Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for displaying a list containing presence data on a display unit of a communication terminal.
  • Presence Service is known, in which properties of selected communication participants are monitored by means of a presence computer (presence server). Such features include, for example, the current availability via telephone, short text messages (SMS) or email. Information about such properties is collected and transmitted in the form of presence data to communication terminals that require such presence data.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a versatile method for displaying presence data using communication terminals.
  • This object is achieved according to the invention by a method for displaying a list containing presence data on a display unit of a first communication terminal, the presence data being held on a presence computer, in which presence data from the presence computer are retrieved by a list generation device by means of a retrieval message are retrieved, the presence data being a predetermined one
  • the list generating device determines format data assigned to the first communication terminal, which describes a data format that can be displayed on the display unit of the first communication terminal, and uses the format data to prepare the presence data so that a list is created , which has the displayable data format, and the list is transmitted to the first communication terminal for display on the display unit.
