- leg garment includes in addition to stockings in particular socks and any other type of hosiery.
- Socks with padding in the region of the tibia of a wearer of the sock are known from the prior art.
- the US-A-4,373,361 discloses a leg garment having the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a leg garment that protects the leg of the wearer of the leg garment, especially in the region of the tibia, particularly well against pressure and shock loads.
- the solution according to the invention takes into account the fact that the tibia of the wearer of the leggings is asymmetrically designed and arranged with respect to the longitudinal median plane of the lower leg.
- the tibia padding preferably covers a portion of the leg garment which, in the worn state of the leg garment, conforms to the bony region of the tibia.
- two leggings one worn on the left leg and another on the right leg of a wearer, are designed differently.
- the left and right leg garments of such a pair are mirror-symmetrical to each other.
- the tibia padding comprises a plurality of tibial part paddings which are separated from one another by a respective channel with a lower degree of reinforcement.
- These shin-part padding may be formed, in particular, as a strip extending substantially vertically in the worn state of the leg-wear garment.
- At least two of the shin part padding have different average widths and / or different middle heights from each other.

- the shin padding preferably has at least one edge section which runs essentially parallel to an edge section of the calf padding.
- tib padding and calf padding may expand laterally into the intervening channel during impact loading.
- the human calf area is formed and arranged asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal median plane of the leg, it is advantageous if the Calf padding is formed asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal center plane of the shaft portion of the leg garment, since in this way a matching as closely as possible to the muscle curve of the calf padding can be created.
- the calf padding on the inside of the leg garment extends over a greater height than on the outside of the leg garment.
- the height of the padding is understood to mean its extent in the vertical (in the worn state of the leg garment) vertical direction of the shaft part of the leg garment.
- the "inside” of the leg garment is understood to mean the side of the leg garment facing the respectively other leg of the wearer when the leg garment is worn.
- the “inside” of the stocking is the left side of it.
- the "outside” of the leg garment is understood to be the side remote from the other leg of the wearer when the leg garment is worn. In a right stocking, the "outside” is therefore the right side.
- the calf padding preferably contains at least one reinforcing thread.
- the reinforcing thread advantageously contains a material having a good heat-insulating ability.
- the reinforcing thread contains wool, an acrylic material and / or a polyester material.
- the reinforcing thread In order to give the calf padding the largest possible volume, in which in particular air can also be stored, it is expedient for the reinforcing thread to form plush loops in the region of the calf padding.
- the reinforcing thread is entangled in the region of the calf padding in a binding which forms air chambers. Due to the air trapped in these air chambers, such a calf padding has a particularly high heat-insulating effect.
- the integration of the reinforcing thread is preferably carried out such that the air chambers on the "left" side of the goods, that is formed on the interior of the leg garment facing side.

- the leg garment comprises a basic knit of one or more ground threads into which the at least two reinforcing threads are knitted to form the Achilles tendon padding.
- At least one reinforcing thread forms plush loops in the region of the Achilles tendon padding. In this way, enough volume is available to absorb impact loads.
- At least one reinforcing thread of the Achilles tendon padding contains an elastic material. As a result, a particularly good damping effect of the Achilles tendon padding is achieved.
- a first reinforcing thread forms plush loops in the region of the Achilles tendon padding and a second reinforcing thread of the Achilles tendon padding contains an elastic material.
- At least one reinforcing thread in particular a reinforcing thread containing an elastic material, is entangled in the region of the Achilles tendon padding in an offset binding.
- At least one reinforcing thread preferably a reinforcing thread containing an elastic material, in the region of the Achilles tendon padding in a 1: 1 offset binding, in a 2: 1 offset binding, in a 3: 1 offset bond, or generally entangled in a n: 1 offset bond.
- every third needle is deposited accordingly
- every fourth needle is deposited, whereby the deposition of stitches in a row of stitches is offset by one needle position at a time.

- the Achilles tendon padding is integrally formed.
- the degree of reinforcement of the Achilles tendon padding could vary over the area covered by the Achilles tendon padding.
- the Achilles tendon padding has a substantially constant degree of reinforcement.
- the weight of the incorporated in the base material of the leg garment reinforcing material per unit area is considered.

- a region 118 at the inner edge of the underside of the middle part 112 of the foot part 104 is excluded from the foot padding 108, which is arranged in the area of the inner arch of a wearer of the sock 100. Since the wearer of the stocking 100 does not occur with this area of the inner arch of the foot during walking, the outer contour of the foot padding 108 on the underside of the foot part 104 substantially corresponds to the outer contour of the foot contact surface of a wearer of the sock 100.
- a wedge-shaped portion 120 projecting toward the tip of the foot portion 104 is excluded from the foot padding 108.
- This wedge-shaped recessed area 120 is formed asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal center plane 106 of the foot part 104; In particular, the forward facing tip 122 of this wedge-shaped recessed region 120 lies on the inside of the sock 100.
- the toe area 110 provided with the foot padding 108 may also be formed asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal median plane 106 of the foot part 104 in order to allow better adaptation of the stocking 100 to the course of the toes of the wearer of the stocking 100.
- an arranged on the side of the big toe of the wearer inner edge portion 124 is inclined at a smaller angle to the longitudinal center plane 106 of the foot part 104 as an arranged on the side of the small toe of the wearer edge portion 126th

- the stocking 100 in the region of the channel 194 is not reinforced at all, ie only in the region of the channel 194 the basic thread or from the basic threads formed.
- one of the channels 188 between the tibial pad strips 184 180 may form an extension of the channel 172 between the strips 170 of the outer ankle padding 166.
- the lateral edges of two outer strips 184 of the tibial padding 180 each form an extension of lateral edges 198 of each one of the strips 170 of the outer ankle padding 166.
- the tibia padding 180 includes at least one reinforcing thread in the region of the outer strips 184 and the inner strips 186, which forms plush loops.
- the material of the reinforcing thread and the degree of reinforcement in the outer strips 184 and the inner strips 186 of the tib padding 180 may be selected as well as in the padding 108.
- the tib padding 180 preferably has a higher degree of reinforcement than in the area of the outer strips 184 and the inner strips 186, since in this region located at the front edge of the front of the lower leg and therefore particularly exposed, a particular thick padding is needed.
- the shin padding 180 in the region of the middle strip 182 may in particular comprise at least one reinforcing thread, which forms plush loops in this area.
- This Plühenhenkel forming reinforcing thread can in particular a higher fineness (that is, a higher Weight per unit length) than the reinforcing thread forming the plush loops in the outer strips 184 and inner strips 186.
- the shin padding 180 in the region of the middle strip 182 comprises a first reinforcing thread forming plush loops, and at least one second reinforcing thread.
- This second reinforcing thread like the first reinforcing thread, can form plush loops in the region of the middle strip 182, so that a double plush is formed in this area.
- the second reinforcing thread contains an elastic material in order to achieve an increased damping effect in the middle strip 182.
- This elastic material may comprise, for example, a wraparound material or a thread containing elastane.
- the central strip 182 corresponds to the tibial padding 180 in terms of the reinforcing material used and the degree of reinforcement of the outer ankle padding 166 and / or the inner ankle padding 158.
- the vertical distance between the lower edge of the tib padding 180 and the upper edge of the inner ankle padding 158 is significantly greater than the vertical distance between the lower edge of the tib padding 180 and the upper edge of the outer ankle padding 166.
- the stocking 100 comprises a calf padding 196 which is disposed in the calf of a wearer of the stocking 100 and above and laterally of the tibia padding 180 over the upper portion of the back of the shaft portion 102 and from there to portions of the front portion of the inner surface and Outside of the shaft portion 102 extends.
- the calf padding 196 is preferably formed in one piece.
- an inner lateral edge portion 198 of the calf padding 196 extends substantially parallel to an inner lateral edge portion 200 of the tibial padding 180.
- the inner lateral edge portion 198 of the calf padding 196 and the inner lateral edge portion 200 of the tibia padding 180 are separated by a narrow channel 202 in the area of the stocking 100 has a lower degree of reinforcement than in the adjacent areas of the calf padding 196 and the tibia padding 180th
- the stocking 100 preferably has no reinforcement in the region of the channel 202, that is to say the stocking 100 is formed in this region only from the main thread or from the ground threads.
- an outer lateral edge portion 204 of the calf padding 196 extends substantially parallel to an outer lateral edge portion 206 of the tibial padding 180.
- the outer lateral edge portion 204 of the calf padding 196 and the outer lateral edge portion 206 of the tibia padding 180 are separated by a narrow channel 208 in the region of which the stocking 100 has a lower degree of reinforcement than in the adjacent areas of the calf padding 196 and the tibial padding 180.
- the stocking 100 has no reinforcement in the region of the channel 208, that is to say the stocking 100 is formed in this region only from the main thread or from the basic threads.
- the calf padding 196 ends at an upper edge 210 which is spaced from a collar 212 which forms an upper end of the shaft portion 102.
- the collar 212 may be formed, for example, as a cape double edge.
- the calf padding 196 serves to warm the musculature of the wearer of the stocking 100 in the calf area.
- the calf padding 196 is ergonomically adapted to the muscle development of the calf of the wearer, which is why the calf padding 196 is formed asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal center plane 106 of the shaft part 102.
- the calf padding 196 extends further down the inside of the stocking 100 than it does on the outside of the stocking 100.
- the calf padding 196 extends in the circumferential direction of the shaft portion 102 over more than half the circumference of the shaft portion 102.
- the calf padding 196 preferably comprises at least one reinforcing thread having good heat insulating properties.
- a reinforcing thread comprising wool, an acrylic material or a polyester material may be used.
- a suitable polyester material is sold under the name "Thermolite" by DuPont, 1007 Market Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19898, USA.
- the incorporation of the reinforcing thread into the basic knit of the stocking 100 can, for example, take place so that the reinforcing thread forms plush loops.
- the reinforcing thread is entangled in a binding which forms air chambers in the region of the calf padding 196, which air chambers have a particularly high heat-insulating effect due to the air enclosed therein.
- the incorporation of the reinforcing material is preferably carried out such that the air chambers on the "left" side of the goods, that is, on the interior of the stocking 100 side facing formed.
- the reinforcing thread can be integrated so that it forms Pikee structures.
- the calf padding 196 comprises a reinforcing thread which contains an elastic material, for example spandex.
- an elastic reinforcing material pressure can be exerted on the calf of the wearer of the stocking 100, whereby the musculature of the wearer in the area of the calf is better perfused. Also, such a better circulation of the calf muscles helps to warm the muscles in the calf area.
- the above-described stocking 100 may be continuously knitted from the same basic material, that is, the same basic thread or the same basic threads.
- the collar 212 may be knitted from a different basic material than the remaining shaft part 102 and the shaft part may be knit from a different base material than the foot part 104.
