better finish in the rounds. The swimming pool flap according to the invention makes it possible to manufacture very narrow because the elastic connection between the profiles is perfectly tight and therefore increases the support surface of the flap on the water, thus allowing to obtain an approximation as close as possible to follow the curvature of the pool.
